Sounds like I need to start trick training here to catch up!

Walked two laps and have more than half the steps I need today. I compute the average steps i need daily for the rest of the week to get to the goal. I'm ahead of goal but need to keep my steps up because Saturday - the last day of the step week - is usually a light day. We walked part of the circle with an older neighbor and her West Highland Terrier, Sam. Millie growled at first but was wagging her tail so we kept the intro going and the two sniffed about and M wanted to play, I think. We walked parallel the rest of the circle and they were fine.

Supper is pork chops with apples and onions and either butternut squash or broccoli.

Heading upstairs.

I have been on the computer all morning and into the afternoon as well although dh made me break for my breakfast at 12:30.

I have still not showered.

I have a major email mess which is causing cascading problems. Three years of ignoring email will do that to a person.

In the process of trying to figure out stuff, we managed to delete every email I sent in 2018.

Ironically, part of the process is trying to understand how to back up the email. But in a particular way. What I wanted to do was backup my email, then delete most of the backed up stuff from my current profile but be able to go back to the backup profile and see the deleted email. Today I learned that while the profiles may have separate names, they share a data base and deleting a folder on one deleted it on the other. Not only that, I have the trash can emptied each time I close the program and I was doing that to switch between profiles so those emails are now gone.

This program allows you to back up email but onto a separate device (USB stick or portable hard drive.) Saving it elsewhere on the computer doesn't seem to work. Dh is stumped. The issue is, if you backup and delete from the current file you can't look at your old emails without losing the ones that came since the backup was done.

So I've semi-processed 1000 emails so far today and have another 1500 to go. Somehow I have to learn to live with this program. I'm honestly not sure how that will work but there's an archive function that might be what I originally wanted.

On the plus side, I found something I couldn't find by using the search of my Gmail account online.

On the negative side, my neck is sore from all the tension and repetitive motions.

Oh I love reading the pet stories here. I think they learn these tricks because they like the interaction with us! Y'all have some really smart pets! I really like when dogs will respond to hand signals, because that's the way we can stop them from getting hit by a car or something when they might not be able to hear our voice.

Kathryn, that is overwhelming the amount of definitions! I looked at all your links. However, when Harriet talked about washiness, my brain did not go to the wishy washy definition, I thought about when we're tidying up and wiping / washing all the things in our path. I guess washiness has nothing to do with that, going instead to being indecisive. I like the other definition better. Walking around with my spray bottle of all purpose cleaner and my rag as I wipe up spots, get rid of dust, etc. Now, I don't think we're supposed to be wishy washy. Right is right and wrong is wrong. If we can't come up with a reason or a solution, pick the most likely but caution against the other reasons. That's not totally wishy washy, right?

Well, anyway, moving on from all that......

I worked on my study this morning. It was deep and I was stuck answering the questions.... so I did my best though I didn't get far in my book today. Actually, my mind was on another problem at the time. I've been wondering how to organize a room that is about 11' x 11' which has a small closet. I think I should be able to manage in there but it always seems cluttered to me. It has a queen bed in the middle which takes up most of the room and a cabinet sewing machine in one corner. The closet has 1 usable shelf. My end table is very tiny, the table on the other side small too. Those can't be changed because then the door won't have room to open all the way.

So, today I reorganized a linen closet right outside that room and put sewing stuff in there, which meant a couple things (plastic tablecloths) to the china closet, and I set up a 3-drawer little cabinet on top of my clothes cabinet (small). Anyway, rearranging stuff I have better room and it's not ideal but better and should be less cluttered. It is true, if things aren't easy to put away, they're going to live all over the tops of our surfaces.

I decluttered the bottom section of my china closet, my linen closet, and some boxes left over from Christmas. I did a bit in my laundry room too. Another cabinet in my kitchen got reorganized. I am working on the theory that 1 person should be able to have their stuff in 1 room, anything more is too much stuff. Well, I continue to work on it.

Kathryn, I guess there are important reasons you need to keep all those emails? I don't keep more than 25, but I don't have many important ones... I do keep charge emails until bills come and when all is well, product received and charged appropriately, then I delete. I no doubt keep more paper than you do, though.

No news from Dee, yet?

I'm staying on track so far today.

Homeschool is finished with a smile on both of our faces.
The first 7 hourly scheduled tasks are done.
Two mini meals have been eaten.
The first 5 hourly step goal met.
I've spent part of every hour in the garden because we have bright sunshine & no wind. It is one of the best weather days this year, so I am enjoying being outside. It will be returning to winter weather soon.

I keep checking for news from Dee...

Yes -- washiness in the sense of wishy-washy = No good...
Washiness in the sense of mopping floors when one can't remember the last time that was done = Very good
(Not that I am actually mopping any floors around here today.)

Waiting on bug lady right now... I am s2s and I ate breakfast but that is as far as I have gotten.

I have realized (somewhat late to the party I'm sure y'all are thinking) -- but I have realized I am the Queen of Unfinished Projects...
SOOOO MANY things I have great ideas about and want to start but I just dilly-dally my day away (in wishy-washiness?) and get NOTHING done.
Just for starters...
-- a photo book with Bible verses that I wanted to do and started YEARS ago
-- my great-grandmother's story
-- sayings of my granny (ds' request)
I am going to make a new effort at this and complete something in 2023.
Tomorrow is another day.

HA!

At most you are just a lowly duchess of unfinished projects!

I AM THE QUEEN!

Still needing to put the pictures from our 4 months in England into a memory book. That was in 1987.

As for recent unfinished projects, too numerous to list. But that's why I'm in such a tizzy these days. I need to get the accounting done for the residents group. To do that, I need to finish updating Quicken because there were expenses for the residents group but I don't remember what. And then there's the having to get the history of complex finished (3 small updates) and then printed (bigger challenge.) And that should have been finished in 2020.

The more I think about it, the more overwhelmed I get. There are people depending on me finishing these things.

Hello, all! I have Wednesday Drowsiness. Yet another gloomy day coupled with going to bed too late.

No word yet on Dee and Mr. Dee, huh? Continued prayers….

Glad I do not have Kathryn’s computer woes.

I will fight Kathryn and lucylee for Queen of Unfinished Projects.

Nothing much new here. I did a small grocery run in the way back from dropping DC at school, but I forgot to take along DD’s Christmas returns to drop off at the FedEx place on the way back from picking DC up. Drat. Will have to do it tomorrow. It was much easier when this company provided a mail return label; the post office is not so far out of the way that I would feel the need to pair it with another errand.

I haven’t touched the breakfast or lunch dishes yet; those and the bathroom are next on the list.

Hoping the rest of the day is good to everyone!

I too keep hoping for update from Dee.

I uploaded the syllabus for my class next week to have it printed. Although I'm fine following along on the screen it's easier to have a paper copy for future reference.

Took the dog out earlier and got the mail, walked her around in the yard without walking a lap around the circle. She's sleeping on the day bed up here.

For the record genealogy projects are NEVER finished. There's always two more parental people to research.
