I gave up after losing 3 posts and typed my post in word and am copying it here;

Talked with dh earlier. We’re trying to decide if he can just bring some of what he took north and would fit in his back pack (personal item). Absolutely has to bring his meds. Know one thing I told him to leave was his PJ’s. I wanted to get him a new pair for Christmas anyway. He needs new crocs so may as well leave that pair up north. Think he has enough underwear and socks to get by down here. Told him to leave one pair of his dress jeans. We can make 1 pair do. Most of his T-shirts he could leave -he has plenty here. Said he’d let me know for sure tomorrow. I have to know if he has a checked bag when I make his reservations or it costs more. Think the first bag is $50.

For the first time in almost a week my temperature is at ‘normal’ (though high for me). I do feel like I may have turned a corner. Certainly hope so. Hate to think how sick I’d be if I’d never had the enhanced flu shot to begin with. Today I’m simply lying low and not doing anything. Did make the bed. Woohoo!

In the middle of making molasses cookies. I only used 1/2 the ginger they called for and to me they are still too ginger-y. Found out I didn't have any cinnamon so I used twice as much cinnamon-sugar and called it good. There was no way I was going to the store just for cinnamon.

Dh is having rabbit cooked in butter chicken sauce. I was planning on having some and then he added some coconut in to the crock pot, so now I will have rice and whatever else I am cooking later. (I have some boil-in-bag Indian food, so that's my plan.) Unless dh decides to help some more.

Cathy: no cinnamon in this house would constitute a disaster. It is one of those items that trigger a trip to Bulk Barn when the last of the backup supplies are poured into the spice jar.

The development documents for the construction of the fourth building in this complex have been uploaded on the city's planning site so I've been downloading and quickly scanning through them. All while trying to stay awake because I still haven't had my nap.

This is going to be a headache for me for the foreseeable future. The people in the building right next door are up in arms. They'll be getting underground parking, an indoor swimming pool and a theatre room. But they don't want the noise or to lose their views. BTW: the land has been zoned for a 12 story building since 2001 so the whining they are going to lose their views doesn't sway me. If you really cared, you'd have checked the zoning of all properties in this area.

Of course, I'm not affected; no-one can spoil my view of the river because I'm against a parkway and parkland. (Construction can spoil my view of Parliament Hill and we should lose that view in the next year or two if the location of the construction crane in the 7 miles between us and Parliament is any indication.)

Kathryn I do foresee a trip to Bulk Barn in the near future. There are other things I want to bake this year that will need cinnamon. I will also need to get more cinnamon sugar to put on toast. I was reminded about the molasses on toast that my dad used to love when I was a small child when I was pouring the molasses into the measuring cup. A tiny bit dripped down the outside of the measuring cup when I was finishing adding it to the butter and sugar so I licked it off. So good.

I think it took all my energy to make 33 cookies today.

I thought I was lying down for a little nap and slept two hours. It's a gray scale day here and raining now.

I'm making tomato soup for our supper with grilled cheese sandwiches.

Whew! Home.
Surgeon said basically just that he just repaired the hernia -- which I don't know if it was a new hernia or if the one in May was not fully repaired at that time BUT at any rate, he seemed to think she should do fine now.
The nurse said she expected her to be dismissed "in a few days" and that PT would help us decide if she needed to go to rehab or if she was strong enough to go home. She really liked the rehab center in Next Town, where she stayed a week after the surgery in May, so that is where she will be requesting to return. I wish she liked the one right here in our little town, which has an excellent reputation, but she doesn't, so... whatever. At least the drive to Next Town is about half what it is for this hospital, and it is part of our regular routine to go to Next Town at least once or twice a week. Plus, she'll only be a few minutes away from ddil's hospital, so if something came up, ddil could also drop by there going or coming from work.

I did go visit with my daunt and uncle. He is pretty doped up -- I mean, he was able to talk just fine and made pretty good sense about everything, but he apparently dreamed he spent the night in some crazy doctor's office, a tiny room where no one would speak to him and no one would allow him to use the restroom, and he didn't sleep AT ALL last night... LOL. And when I said, "You dreamed this?" He said, "No, I was over there." I just told him I hoped he had a quieter night tonight. Apparently he has reconciled himself to rehab, and daunt hopes to get him transferred here to our local nursing home tomorrow. He didn't want her to leave him tonight, but she did. She walks on a cane and has all kinds of arthritis problems herself, much like my dh. She probably wouldn't be able to go at all if she spent the night in a recliner or the hospital pull-out couch.

I got home to find dgs putting out all the Christmas decorations! Everything except the tree is done now -- I had to help him with some of the breakables. It's not exactly in the order I do it, and we'll pretend the dust underneath the various snowmen and Santas is just a light dusting of snow maybe... but I tell y'all what -- there is nothing better than watching a ten year old boy putting out Christmas decorations while singing Christmas carols. I told him, dgd is going to have her feelings hurt if we do the tree without her, so I'm putting that off for awhile.

Hmmmm, so Lucylee has either brown or gray snow? Interesting!

I'm obviously feeling a little better if I can see the humor in that! Took my temp again a while ago and it's down even more. But I'm just taking it easy. I'm sure that when I felt better on Friday that I jumped back in way too fast and my body was definitely not ready.

my dh said I was not talking much this morning and thought something was wrong - I think he was bored but he is usually the a talks like crazy in the morning. I love quiet starts to my day but he just loves to chit chat away.

the day has been quiet and lovely
dd older and I (on a call with dd younger) put lights and some ornaments on the tree. dd older put lights on the front window which was so nice.

I was so proud of myself - brother called and was very pushing/intenser without realizing it-I don't do well with this but I did great. I was kind as can be bc I know that is stress behind his concerns. He doesn't know we have done things before. I just said we will try that because his suggestions are done with love for d mom. who knows that it will be great this time.
the nurse had bought the Alzheimers clock for d mom and mom put it away and then donated it. my brother bought the same thing recently and I hope this will work and she will keep it.

It is pouring down snow outside here now we might get 2".
It is sticking too. Doubt I will be heading out to Bible study in this even if I do have 4 x 4 roads can still be slick and not plow trucks have treated
with de - icer or put down gravel. {*} = snow LOL!
But I might walk with the dog around the block to get some steps in or shovel the driveway again.

I crochet my 5 rows on current project a hot pad.
I am behind on them so that is my hope to get some made up before Christmas.
To have on hand.

I decided to save the chicken I bakes ahead and thawed out for dinner good call for me.

I have some sewing I could do but the fabric I have is spring prints still thinking what to do with them.
