Good afternoon!

Color and formatting are among my New Year’s resolutions. :)

Just got through watching the Rose Parade. Was hoping to visit with friends today, but DH kicked off the year with Covid. :( We were supposed to see friends yesterday who have been isolating, so I figured DH, who’d been having some cold symptoms, ought to test. And wouldn’t you know, he was positive. Of course, we’d been at a friend’s NYE party the night before. I texted those whose numbers I knew to give them a heads-up.

I think today will be a day of assessment. Trying to get a handle on what my goals should be and how to get there. Update my cards if nothing else.

I hope Dee and DH are seen quickly and get good news!

Off to get my cards and dig out the organizing notepad my Dfriend got me for my birthday.

It's certainly going around, Mystery. Across the street neighbors have it.

We're heading out to funeral visitation. Hoping to not stay long.

Awww, (((Mystery and dh))) Hope it passes quickly!

I’m starting the new year trying to return to routines.
So far it has taken me almost an hour (!) to get going…
Morning stretches, tidy bed
Weigh, measure myself for first of year
Breakfast, Bible study, morning fiber pills

Getting in shower now!
Tomorrow is another day.

(((Mystery & DH))) Hopefully covid recovery will be easy for you, your family, and friends.

I planted Brussel Sprout and Broccoli seeds indoors in an effort see if the seeds I have on hand are still viable. If they are then I can get an early start on plants that prefer cooler weather. It will take several weeks before they are big enough to transplant outdoors and by that time the harshest winter weather should be over. If the seeds haven't sprouted by Feb 1st, then I'll order fresh seeds.

I sauteed chunks of apples with chicken breast tenderloins in butter. I also fixed 4x ramen noodles as a side dish. I am having kale salad, coleslaw, asparagus, and chicken for my lunch.

DS14 couldn't see the Romeo & Juliet information online. When he tried to access it his computer said that information was restricted. At first I was confused why his computer would restrict R&J information. I can only guess the restriction is because they commit suicide. My laptop doesn't have the same restriction that I have for the kids, so I loaned my laptop to DS14 to use for R&J.

dh has covid and bc of his radiation thick scaring they had to move from out local hospital to another one in our old area - about an hour drive. His breathing tube is small anyway so the scare tissue plus the covid is making it difficult for him.

His chest has a 6 cm. tumor in his lung.

we have to wait until covid is done to get that biopsied.
he is 67 and I never expected this to happen so fast
he just got clearance from his oncologist for his throat.

he is hungry and his evaluation said he can't eat. so he is starving.
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Yikes Blessed that is scary…sending prayers and healing vibes your way. Same for Dee and her dh.

My quick trip for Sweetie to HD took more than three hours and the place was a zoo! He couldn’t find what he wanted the first time so we headed to A ce but they didn’t have what he needed. Want to go back to HD to look again. Oh my. I had to dig deep to find my patience’s.

Came home grabbed a quick 10 minute lunch and headed for the grocery store. It rivaled the zoo found at HD! Both parking places were accidents waiting to happen with people walking across the lot to get to the front door without bothering to look to see if cars were coming. And when trying to backup with the car others just came zooming by both ways with no regards to people trying to get out.

I’m usually pretty call but boy by the second time in the HD parking lot I was spitting nails.

Made it home just as my son stopped by. I had a huge box with things from my moms home waiting for him. Glad to get that out of the house. Never did make it into my office so I guess I’ll move that over to do the first thing in the morning after I go to my exercise class.

Realized I am way behind on my water drinking so guess I better go gulp some down :D

For anyone who'd like to know what the Focus weeks are,

Here's your slide
to the 2023 Focus threads with 2023 Calendar stickied at top, then the 3 explanatory threads stickied following.

I'll be decluttering for the week ahead of each Monday date,
then cleaning during the week of that Monday, which works best for me.

Got all of the floss dealt with and the kitchen table is clear in time to be set for supper.

Earlier I mopped the floor where dh walks to get from the couch to the washroom and I also did the hall between the back door and the living room.
