Oh look, we're all going to
Cathy's for dinner? I'm in!
Actually, when I quit eating regularly with my tooth pain, I never got back into eating regular meals. I've been told not to chew on temporary crown so I'm still not back to normal. After doing that for a while I've sorta lost my appetite. Don't even want my coffee in the morning and that's really unusual for me. Good for the scale, though.
I am trying to get caught up. I've cleaned up the kitchen and all that's left is to give the counters a good cleaning. I've cleaned the sink good and everything's put away, including all the receipts all over the island. All job stuff. I've organized all the baking ingredients and hope to get those blasted cookies done. DH keeps asking me about them... annoying. Finally I asked him what was he making - and then he quit asking. I am going to make 4 kinds and that's it. I've been unable to find Christmas tins in any of the stores. Too bad. It might be Tupperware this year...and I'll use up the tins I have, though I don't have enough of the small sized ones.
1 LOL done needs some things hung up. DH's whites. Last time he ran out when I was having terrible tooth pain and got behind...he resorted to wearing flannel boxers (his PJ's) instead of just throwing a load in.

Would love to have a covered dish dinner at Cathy's tonight! I'll bring a big Caesar salad!
I have 250 steps first three hours. Need to s2s soon, and need to leave for temple in an hour or so. I have a second load of laundry going - the first is in dryer and the second gets hung up or dries flat. I was caught up on laundry when we left so I'm not in bad shape there.
Dcleaning lady is supposed to come on Friday.
We had a good time seeing dd and we just talked for 30 minutes. She had some good reminders for dealing with things. She is crazy busy right now - had Hanukkah event that she put on last night (said she had 300 people registered, but not all would show up.) She has events tonight and tomorrow night I think, don't know about the rest of the week. We should facetime. We'll see ds on Friday and Saturday nights.
I think I'm going to do some back stretching, then get into the shower.
I see massage therapist tomorrow for body work. I should get a Christmas card and cash ready for him.

I am waiting for the meat to thaw to make the spaghetti sauce. In the meantime, I have hunger teens to feed and our refrigerator is empty of leftovers. **Danger Will Rogers!!** So I made a double batch of mac & cheese. I also made BBQ shredded pork. The mac & cheese does bad things to DH blood sugars so I made a big pan of Spanish rice for him. (Pasta blows up his Blood glucose but rice doesn't affect it) I chopped & sauteed several kinds of vegetables to add to the Spanish rice. That dish looks so colorful and tastes good too.
I had Greek yogurt & blueberries for my first mini meal, but I haven't stopped to eat again. I need to do that now. I'm having Pinto beans with slices of sweet onion and pickled okra for 2nd mini meal.

Twins, Happy Hanukkah. May your life be filled with light and joy.
I printed out an explanation of your holiday. DH and I were talking about it; he wanted to know what it was about. I just knew it had something to do with lights which is where the menorah comes in. Now I understand it all, the Maccabees and the miracle of the oil, and how that is reflected in all the good food you make (latkes etc). And I understand the dreidel (a great miracle...) and the gifts of chocolate coins. Very nice holiday.
Well, I just took my very first Covid test. I've had a sore throat - sorta - since the 2 times I had the acid reflux episodes. I'd figured it was probably from that, which it usually is, but this time it seems to be dragging on...so I did the test. Each box we received has 2 test kits. The first kit did not have enough fluid in the tube and I couldn't get 3 drops from it...I got only 1, so I had to do it all over again. Like I thought, my raw throat was from the acid, no covid. Thought I should check because I'll be making these cookies to give away.
I'll bring some cookies to
Cathy's tonight! Hope she doesn't freak out when she reads all this!
Oh I remember the underwear story! I did get his whites in the dryer and the things I hang outside on the rack. These days he's been folding and putting his stuff away. His drawers were so messed up though, when I sorted his closet and drawers I refolded and stacked everything so I could tell what he had.

If only, Cathy. Wish I were up there -not happening. BTW, Kathryn, thanking you for all the advice the other day. Yesterday and have been hard ones. But I'll get there. Actually our cardiologist came in to the hospital yesterday just to see dh. And then he saw him again this morning. He had PT yesterday (he finally got a room around 3am yesterday. Then I saw this morning that he had another CT scan around 1am last night. All I could think was that he had fallen again and yes he had. He did pretty well at PT this morning. When the cardiologist wa sin staff asked him what he thought about release. He said, "Yes. I'll see him in the office Wednesday afternoon. Then if everything's okay lets get him back to FL to his wife." Dh had called dd late this morning and he did say he was going to our friend's to stay. He had planned to go to our DS-A's house. He really needs to be under dfriend's thumb and watchful eye or at the very least her dh. DDIL & DGS10 will both be at school and DS-A said he would try to be around. Well that won't work. PLUS the fact his steps are nigh on to impossible for even me to get up and DS figured he'd have to help dh. Even that won't work. They determined at PT that he can't do steps. There are 2 very little steps into dfriend's house and she and her dh can probably help him in. I did lose it when dh first called and said, "I can't do this any more." I'd been trying to coordinate things between dfriend/DS-A/DS-R. Told him the 4 of them were just going to have to figure the logistics.
I had a difficult night and found myself just plain sobbing off and on. Think I'm much better now. So if all goes well dh will be flying down Thursday morning. They're really checking his meds and he absolutely needs a walker now. DD had $400 in her flex spending account -use it or lose it this week. So she ordered dh a roller walker and a shower chair. The regular walker wouldn't allow him to sit where he needs to. And I guess the wheels can be locked. They were concerned about him getting in the house here. But after a God whisper this Fall, Dsonil built a very nice ramp into their front. It looks like no other I've seen. DD's steps were awful even for her. So this has been helpful for all of us. There's just the one step at the front door and not that high. Dfriend's house has 2 small ones -guess I already said that.
My lawyer's office called this morning and wanted me to go to Bartow to sign some papers for my settlement check. Ended up paralegal is coming here this afternoon. Don't expect it'll be very much after the lawyer is paid his third but more than I have now. You can probably guess it's all going to be spent on dh's medical bills. But at least we'll have something coming in. He's now spent over 6 days in the hospital. Know insurance starts paying after 5 days, BUT that's after the 5th day in a row. So 2 are separate and then so far there's 4 this time. Hopefully even as I write he has or will be released today. He will be using a walker at dfriend's.
