Hello everybody! I wasn't here yesterday because I'd gone outside to help DH reset one of the fence gate posts. It had sunk so the latch wouldn't work and he had tried to raise it, then he moved the latch up a couple times but it kept moving. We think the ground under it is sinking. That's the part of the yard they did something when we built and we've had to add dirt several times to level it. Anyway, a lot of hard work. While I was out there I pulled a lot of vines from the next property and put in the piles of stuff to be picked up. And it was HOT out there yesterday.

When we came in I sat under the fan and fell asleep. I just couldn't get my strength back and I slept most of the afternoon and part of the evening.

A bit better today but I can tell I don't have the energy or strength to tramp around in stores with DH, which was his plan for today. And in a big store he goes off by himself and never looks for me and it's just a big nuisance. No. Not today.

He's all obsessed with getting the fence back up and he talks about this and that. Well, I'm sorry, I'm not helping with that whole thing until he puts away the tools from the back porch work and the hurricane panels work. I can't even get in the right side of the car because it's all the way over to the side and he's put all his carp in the car spot....

So I was up 2 ladders into both sides of the attic looking for spare shingles. I'm sure we had some but his stuff is piled everywhere...I climbed up to the top of his shelves to look up there and found the 1 piece of soffet he couldn't find and bought, with a long trip to get it.. so I'm sure he is looking for some shingles. We'll have to buy a whole square of it now for just a few to put on the peak. And I had to look all over for fence records and name of the shingles...not a happy camper right now.

I think he's out talking to someone about repairing their house damage...what's wrong with him? He can't do this work any more. Sigh....

Not a great day so far and I'm exhausted. I did sort out the laundry and fixed all the towels and those shelves 3 places... nothing to cook for dinner here so have no plan for that. Would love to have an egg, none to be bought, maybe he'll find some today. It's still pretty dark inside the house, we've only taken down a few panels in a few places. Any more storms coming? I sure hope not!

Back from my trip from sams. Knew the bill would be large, but that’s ok. Hopefully I’ll recover some money from my insurance company. I put everything away and will prepare my chicken and ground beef to freeze tomorrow. I don’t mind shopping, but hate putting stuff away.

Twins.., I was going to say the same thing abt your DD. If she’s really missing you, she’ll come home in spite of her disagreements with her friends. You need time to relax and focus on what you need to focus on.

Harmony… I am hearing the next chance for rain is this Saturday with a few isolated showers today and tomorrow.

LadyM… glad you’re getting some down time as well. Schools around here are still closed.

Before we left for sams Sweetie and I took down the huge lanai screen, folded it and took it to the curb. Everywhere you look the streets are piled high with debris. Not sure when the city will start picking it up, can’t imagine where they will be putting all of it either.

Our landfill is just a big mountain of stuff, put there after Charlie. After this one there will be a whole range of mountains. Takes an awful long time for this stuff to deteriorate. We have piles on both sides of the road and they haven't been around yet to pick any of it up. The power companies get other companies in to help with restoration. I don't think the waste company does that so it's a slow process. It was supposed to be within a month to be reimbursed from Fema, but the Governor got that extended to 2 months.

It's sprinkling here a bit, about an hour ago it started.

I worked as much as I could in the garage. Put away the stuff that stays in here but the rest DH will have to put back in his truck. I took a couple bins around the back to the porch where it stays (one is full of grass water sprinklers, etc.) and I brought the one in for the bolts and screws for the panels. I need to sort that all out. Took the garbage rolley can out and hosed it out, put bleach in it and scrubbed with long handled brush and rinsed. That thing was ripe! That's all I could do out there, but it's a start.

DH said they should rename the store "Slim Pickins". No chicken to buy but he brought home a nice big pizza. So that's dinner.

Men are in the back working on another one of the lines. Maybe that's our phone line. Or the neighbor's cable. We don't need that, we have satellite and we're lucky the custom bracket DH had made for it didn't blow away. He made it for the side of the wall because he didn't want anything screwed into the roof, which is what they usually do. He went to the metal company and had a nice bracket made. Good plan!

Time to put the pizza in.

today has been a struggle day as my ADHD has been acting up today - not over anything big - small world problems. I am tired but it's too early to settle in.

went through
papers & bills
, fridge (was really bad) but now sparkly clean (lol to a point ;) :D ),
cleaned cupboard, as we got flour moths. I vacuumed and washed it down.
I also looked for trash and donations.Found some. luckily I have been keeping up with decluttering and donations again.

I think I will have to continue donating during the spring and summer months instead of waiting until January.

what still needs to be done:
clean counters
clean stove
clean sink
put away
pick up and put away everywhere on first floor
vacuum:
3 season room
kitchen
family room
laundry room will be tomorrow

Just wanted to check in and let y'all know we're still alive over here...
DH woke me up at 9:00 a.m. (I know that sounds ridiculous to most of y'all) and asked me to go get dmom's walker for him. So I called to make sure she didn't need it and went out there. When I got back, we ate breakfast (I had a banana) and I went back to bed.
The next thing I knew, I woke up and it was 2:00 p.m. :!:
I really didn't do much else after that, but at 4:00 p.m., I s2s and went to KFC to get him some chicken pot pies for supper.
I went to church, came home and ate some cheese & crackers for my supper, plus a couple of the popsicles that are basically frozen flavored water, you know, and that's about it for me today.

Finally, dh announced that I did need to do some laundry (which I had asked about earlier in the week but he didn't want to be bothered with having anything to put away). He said he didn't even have any sweatpants left to wear and if * IF * he is able to go to our cousin's funeral Friday, he definitely needs some clean clothes.
So I have started the laundry.

Nothing else to shout about around here, that's for sure. I don't think I'm "sick" anymore -- no fever or anything, and diahrhea is much better, but I still feel exhausted, bloated, and gassy, and the thought of most food just does not interest me At All.

Sorry to come in a complain when Rose & Harmony, and Dee's family & Blessed's family are dealing with so much -- just wanted y'all to know why I'm ignoring everyone.
