I slept well.
Bs is good today.

Did declutter some in the ent. center first things before I was fully awake got photos in a box yea for progress.
Then I mopped upstairs.
Ya-hoo for two big rocks done!
Planning & QT done.
Journaling still to do.

Next:
Take pic of drawing before I toss it. *
More decluttering on the entertainment {ent.} center so I can clean it and consider painting it.
Worked on that did a round.

So glad I have the table down stairs 2 of them actually cleaned off to use for the unloading of the ent. center.
A project to have this time on year is good for me.
Grateful for kids school desk with wheels on it to move the tote I unloaded around with!

Declawed paper tiger found a box of lh paperwork sorted and tossed generic education items.
Moved photos to a big dresser could not lift the tote had to change that up.
Can you believe I have more than one dresser of photos! Ack! Not all mine some of the farm.

Memorable moments from yesterday / reflection:
Dgd made a granny square yesterday and lounged around said she had fun here.
I sent a cake mix home with her to do up later if she and her mom want to do cupcakes to have with friends later.

Looking forward to:
Deciding and getting containers for Ent. center and what I come up with for that.

Who uses glass pickle dishes?
Me. Just put one back in the cupboard. I have 3 of them (gave the 4th away.)
Do I know why DC doesn't like little kids?
I'm not sure but suspect it is a combination of her being an intense introvert and them taking attention away from her.

She was born to very young mother and grew up in a house with her mom, aunt, and maternal grandparents. Her great aunt was her day care provider. Then her uncle ended up back at the house with his s/o and a kid (or two) and since then, from time to time her grandparents are guardians to her cousins.

She was an only child until age 11. But younger kids were interrupting that status for a good portion of that time. Then her dad had a baby. Then her mom had a baby. Then her dad had another baby. So she has 3 half siblings under the age of 3. Worse, when dgs was born, she was sent to her dad's for a month (due to covid risks) and thus had to spend time with her toddler half sister after being displaced by her new half brother.

There is something about her that her cousins and her siblings all absolutely adore (and follow her around and basically worship the ground she walks on.) She is patient and good with them. But she doesn't like the attention.

She doesn't like attention from anyone (she and I were messaging about that this morning) so I'm sure that also plays into it. She's told me she will never have children because she doesn't like them and she doesn't want to do babysitting (she's getting to that age) either. On the other hand, if I'm babysitting at her place and she comes home from school she'll check in with me and then tell me she's in her room and if I need help with dgs just to call for her. She'd make a great babysitter so it is a great loss to her town that she's not interested!

Anyway, because I know she tolerates but doesn't like kids, I run interference as much as possible when she's around my other grands.

All the china and silver is put away along with the clean napkins and tablecloth. The soup is dealt with.

Dinner for tonight is planned and we're bringing veggies and ham to dinner tomorrow night. Soup will be part of the dinner on Sunday (back here.)

I need to do payroll. I'm avoiding it.

House is "clean" but she keeps shaving away at the 2 hours, which means she gets here at 9:20-ish and is long gone by 10:45. Dh and I have been talking and we are both thinking it's time to tell her we don't need her any more. I want her, but she doesn't lift things to dust, so if I wanted a slip-shod duster, I can do that myself. I had to do the books on the coffee table shelf last week.

I think we are having fajitas for supper.

Dh's side of the closet is done. Almost all of the hangers are turned around other than what I have hung up in there in the past week. (Long sleeve dark t shirts get worn every day.) Now it's time for my side of the closet.

Happy Birthday to Ken!
Happy Birthday to Twins DH!

I hope both Kathryn & Twins homes are filled with happy moments today.

I am continuing to use my Christmas Break to tweak my daily routines. The changes I have made are tiny but the consistency of doing them is already showing huge results. It always amazes me how such tiny changes can bring big results.

The plumbers are coming this afternoon to do the yearly maintenance on the water softener system. This appt had to be postponed twice due to the weather and crew getting sick. I already cleaned up around that area for them, so it requires no extra effort for me today.

Both of the kids will attend a party tonight. They will be celebrating the eve of New Year Eve. I trust our youth ministry in putting this event together and they put lots of effort into planning, preparing, and overseeing. They make it creative so the kids enjoy it while keeping the activities within reason and the kids' safety is always important. I know one of the activities will be a scavenger hunt with the youth breaking into groups to go to many houses in our tiny town seeking items.

bw2, I love paperwhites. The smell can be overwhelming though but their beauty makes up for it! Especially now in the depths of winter, they're a little touch of spring. M pulled less today than day before yesterday. Still pulled on me, but not as much. She's on our screened porch - it's about sixty degrees right now.

Next up is baking challah, then the cake, then putting lasagna together. While the challah bakes I'm going to clean vacuum cleaner.

Mom had glass leaf shaped dishes my sis said she is going to put NYE foods on them.
Paperwhites make me sneeze a lot. But I love em outside.

Tossed a stack of papers.
Dusted the Ent. center lower 2/3 rds of the shelves.
Photo boxes are working better stacked neatly in one of the slots.
Baskets are now below that.

I have over 2,500 steps now. Over a mi. of steps. went out to mailbox.

Speaking of pickle glass...
Tall pickle jar has paint brushes in it.

I love paperwhites too. But don't have them due to allergies!

Payroll is done. Woot!

Now to write up my share of the newsletters. Then dh and I are walking over to the bank, post office, and he'll update his transit card to show he's a senior. That means free rides on Sundays and Wednesdays for him. And discounts on his fare.

I probably still have glass pickle serving dish but it is stored and never used. When I get to that area to do deep cleaning & decluttering then it will be given away so someone can get joy from it.
Does anyone use a Tupperware pickles container? I've had mine for decades and it is used daily. I have 3 of these type of containers in assorted colors so they are easy to distinguish and grab from refrigerator.
Green container = dill pickles
Orange container = sliced jalapeno peppers
White container = pickled okra

I ordered 3 pizzas from a local place and picked it up for lunch. This wasn't my best idea, but lunchtime arrived, and I didn't have anything ready for the family to eat.

I need to regroup. I sat down and put my feet up next to the dog for awhile. I'm tired.

I'll restart at TOTH. Need to get lasagne together and clean up kitchen after, and empty dishwasher. Going to try for 45 min but my back may not let me. I have 6300 steps. I'll probably walk the dog around the block again later too.
