Coming back through. Glad you're okay too, Nancy. I take it you had a low bs?

I got to the drugstore and dfriend M texted me back about walking with R uby so the dogs could side-eye each other. After M went in I was going to do another lap but a neighbor tween was out walking her two dogs, one of which she probably could not control, so I avoided her and ended up going between houses to get back. I need to give DMillie meds for possible severe T storms beginning after two p.m.

It's seventy degrees out and I'm overheated. Need to give dog meds and work for 45 min, finish a.m. routine and reboot laundry. I'll have lunch after that. I dilly dallied this morning then had to have breakfast and run out in the hurry.

(((Nancy))) I'm glad you are doing okay after that scary BSugar crash. T1 is not easy to manage on a daily/hourly basis. You are so consistent with monitoring all the factors that affect it. Did your dog give you any indication before it happened?

DH has a lifelong friend here visiting. He typically stays for a couple hours talking each time he stops by.

Homeschool is going smoothly today. I made a few changes, and they seem to be a success. I'll continue using the tweaks when I make the assignment plan for next week.

Hello all. Do we all have Ta Da's today? I could be doing better, for sure.

I worked through my inbox, which is a system I'm not sure works very well for me. I used to just stack up right in the middle of my desk surface all the things I need to take care of and when I had time I would do those things and deal with that paper. Somewhere along the line I decided I didn't want to see that stuff there and I began using my little inbox that sits at the back corner of my desk so things looked neater. I do not like to see clutter anywhere. Well, it's easy to ignore that inbox stuff and I find it gets done less often. Stuff piled on top keeps me from finding things sometimes.

Anyway, I must make an effort to look through that stuff more often. I'd been looking for a bank statement which I couldn't find and I went through the box and it was underneath everything and it goes back to November. Well, I did that statement and I discovered several automatic things I was supposed to put in the register in December and I never did. December was a hard month for me. I was trying to get the holiday together and lots of time out of the house. Then I got sick and never got caught up. I actually had to make a whole new register page because I had it so messed up.

Mystery, how is your DH doing? I thought you said he had tested positive for Covid?

I have 2 things OMM that I actually don't want to do but I must. That's my goal for today.

Good luck with your book, Harriet. I am trying a new one too... I wish I had those stickers you talk about! I've found this one has Sat. and Sun smaller squares side by side and I dislike that system, because I often get as much done those days as weekdays and there's not enough writing room.

I am going to muddle through the rest of a.m. routine and then might even nap. I am just tired today and don't have it.

Some ta das for the day, though:
-picked up meds at drugstore
-body work
-set up invisible fence appt tomorrow
-paid a cemetery bill online
-got ddog to take pill. (She is wary of taking food from our hand for some reason. I had to put the pill in pnut butter and a slice of turkey and sit down and watch it on the coffee table in the living room. And she loved it of course, people food!)
-refilled meds containers, should have been done on Sunday

Storms are just west of us, ddog is on the porch snoozing. I'm going to try to finish at least a.m. routine and perhaps rest.

I made chicken alfredo for the family. It turned out soooo good. It is probably the best alfredo sauce that I've ever made. Although I'm tempted to keep tasting it, I'm choosing to eat what I made for my lunch - Grilled Tilapia, summer squash, and kale salad. I do love the taste of my food and once I walked away from the alfredo, I'm okay with not eating it.

Our vehicle is not going to be ready to pickup from the body shop this afternoon. The owner was once again over optimistic how fast they could do the final tasks.

Well I got pulled off from working on my office again!!!

Sweetie has been in search of a small irrigation piece that he needs. Said he found it at Lowes. I was in the middle of doing focus stuff, but begrudgingly said I would take him there if he PROMISED not to need me for tomorrow...He doesn't drive anymore so this is why I am having to take him places.

I headed to the closest Lowe's only to find he wanted to go to the other one which is another 10 miles away. Another miscommunication on his part. Of course the traffic was awful, but I had to keep reminding myself this miscommunication thing with Sweetie is a part of my life now. I had to talk to him the other day as he will tell me things and leave out important information and when I question him about it he gets mad. He feels like I am criticizing him, which of course I'm not. Let it go several time last week, but the other day had to kindly address this problem with him. It is a fine road I walk when I have to have those types of conversations with him.

Anyway that sucked up much of my needed time in my office. I have gathered all my needed documents for my DAR Sponsor and am getting ready to meet with her.

As y'all might have predicted, I'm not starting off today quite as energetic as I was yesterday, but if dh would get out of the bedroom, I would vacuum in there.
I have s2s (but no make-up) and colored my hair AND did the Merle Norman facial mask.
Also did Bible reading and devotional, morning stretches, ate, took my fiber pills, straightened bed covers. Went to post office with dh.
Folded load of clothes that was on top of washer. (Need to wet & re-tumble dgs' shirt. Nice R L auren t-shirt and it is VERY wrinkled.)

We are under a tornado watch, and a flood watch, and it is pouring down rain -- but seems awfully cool to have serious storms, so I think we'll be okay, weather-wise. * just checked -- it's only 60 degrees now * Messy night to be heading over to dbil's.

Missed a phone call from doctor's office. DH is going to be so delighted * NOT * to hear from them. Sigh.

Twins, I meant to tell you how much I love the quote you started us with on New Year's Eve --
Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense. -Ralph Waldo Emerson
It is one of my absolute favorites. I tend to allow myself to be "encumbered with (my) old nonsense" waaay too much of the time.

(((Rose))) I am sorry you have to deal with this miscommunication issue with Sweetie. I know it gets frustrating. There are lots of times that dh here accuses me of not telling him something, and I am 99% positive I DID, or he tells me something and I forget -- either way we both get angry sometimes about these situations. And I don't think either of us have a medical condition that causes this, other than getting older and simply not always paying close attention.

Good for you on staying away from the alfredo, LadyM!
Grilled tilapia sounds awfully good too. Unfortunately, I don't like a lot of vegetables, so that contributes to my poor eating habits a lot.

Harmony -- my dmom has the same system as you started with. Only it is usually her kitchen table that is covered with paper! She has a nice office as well, with a large desk, but somehow, mail gets dropped at the table as she comes in the door, and sometimes it doesn't even get opened immediately. She gets a TON of junk mail and solicitations, because when she was depressed in the first year of so after ddad's death, she ordered a bunch of stuff, and gave to a lot of charities. And of course, being in the hospital so long last month, the pile is becoming ridiculous. Anyway -- she said I was going to have to come out and do some filing for her.
DH is too OCD for anything like that to happen here. We discard junk mail before we leave the post office, bills are often paid before we leave, and dh "files" immediately upon return home. LOL -- his filing system is insane, though -- there are stacks in all the lower kitchen cabinets and drawers that we don't use for food and dishes. I would REALLY love to change this, get some real filing cabinets, and get some order to all this -- even though we don't need the space for anything else -- but... you choose your battles.

Glad Nancy is having a better day!!!

Mystery, thanks for the compliments on my day yesterday! Glad your dh is still having mild symptoms and is able to work from home.

More (((HUGS))) and prayers for blessed and dh. And YES, ditto what Rose said -- whether you check in or not, there are people here praying for you and thinking of you at anytime of the day. Some people are up really early and some people (me!) or up really late, so anytime you need a listening ear, you can probably find one here in this little village.

Planner talk with Harriet & Harmony ... I really like the Prayerful Planner. It seems to have space for me to write the daily to-dos, and I could put more of the zone stuff/etc on each weekly spread. Plus, there is an 8th column where I put the weekly "need to/want to" things that don't have a particular time deadline. Between each week, there are two pages, one for sermon notes and the other for weekly reflection. I usually put gratitude lists there, or inspirational quotes, or something like that.
The Passionate Penny Pincher planner is really nice, but I don't see myself ever being able to really follow all the tasks she lists there. So it would need a lot of re-doing to make it actually fit my life.
I did think today, there is nothing that really replaces the cards and my own personal checklist. I liked the PPP planner because she has daily checklists, that SORTA fit my own, but would need to be re-done. On her FB page, a lot of people talk about re-doing them and printing on sticker paper. Well, someone finally pointed out that if you add 52 stickers to the top of you planner pages, you have basically made the top of the book 52 pages thicker, and the pages won't lay flat! This planner is sooo colorful and pretty, but that is not the real purpose of a planner, is it?
So, I am going to continue with my original plan
* to use this planner more as a guide book
* to use the Prayerful Planner as my basic journal/planner for things that don't have cards, or to just "organize" the cards in a better visual for myself
* to rely on the 3x5s for those recurring things and reminders, because the 3x5s never fail
* to keep my own checklist as I designed it some years ago, and use those check marks to make me feel "rewarded."
Tomorrow is another day.

Gosh, I don't have many Ta Da's to say about today. I need to get busy around here.

I was watching the voting on TV and I mentioned that to DH and he changed the station to watch it too. He and I began talking about what was actually going on and what it meant.... and we discovered that between the two of us, we don't understand actually how our government works. I guess I never really had a class in civics when I was in school. I do remember studying the constitution and the separation of our powers... and I knew some things...but I had some of that backwards. So I've been coming back to the computer looking stuff up.

Well that took up a lot of time. I tend to just assume stuff is running the way it's supposed to be running. The reason I wondered about today was this is the first time in 100 years they've had a vote like this. I wanted to know why.

So, I guess not getting much done is the price I paid for knowledge.

I'm wondering, LadyM, do you have civics as part of your homeschool curriculum? Just curious. I don't know how I missed learning all this. Three cheers for the internet. I understand it NOW!

Harmony, I've been following today off and on. They just adjourned for the day after another unsuccessful vote.

I had a decent nap. Probably too long. Took awhile to settle because of the storm blowing through but dog was fine with the thunder and I was able to sleep.

I need to get dog up and walk around the block with her. Dh will probably come through here soon on his way to bowling but I doubt he'll want to walk her.
