The days are getting longer again, we're heading back toward the light!
We were just talking about this yesterday. YAY!! for longer/lighter days!
I've been keeping busy ever since around 7am. Trusting the time will go faster for when dh sees the cardiologist at 3:15. We should know then IF he's flying here tomorrow. So hoping/praying. If the answer's "YES" then DD and I will be on the computer pronto trying to make reservations for her and get dh's seat changed. They booked him in row 18/middle seat. We know beyond a doubt this will not work! Very few people know of dd's plan to fly up to Rochester and back if she can. Of course the door has to open for a seat both ways.

Dee, I so pray it all comes together!
So far haven't done clean up in upstairs room but did stamp a little.

I'm going to go reboot the laundry now, and then go pick up the groceries. Dh said we're due at dfriends around 5:30ish. I'll need to s2s when I get back. Then maybe I'll try for 15 min clean up?

Second break…
Looks like a bomb exploded here at the house. Sweetie cuts up the boxes as I empty them. He also folds all the packing paper and bundles it up so the garbage people will take it tomorrow. Same with the cardboard but it has to be bundled too.
Everything safely arrived including my moms 65 year old lamps and shades. The laps are made from tree routs or drift wood, can’t remember which so they are almost like a piece of art. I have always loved them. Lampshades made it as well with only a few minor knicks along the trim. I’ll be able to fix them with a brown marker till I eventually buy new shades.
Still have loads of packing paper to fold and bundle, but at least I found my pumpkin pie recipe in my moms cookbook. Have plenty of things to find new homes for, but I spent part of the other day clearing out some kitchen shelves in anticipation of my new arrivals.
After listening to Christmas music for the last 5 hours, have changed over to some soul music. Need a pick me up and that will do it.
Back to work… do the jerk baby do it right now and put on you red dress… here I go

Since we successfully invited ourselves to Cathy's house for a virtual spaghetti dinner, I think we ought to all head south and show up at RR home to look at her newly unpacked treasures. Maybe Harmony will bring some of her homemade cookies to share at our virtual gathering
We had a successful trip to the city and lunch out before we came home.
Our outside temperature is currently 37F which is the warmest it will be for the next 5 days. As soon as we arrived home, we took this above freezing opportunity to do the final outdoor tasks.

I'd love to see the treasures and enjoy a cookie together!
Picked up groceries - beware - any who do so - people were parking in the spaces for grocery pick up and the lot was full! I had activated the "on my way" tracker and when circling a second time a Publix guy with a grocery cart was coming out the door and waved at me! Went around again and pulled up at the curb where he was waiting. Might be busier than usual because we have a chance of snow showers tomorrow night when our temps start dropping.
I looked at my list for cards and have enough but will make a few extra.
I might read some now...I'm enjoying the slower lifestyle this week. Whoops, I also need to get my steps this hour....

This also helps to keep my back limber.
Did the gazelle it helped my back, and it is in the basement.
Have had lunch and cooked some up for another day. It was quite tasty.
Have not done a lot today as I did desk day early.
Fetched the mail in.
Got some of my packages today.
I got the bathrooms swept and did the dishes.
Feels good to get something productive today.

Dh has been cleared to fly tomorrow. DD is trying valiantly to book tickets for her to fly up, meet him and fly back with him. She can get there but as of right now can't seem to book back on that same plane which is coming right back to Orlando. Praying hard there's a miraculous opening real soon.

Answered prayer. DD finally was able to book a ticket going to Rochester with her miles. Then she bought a return ticket and paid for a seat. She got 5th row/aisle and she'll just trade with dh. He's going to be so surprised when he sees her up there. It might be one of those times you see a man cry and I'm sure she will! When he called to tell me the Dr will let him fly tomorrow he said he wants to go see his brother when he gets here. That in itself is a logistics problem. I know he's going to be very tired. Has to be to the airport around 7:45 and the flight. Just getting him in to his db's is going to be a very difficult thing -we think. Though I did think of a possibility earlier. Dbil has a motorized scooter. There's a very long 2-way ramp into his house and I knew I for sure couldn't push him up in a wheelchair nor can dd that distance. BUT if we can take the scooter out hopefully he could ride that up and in and back out to the car. Know we have to figure all sorts of new ways to do things -at least for the time being. Our hope is he'll regain strength and be able to walk again.

So dh has COVID. Last night he said he didn't feel well and he took his temp and it was okay, but today he's sounded terrible. He says he feels fine and scoffed about taking test but I insisted because we've been traveling. "Better to be safe, dear." My nasal passages feel a little sensitive, not sure it I'm getting it or it's the power of suggestion. Neither of us masked over the weekend, and I read today that NY is the hot spot right now.
I insisted that he take it before we went to dfriends tonight. "I'm sure you're fine, but let's just be sure..."
So pleased that the plan came together for Mr. Dee!
