I know it seems like the itching should stop right away - dd younger has a lot of allergic reactions because of her immune system that becomes on and off again allergic to anything. It usually takes a week or two to stop traveling through her body. When she was young her bee stings showed up as traveling huge hives around her body for 2 weeks. hope he gets relief soon!
I hope you can find a solution to your sleep. praying for restful nights to come

cleaning angels are here right now. They don't do the family room as the dogs are in here with me, or the main bedroom and bathroom, as dh won't let them. They also don't do the laundry room, 3 season room, or basement even though its finished. They work hard enough already; they don't need anymore.

My hope for today:

work outside - I have a whole l#st.
Tut tut - it looks like rain again.
Thinking of making chicken parmesan, salad, and another vegetable.

yesterday was hard work! Weight has been lifted off our house again. Less is more!
My grandfather used to say enough is too much.

Has anyone talked to lynlee or is there a way to find out how she is? I know I should not worry but I do.

And Mystery, happy to see you posting. I too do chore bingo now and then. I also use the timer a lot. Anything to get some focus! I think I'll set the timer on my phone right now for 45 min.

We had rain and wind overnight but I think the day is clearing and will be cooler. One of the lightweight chairs in the yard got blown around, maybe the yard people will pick it up and put it back, I hear them out there now.

I need to finish a.m. routine and do a few dailies etc. around here before I head upstairs. I'm gonna need to find the BGS (Butt glue solvent) to pry myself up.

Hello. It is grey skies here today and drizzles. The little church up by Tampa which has a bunch of young adults who have been coming to our area to help whoever needs it has been working across the street. There were 3 or 4 last weekend and today I looked out and saw about 10. They were working in the land in back of the church parking lot. That lot is full of trees and they don't use it and they don't keep it landscaped. These volunteers were going in there and dragging out limbs that had fallen, so now there are piles of debris ready for pickup all down the side street across from my house. Everybody around here keeps adding to their piles of stuff waiting for pickup.

Our landfill is really really high. They made a separate place for the H Charlie debris. As people dump things there or the county waste trucks leave stuff, they have big machines that push it all together and over the ravine place. I used to hate when DH took construction debris down there because he always picked up nails in his tires. I don't know if they put dirt between the layers. Regular weekly pickups go into a different place. It is way south out of our county, just at the edge of our county.

I've been having trouble with my ears, most times I can barely hear. It's my allergies acting up; when that happens it swells inside there and I get the usual eczema symptoms inside. I have a bottle of prescription drops to use to clear that up but I hate to use them because it makes the raw places burn. But I was so deaf this morning I had to use them. Ouch! I'll have to use them a couple times a day to clear this up and get my hearing back.

I was dreaming of the hurricane last night. All mixed up with one of my grandkids (who were not here during the storm) and I was dreaming it was an awful #3 storm (wrong) but especially with the grey and drizzle I am stressed and feeling upset. Every time I turn around there seem to be more problems to deal with.

DH went up to next town because that HD is easier to get into. He wanted to see a lady from our small group who's trailer lost a carport and 2 other rooms...but as much as I'd like to help her, I am upset he went up there. We can't do anything to help her, we usually hire an aluminum contractor for that stuff (it's a trailer) but we have no idea who to recommend. Anyway, she lives close by that store. But he called that the car battery wouldn't start and asked me to come. I was looking for battery paperwork which I couldn't find, and went out but had to close up the big truck and roll the window shut, and by the time I did all that DH came rolling home after getting a jump start from someone. We found the terminals all corroded so we cleaned them with vinegar and baking soda and a little toothbrush. That seems to be the problem and he is on his way again.

So far I've basically got nothing done. I was folding sheets from the dryer and decided to iron at least the cases. I want to clean that one last bedroom where my relatives had 2 cats during the storm...so I must go out and take down a couple panels so I can see in there. Sigh...if I get something accomplished I might feel better.

Lucylee, I'm glad you are feeling better. My GFriend and her husband both have Covid. He has been stressed about this virus for a very long time, thinking he'd die if he got it...and now they both have it. Sore throats and colds and slight fevers. I'd been hoping the storm blew all that away from us.

Sunday had dd's kids (and dd and dsil) for dgs' birthday dinner. He picked McD's. Half of us, including him, could not order their first choice (and in my case second choice - so no Quarter Pounder with Cheese or Angus burgers.) So that was a fizzle. He ate one nugget since he had wanted hotcakes and sausage and they weren't available.

Monday I spent the morning on regular housework with the plan we'd meet ds's family at Seaway for fish and chips. I called and that place (and two other restaurants) weren't open so we quickly pivoted. GF, who was at work, said we could come there (but put the fall table cloth back on the table!) and I put a boxed Butterball Turkey in my oven until we drove to his place where it finished up. We had a nice dinner. Dgs1.5 was delighted to see us.

Tuesday, some housework completion in the morning and then for our boosters in the afternoon. We are behind you guys so got the BA.1 bivalent instead of the BA.4/5 you have available. That is now approved but won't be available for another few weeks. I had made these appointments a month ago, so we went ahead. It was our longest wait yet and first line-up since restrictions were last lifted. At least it was a gorgeous day to stand outside for 20 minutes, then sit inside for 20 minutes until the shot (and then another 15 minutes wait in case of reaction.)

Wednesday was back to ds's because he had a dental appointment and the GF had unexpected training so babysitting was needed. Dh did his conference call there, then dgs and I had lunch, dgs down for nap and dh and I had a long wait for ds to come home because the dentist was backed up so he was 90 minutes late. Dh had postponed his breakfast so he could eat at his favourite diner, so he and I were there at 2:15.

Once home, we walked to the store for a few things and on the way back dh was really dragging. He rested a bit, we watched two episodes of TV and it was 6:30. He had a bowl of cereal for dinner and then was in bed by 9. I was 30 minutes behind him (also with cereal for dinner.) He apologized for messing up our meals. He was running a fever at bedtime but seems OK this morning. My tummy was off due to the booster, and both of us had mild background headaches, but aside from that weren't badly affected.

Today, I'm just distracted. Knocked one item off my to-do list but it is 12:40 so I should have accomplished more. Dh is off to get his hair cut. I'll stay home and try and concentrate. It is a grey, rainy, day and I'm listening to the rain and the cars in the rain and find it distracting (but can't close windows or else the apartment will get too hot.)

There was rumour of a cold front coming through last night but it didn't. Just rain came in, but it is still around 60 and it will have to be around 40 for me to be able to shut the windows.

That was a productive 45 minutes. I'm going to finish a couple of things and then head upstairs. I've made the bed folded laundry, started laundry, cleaned jewelry, started cleaning my CPAP stuff, straightened up in MBR. Lots of little things as I saw them. All over the place, but I kept moving.

Dcousin's wife in NY is trying to plan a December surprise birthday party for her dh. Her first choice of weekends, we are already booked, but the second choice would work if we want to do a trip up there. Could see them, and see dd, and do some fun things after my 25 Nov deadline is done and gone. So we'll talk.

I need to keep laundry going.

Just a quick question: Dh got his flu shot today but they also gave him his Covid-19 booster. Question is they gave him the Pfizer booster and we've always had the Moderna. Anybody know if that will make a difference? I'll ask my Dr tomorrow if they have the boosters in as well. Would sure like to get it done.

I've finally been able to 'fix' dh's F itbit. It's been about 5 days behind on date and time. I have no idea what I did though. I was messing with his app on his phone and had to change the password and it somehow came out the way it should. WTG me

Dee - I think it is acceptable & even recommended to mix the different c19 vaccines with boosters. “Mix and matching” of the new bivalent booster dose is allowed. One may receive either the Pfizer or Moderna product regardless of which product they received for their primary series and/or prior booster dose.

DH and I teamed up to pull invasive English Ivy out of a couple plant beds in front of the house. I foolishly planted a couple sprigs of this ivy a few years ago thinking it would be a good ground cover and would be contained in the gardens because they have concrete footings. I was sooo wrong! There is no containing this ivy because it will make a way to go up/down/around anything. It seems to thrive on a challenge. ANYway, we filled four 50 gallon trash bags with the vines and roots.

I spent some time investigating an instructor that gives riding lessons and the stable before I asked DD11 if she would like to start horse riding lessons again. I should have asked DD11 before I did the research because she isn't interested in riding horses now.

I started chopping vegetables from the garden and putting them in a big saucepan. I added too many jalapeno peppers, so I had to add more bulky/bland vegetables to counteract the spiciness. Then I added some sweetness to counter the savory. I didn't have a clue what it would be when i started but by the time I finished it was full to the top of the pan and very tasty. I have some boneless sirloin steaks (pork) defrosting. I'm not sure what method I will use to cook them.

Plan A and Plan B for today's outing has been scratched. Now I'm trying to think of a Plan C that sounds appealing. I'm leaning toward going hiking in the nearby mountain refuge.
