It is a quiet day in the SHE village.

Today has been our typical Sunday. Church and small groups. The nursery volunteer was sick this morning, so I kept the littles during church. They were in the live nativity presentation, so their time spent in the nursery was limited. The youngest one fell asleep in my arms and slept the rest of the time while I rocked her. She is a snuggler and would wake up long enough to wiggle every part of her body to make sure she was as close as possible to me.

We ate lunch at Mexican restaurant. DBro and DSisIl were eating there so we took the opportunity to catch up a bit.

My youngest DNephew announced they are expecting their first child in June. I couldn't be happier for them.

DD11 and I spent an hour together working on the tangles in her hair. DD11 has decided it is time to get her hair cut. When her hair gets to the middle of her back it is a challenge to maintain. When her hair is shoulder length then it doesn't have those problems.

First let me wish Twins a blessed Hannukkah which begins at sunset through December 26, 2022.

First chance I've had to get here today. DD and I went to church this morning. Stopped at S teak & S hake and brought home lunch -it was so good! She was going to bake cookies from chilled dough but it was too chilled. So went to B ig L ots and did some shopping. Since we were only less than a mile from the Goodwill store we decided to take the load of things in her car (and in the house) so that was another thing off our list. Talked her into (didn't have to talk her into it really) to put down all the jobs we have to do this week. She's off school now for 2 weeks. We were able to take quite a few cards off the trays tonight. She got 28 1/2 dozen cookies baked so that's a great start.

Tomorrow dd had planned on doing a lot but her dfriend (and our "adopted" daughter) called to see if she could pick up a Kucherov (Lightning player) jersey for one of her sons for Christmas. DD told her she doesn't have another game until Dec 28th but to see if the Sales shop is open. If so she and friend are making a trip to Tampa tomorrow and friend taking her to lunch. They asked me to go but think I'll try to get some things done here.

I slept well last night -finally. Have talked off and on with dh today. DS-R & DDIL were there once when I talked to him. He finally got a room at 3am today. Our cardiologist made a trip in TODAY/SUNDAY to see him at the hospital. Impressed me. The Dr taking care of him in the hospital told him they're keeping him again tonight and he's going for therapy in the morning. They want to be sure he's good walking and how he's reacting to being back on some of his meds. Won't surprise me if some of those get changed again. So wish he wasn't on this regimen for the H Pylori infection along with everything else. Cardiologist told him that after looking at his myriad of tests they have decided that a lot of his problem (other than the elevated Troponin level which they attributed to his ablation Wednesday) came from dehydration. Both he and dfriend can't understand how he could possibly be dehydrated, but ???? He's anxious to leave the hospital.

He's told Dfriend he plans to go to her house tomorrow, pack up and go to DS-A' for the rest of the week. None of us feel this is a good idea. Going to call DS-A shortly -DGS10 has a hockey game right now. Will discuss this with him. Besides (and I almost think he's forgotten this) DS-A and family are coming here Saturday for a week. Besides I'm sure DDIL is working, DGS10 will still be in school all week and DS-A is in and out all day with snowy season. He absolutely can't stay with DS-R as there's too many steps to/from the bathroom -they're in a split level. He can barely make it up the 2 steps into the house where he's at right now. So wish me luck with all this. DS-R said he's working nights so is willing to get dh from the hospital tomorrow and to the airport Thursday (if that's what's happening). Wednesday he has an appointment with our cardiologist at 3:15. Though I'll be calling tomorrow to verify that time. Dh has been very confused about so many things.

Big vent. We're home and I'm checking into the pity party from earlier this week. Exhausted and headachy. Maybe I'm just too old/tired/out of shape to travel and see things? Kathryn mentioned this week only being able to walk about a mile, and I am with you! Dh walks fast because that's how he feels best, and he can walk forever. I can't and he won't understand it - to the point I'm ready to say no more travel. Or maybe I should just lose weight somehow and get myself into better shape?

It wasn't a great trip. I know I'm complaining about a trip to NYC but we had driving rain on Thursday - Friday and dh wants to walk! No cab, no Uber, won't dream of the subway. We had dinner with dd and saw a show with her - that was good. Finally, on Saturday we did something that I wanted to do and went to a museum for the exhibit I wanted to see. It would have been good for us to split up to each see what we wanted but no. I think part of my problem is just too much together time. I need some space!

Dee, thank you for Hanukah wishes - I have the menorah on the porch lit on a timer to go out in a couple of hours, and we haven't even roused ourselves to light a menorah or anything here.

I just feel sad about holidays, missing dd, not being able to do the things we wanted to do (between rain and back hurting from walking.) I'm really hoping to feel better in the a.m.

Oh goodness, I’m hanging around at the pity party today too.
(((Twins))) Travel IS exhausting. And at least my travel companions were happy and didn’t wear me out. But I was worn out. I finally slept for about two hours this afternoon.
After Wmart with both dgrands… whew. I was just DONE.

Happy Hanukkah!

We are eating supper later tonight than usual; dh was watching a basketball game on tv.

This week I have GOT to get myself together and get Christmas stuff finished. Dmom is s still not feeling well — does a UTI cause you to have fever? Or does she haa as ve the flu? That’s just ALL we need around here.
But flu or not, those staples need to come out, so Tuesday will be busy with her. I’ve got to find some time to shop a little more — in real brick and mortar stores… and I’ve got to WRAP stuff.
Oh — and order food for Sat. Y’all don’t let me forget THAT!

Plus… I decided against Metamucil drink. Maximum dose is 2 8-oz glasses 3x a day.,I figured I might as well stick to the pills, in that case. But something is definitely going to have to change around here. In a few weeks, I’ll be accompanying dmom to the new gastroenterologist and I may make myself an appointment at that time. Sigh.

Long, exhausting, day but very successful.

Got up, started the mulling of the cider and had my tea, hit the shower, dressed in underwear and hose (the first time in 33 months, I think, although I wore tights a couple of times) and put on black dress and sweater and took all the bins to the social room.

Then came back up, had breakfast, made rice Krispy treats, and dried my hair and styled it to wear a mask, then dressed all in white and headed off to be an angel.

Got to church and the coordinator was happy to see me but needed me to write my own part (when assigned originally it wasn't a speaking roll), so I did that while getting the angel wings to fit me (my back was too broad as designed.)

Played the role of an angel, chatted with the church musician and headed home.

Changed into jeans and had a 30 minute break, then headed downstairs to decorate.

The resident party was an overwhelming success. As many people or more than usually come showed up and we almost ran out of nametags. Lots of people I don't know showed up.

We cleaned up after and left the chairs in the social room's storage room. The landlord's ordered furniture hasn't shown up yet and we were tired so chose to leave it there. Staff can use it for their lunches and we'll have it there for the AGM in January. If the landlord needs the space, we'll clear it out, but not today.

Got upstairs at 5:45 and did a major round of cleanup while dinner cooked. Started laundry and then ate.

After dinner, flipped things in to the dryer and then vacuumed and tidied and started prep for dgs being here.

Now to find my Christmas Eve service notes and create the bulletin.

I have to get it off tonight or it won't be off until Tuesday.

I start work tomorrow morning at 6:15.

I did not go to class tonite, back was out after plumbing adventures.
I just was not up to hearing someone's tear jerking testimony not sure what is up with that but last week
one set me off I am still getting over that one.
They said it was the kids christmas party, with no mention of the lesson for adults and no reminder this week.

Got 15 flakes of snow.
I have been doing some pre-planning set up before my new planners arrive.
There is a set of three vids. I am half way through the first one.

Got the dishes done tonite.

Harriet — no, she is not being treated for the UTI yet — doctor didn’t get rx called in Friday, so she’s been at least 48 hours with symptoms but no meds. She also has diarrhea. And a slight cough, but not severe.

Y’all, it has been a long trying day, but right now, I’m at a sleepover with my favorite people in the world. Dh is snoring here beside me and both dgrands are asleep on pallets here in our bedroom. D So sweet. They fell asleep watching a story about Jesus’ birth and life, showing footage from the Holy Land.
