dh (rick) failed his swallow test yesterday and is having to a peg tube put in at 2pm central time. My heart hurts for him. He accepted me cleaning him up after a bathroom accident. So sad.
He was turned down by the local rehab place as they see his case is too complex.
my brother wants dd younger to come back to Florida as he has been there already 19 days.
dd younger wants to be in Florida and here for dh. She is torn. She misses her friends and her life there.

dd older is struggling with work as they are not expanding her to other areas - she doesn't have a CPA but does that work on a regular basis as part of the property building for her boss and in a lot of different areas where she has to work with architects and engineers. She is bored for the first time in 6 years and wants to learn more in the financial area (as she does that already).

Coming back through. In an hour I'll be needing to prep to go to workout.

-finish kitchen clean up from last night, breakfast and now lunch, when I spilled a container of basil on the floor. '
-pack up a return to go to UPS store
-walk the dog a couple of laps (only got one this morning)
-feed the dog, trying to get on a schedule of late afternoon feeding but bowl is currently nearly empty and she hasn't eaten much since yesterday a.m. (wrestle new large bag of dry dog food to kitchen, and later, find a new home for it.)
-spend a few minutes straightening MBR - dcleaning lady comes tomorrow....

I went to p/u at Staples but had neglected to tell them to bind it. This is the syllabus for the webinar next week. If I had been thinking I would have had it printed on both sides - it was well over 200 pages.

bw2, thinking of you and dh and your ddaughters.

Harriet: thanks for pointing me to the Kelly Clarkson video. Except now I'm on the show's youtube channel and started to go down a rabbit hole watching all the clips from that show with Dolly.

I'm setting that aside to save for later.

time for work:
I am heading over to the hospital at 2:00 - waiting on phone calls.

I am amazed on how things happen all at once. I don't believe in bad or good luck but just life moves in different ways.

choosing the positive outlook after a bit of readjusting after a hard couple days).

next: work in three season room after I take my meds.
make dinner for tonight.

Good afternoon! Glad to see an update from Dee when I CUOPed. (And an update from blessed just now.) We’ve got to get these husbands (including Ken) well!

CUOPing also reminded me that I needed to take DDs clothes to be returned, so I did that on the way back from taking DC to school.

I need to make a cake today or tomorrow. Our monthly girls’ night is tomorrow. Most months, we do a themed pot luck at someone’s house, and those of us who do book club arrive an hour early. But this month, we’re going to a Japanese restaurant for dinner. It was my month to pick the book (Agatha Christie’s The Mysterious Affair at Styles), but we’re getting together at my Dfriend’s house after dinner to discuss, so I figured since it was my book, that I ought to bring dessert along. I found a recipe for a matcha pound cake. Ooh, I’ve got to remember to get to the bank! I’ll need to get change for tipping, and I’ve got a couple of checks that need depositing.

Next up, I really need to get a load in the washer, but first, I’ll check the mail. Have a good evening, everyone!

blessed, this is a difficult time. I can see how torn your ddyounger would be right now. Undoubtedly there are areas of care in which she is better for her grandmother than her uncle is, but what a time to need to leave your household. Just because one rehab place doesn't see themselves (itself) capable doesn't mean others will be that way. I am hoping better answers come soon. Thinking about you so much.

Mystery, what a great choice for book and cake (matcha : so sophisticated - my goodness).

Twins', didn't you have a pro helping you with exercise decisions? I'm sure you're supposed to be honest and ask for advice if things need to be tweaked and there's an expert looking at it with you. "This is why we pay the big bucks." lol, but do ask questions.

I have spent an hour on cronometer online after reading stuff I'll post elsewhere. I'm a little disillusioned with the extent of some changes I want to make in my everyday eating if I want significant differences. I put in small cookies I ate yesterday and the visual truth of the (exact name brand and type) nutrition info on them was a real eye-opener. I just can't always eat with HRH, either, since our goals are not the same all the time.

I'm a little scattered. Just remembered I left a washed and scrubbed sweet potato on a cutting board in the kitchen without doing anything with it. (bopping head)

Brought DH home later this afternoon. Stopped on the way so auto repair shop that we know could run diagnostics. Now the engine light stays on (I did the gas cap thing) and the battery light stays on. But they say the battery is fine. No idea what's going on with that. Tried to call the Home Health # but evidently was too late in the day. I'll try again in the morning after I take dh to the cardiologist. Need to get my list of ?'s ready for that visit (8am).

I laid down a while after we came home and really slept. I was beat. .

Dh is in taking his first shower in days. I have my ear tuned for sure.

Took dsonil to pick up the VW from the car shop first thing this morning. They couldn't fix it. He took it to the VW shop and they just called with the cost: $4,600  :o . We've been tellng him for months that he needs to get rid of it. Repairs are so horribly expensive. Just an oil change is unbelievable. He only used it as an 'extra'. But first it has to be fixed -something with the brake system.

Need to figure something for our dinner. DD and Dsonil are going to Trivia -he mainly because he likes to eat. I'll probably finish up the last of my leftovers from the hospital cafeteria. Then I'm back to my losing weight streak (I hope). Been sitting for way too many days.

Got my hair cut/styled this morning. Felt soooooooo good! Had to rebook dh's appointment -made one for Wednesday. Hope he's up to it by then.

Okay -off to make my list for the cardiologist.
Begun is half done -SO! JUST BEGIN!!

Spent the day tidying up the library. I had a few stacks of stuff that needed to be shelved. I took a good look around to see what books I have no intention of reading. Now I have 2 stacks of books that I will take to a local senior's center that has a beautiful library.

Kathryn I saw something about a McDonalds closing in Ottawa on/near Rideau. I don't know how close to you that is or if it's your local one.

Leftovers have been consumed. Chicken drumsticks on the menu for tomorrow night. Probably with mashed potatoes although there are a lot, so maybe boiled would be good.

Shock of shocks, dh wants to go to the arena for a walk around the inside walking track.
