Twins how did dMillie do with the car ride?

I enjoyed a deviled egg.

I have been working on the zone caving adventures in the cave basement.
Moved a small desk to paint room so glad I have the furniture dolly there I knew I would need it eventually!
Moved a small triangle side table out to donate eventually.
Put paint & brushes in paint room.
This helped with my step count today yea!

Journaling is done.
Found two boxes of paperwork one is old enough to sort & shred so that is next up.
Did not sleep well - not dressed yet slept in till 8:10 unusual for me.

Did 3/4 ths of the shredding 2 bags of it
on a break now...
stuff in booklets to tear out and do individually is next

I put away all the dog/cat food for the month!
next eat lunch
dh is sick but won't go to the dr. no fever though which is good.

next: get dd Youngers food for her dog together and mail it on Monday - he is on a strict diet bc of his intestines. Young dog that needs a special low fat diet - he is all muscle so it amazes me how healthy he looks but one bad dog food makes him have intestinal issues. I am used to labs with a eat what ever they can stomach.

Dh really wanted to get out of the house today and made me feel guilty for not wanting to go. So I said I changed my mind and I wanted to go to the mall with him. So we went. Parking lot was packed and dh didn't want to have to walk from one end of the mall to the other. We finally found a parking spot, even though it wasn't a disabled spot, it was close to a door. We went in, it was busy in the hall ways. We went to the store that he had a gift card for. There weren't any shoes in the brand he likes. There were expensive shoes for rich skate boarders and basketball players. Nothing under $100. No clothes in his size or even close to his size. When we were in the store, dh sat down. When we left the store, dh went and sat on a nearby bench. I asked if he wanted to walk around or go to any other stores. He said he was done. We left the mall and drove home and now dh is "stretching out" on the bed. We decided to ask a young man dh knows if he wants to buy the gift card from dh.

Supper tonight will be a chicken pot pie from the freezer and dh has requested a package of instant mashed potatoes to go with the pie.

It happened pretty quickly, Dee. The mother of our next door neighbor passed away on Tuesday and her dog, Millie, was staying with dneighbors, who have two French bulldogs, and three teens between the two of them. They thought of us, since it's been awhile since Muffin passed away, and I've said I'd like another dog when one comes along. So Millie auditioned here and has decided to stay. She's sweet, shy and quiet, about 50 lbs. and five years old, so she's not a puppy anymore and is used to a quiet home. So we have a dog again and will get the invisible fence.

Nancy, she was good with the car ride but the vet had her pretty stressed out, particularly the nail trimming. Hopped up into the car and out, no hesitation, thank goodness. I remember I practically had to push Muffin up into the car and she was a pretty big gal.

Dh is going to Petsmart today for some things.

We're going to a small dinner party tonight at friends - I think we will know everyone there well. I suspect we will head home before midnight.

Two pans of lasagna are in the oven. The oven only works when it wants to so it will be interesting to see if it wants to be nice today. Thankfully there isn't anything raw in the lasagna, so it just basically needs the oven to work enough to melt cheese and let the flavors meld.

One pan of lasagna will be sent to NYE party DS14 is attending tonight at his best friend's home. The other pan of lasagna will be for our family meal today.

I need to get my mindset back into homeschool mode and start the planning process for next semester.

Hi to everyone. I got to say "Happy New Year" to a delivery person today and he was so receptive, with big wishes back. He delivered our humidifier, which I should have gotten a month ago - my own fault.

Maybe now my dry lips and nose will be better.

Waiting for the email from grocery to come pick up our items. I am suspicious that they don't REALLY have some things. For instance, the Impossible meat they say they have, because when I tried to add one more pack it turned out it wasn't on the normal list, yet they "say" it is in my "cart", leading me to decide not to replace with anything else. If so, this is something that happens with them a lot - online item availability not matching real availability - and may change my shopping habits in the new year.

Each grocery has good qualities and bad ones. Wish there was one clear choice but there really isn't.

I've been watching the rain/forecast/radar, also, and think I've chosen a time that is the least rain of the day. Hope so.

LadyM, the 14-year-old here is slim and just nudged past the height of his mother, steadily growing. I don't think anyone would miss the physical signs that he is probably a young teen. But I do wonder if there are those with whom your ds comes in contact while alone, who will treat him as an adult and expect adult reactions from him, criticize perhaps, if he sometimes doesn't measure up to their expectations. I do hope he will have good experiences. Maybe he should be counseled to say whenever needed, "Hey, I'm 14, guys - I'm delivering this.", or whatever, to diffuse anyone who is demanding or critical of him. I probably worry too much.

Did shredder duty got 2.5 bags out in the trash. Dumped other trash.
Walked a short walk w ddog a fire work went off so it was cut short a bit.
I still have nearly 5,000 steps in today stood up and sorted envelopes and took some steps doing that glad I thought of that.
Small individual pizza is in the oven for my lunch.
Nice mild weather here today.

I finally washed my kitchen floor after a good vacuuming.
I was so far behind with dd younger here and Christmas. I am definitely a very low visual clutter type of woman! Christmas presents etc. overwhelmed my brain! The real tree has made it's mark all over the first floor! I love a real tree but my goodness the trees do let themselves be known well into the new year!

the only reason I don't like delivery for groceries is the lack of things I am looking for and not replacing the items with something similar.

My nephew had people thinking he was older than he was - same with dd older as she grew tall faster than her peers but stuck to 5'4" from 3rd grade on to now. People treated them as if they were older and that was hard. I think you have a great recommendation!

I had always wished the was a how to tag on our children that would change with every phase/season. Just when I felt I had it right - they changed to a new phase.
re: driving on the highway depends on your state.
I would say that the keys are something he can't have yet - his boss should have talked to you first. If anything gets ruined he will not get his permit and will be liable. I would check with your insurance carrier.

If this was a tractor they usually need to pass a tractor program by 4H or another training provider. (in our state). When I lived in a small town in Wisconsin the farm kids could only allowed 16 year old to drive trucks on the highway. They had to pass a tractor class as well. I remember when our neighbor's boy passed the program; his father was thrilled.

dh is not feeling well - I will have to do his recycling jobs - I know he wants to do it but he is having a hard time.

my d bil has covid and I may get dh a test - he won't call his dr.
He says he feel better but sounds bad.
