Hi. I'm having a slow moving day also. I'm just really really tired. DH had said he wanted to do the last work on the fence after he got the reinforcing bars from the store (supposed to be in today). I haven't talked with him about it because he is out weeding his grass. He came in for a break and was very tired, too tired to walk into the kitchen for something he forgot so I had to bring it to him. Anyway, I'm dreading the conversation where he says yes lets get to it. I'd like to stay in and do something inside.

I can see how things go awry when our focus is on one thing and not a balance between cleaning and decluttering, inside and outside, shopping or recreation, etc. Usually doing my morning and evening routines is enough to keep us going... but then sometimes I neglect going outside to take care of things out there... and since the storm all the energy has been outside. I have little left for the inside and have been doing things that have become a must-do emergency. Like when all the clothes are dirty...

I'm working on some things on my desk right now. One receipt has me puzzled...DH went shopping and one item (not a small amount either) he does not remember what it was...and the sku number in any site I've tried does not work. Frustrating. I have to keep track of stuff like that because some things get paid out of the business account and some out of the personal, so I need to know what it all is. Food is a given, but truck maintenance things are paid out of the business.... and poor DH doesn't remember much these days after a day or so. Doesn't help when a receipt has no description just 2 sets of numbers. I do know it's not marked F for food and it's a taxable item. I know more about store receipts than I ever did before after researching. DH said take the receipt back to the store and ask them. Who wants to bother doing that?!

Well, I'll keep puttering around. Lots to do in here.

Thinking about Dee and DH. Hard to think about them splitting up like this right now. It must be so hard for them. It would never work for us...DH needs me around to take care of things.

Way to go everyone!

I have done the rest of our walk.
Dumped trash.
Dishes are done.
Laundry is current.

Boiled up & peeled some eggs for later.
Cleared the tall desk in the dining room.
Started a smaller knit scarf.
I have a plan for dinner.
I swept and mopped all the hard surface floors upstairs. Yea!
Vacuumed the bedrooms.
Feeling better yea!
Thinking what to make up for next week.

I disappeared yesterday.

Dh made us chicken shakeNbake for dinner. Then handed out the decorations and all 3 lobbies were decorated. I spent 30+ minutes talking with my helper at one of the buildings. After 2.5 years, she misses being able to sit and chat. She is now even more profoundly deaf (2% on the word hearing test) than at the beginning of the pandemic but has had a cochlear implant and it trying to learn to hear that way. She is getting about 40% of the words (between hearing and lip reading - she is the only person I don't mask around.)

This morning I got dgs at 8:00 and had him until 4:30. He didn't sleep last night so I tried giving him lunch early to put him down 30 minutes earlier for his nap but he ate for all the extra time I gave him. Then only slept 45 minutes instead of 2 - 3 hours. During his lunch I did wash his clothes (we had to put him in a sleeper we found in his bag because he got really dirty at the park). So he spent the rest of the day in the sleeper. He looked so tired at snack time that I tried putting him down, watching his favourite video presenter through the side of the crib (I had the tablet down low on a stool so he was sitting instead of standing). My cunning plan was that he'd lie down and then go to sleep.

Instead his dad texted he was on his way early so I got dgs up and dressed and he was on a video call with his cousins when daddy arrived.

The weather was cold when we were at the park but this afternoon it got up into the high 60s and sunny so dh and I walked over to the good pizza place and had dinner there, sitting on the patio.

When I got home, I finished up the Halloween decorating and put up the extra signs reminding people. That took ages as I came across another person who was anxious for a chance to chat for a while. Loneliness was hard enough for our seniors before the pandemic, now they are desperate to get doing things and visit.

I'm disappointed it isn't bedtime yet because I'm tired. On the other hand, I had a productive day so I'm going to have a cup of decaf tea and surf the internet for a while.

Harriet: you are right, watches really are a personal choice.

I'm still awake but fading fast. Dh is watching a movie.

I think I'll move to the bedroom and try and do some floor exercises. I'll get ready for bed first so if I fall asleep doing them, I'll be able to just crawl into bed. Literally.
