~~~waving Hi to everyone~~~~
((((Group Hugs))) for all that is happening in our SHE village.
My morning is going smoothly, and I am mostly following my hourly schedule. I'm not rigid about it but use it as a reminder of what I want to accomplish and to give me several indicators & feedback of how I am doing. On the days that I just can't stay up with my hourly schedule then I know I am struggling mentally, emotionally and or getting physically sick.
DD46 came this morning 2 minutes before I typically take DD11 to school. DD46 knows our schedule and uses it so she can show up and can quickly leave. She gave hugs to everyone that was in the living room and then took DD11 to school. DD46 didn't greet or hug DS14 since he was in his bedroom. That 2 minutes of time spent with DD11 will most likely be it for the next week or two.
How to read tape measure. This seems like such an easy thing to do but it is something that DS14 struggles with. I've explained to him, DH has shown him, his boss had told him how....but it just doesn't stick. His boss told DS14 that he will get a raise when he can accurately and consistently use a tape measure. I went looking for the basic 101 tape measuring training and found several. I have added two tape measuring assignments in addition to the daily homeschool classes. Today DS14 tape measuring assignments are to watch videoand do a worksheet that Icreated using this online tape measuring generator.. I know I have said this before......but I am so very thankful for the smart people who put these types of resources online and available to everyone. Pick any skill or subject you want to learn and there is most likely training available online. How cool is that?!!
Home Health Care is coming today for dh in a 2-hour window (12-2). How I hate these "windows", but a necessary evil.
Got a new chart (thinking much of Lady M here) made out today for dh's exercises. He has several and most multiple times a day. He did walk out to the shop for a little while and I count that as exercise too. Think he's to have PT twice a week for a while. I found a little quote in a story I was reading last night. I've copied it and posted it on top of his stat sheet:
“He should have been grateful just to be home instead of fretting about all he couldn’t do, but it was hard to be helpless. Still if he could MANAGE A LITTLE MORE EACH DAY, he’d see progress. He just had to make up his mind to it.”
Who knows, maybe it'll help someone else. I've long told dh to look back at progress not where he's at right now.
I've been busy since early this morning. Got the dishwasher emptied, dishes done up, spiffed the kitchen, living room and dining room. Spent a fair amount of time folding blankets (2 for dh and 2 of dsonil's -he never folds his and they just plain look messy. Dh OTOH always folds his -except for right now). Made our bed and did a fair amount of paperwork for dh. Still need to make out a new med sheet for his GP -appointment at 9:30 tomorrow. Know his cardiologist told us to take his BP after he'd been up a while and be sure his systolic BP was over 100. If below we're supposed to hold off on taking Metoprolol. It was 116 today. Hurray for our side! He's resting right now.
Oh, Twins'. I am pulling for the ordinary answer to be the one. I'd have liked a little quicker informing, but I am glad that there's one thing off your plate tomorrow. Get tested and call dr if it's positive, to have another opinion on whether you would need prescription.
We have had a frayed morning. Dd24 had vehicle trouble and spent the night with her sister. She drove over here this morning so her Dad could see it rather than asking her Dad to come get her. What's wrong with that picture? He checked under the hood and fears that in driving just this short distance she might have made it worse. Yes, HRH was struggling to be calm with her, but he managed.
He's also very disappointed that his eyesight doesn't let him quickly fix car trouble anymore. He's not as confident, and "needs another set of eyes" with him - that would not be me. I suggested DangerBoy, but even though DangerBoy would love to learn, he is not yet experienced, plus has classes most of the day, then total responsibility for his household later this afternoon. HRH really needs ds (on vacation) or dstepson (on tough work schedule). Even though dd43 would be a competent helper, she is covered up with her own work and the boys' school, plus has an in-person private presentation to the Provost this afternoon.
Dd24 can't help because her work is sending her on a 3-day trip for a show/convention thing. So she just had to borrow my truck and take off. She won't be able to get back here for days, but thankfully others are driving.
I'm glad all my children are gainfully employed, but we are hardly capable of taking over in their absences.
Also, the morning had to be spent on Dreaded Phone Calls (my nemesis) and Computer Trouble (HRH's nemesis).
So, yes, frayed.
And so cheerful! Don't you think? :lol:
Forgot I was going to say earlier: DS-R, DDIL & DGS18 are driving down around 2/1 for Dbil's Memorial service (2/4). DS-A booked a flight 2/1 but DS-R reached out & asked him to ride with them. So glad that happened. I think it might be good for them all. They plan to drive back the 6th.
We're also wondering what to do about dbil's place. Neighbors behind called his caretakers yesterday. There were lights there around 10pm night before but noone had been there. Caretakers were going over today. Think DS-R will have to do something for security. His place is quite secluded, with his driveway going back past his DSisil's place and it's a ways behind hers. She's supposed to be out of there by Thursday I think. The people who live behind him are somewhat unsavory so they would definitely know when noone is around.
Dee…
Guess your ds will have to install security cameras and post no trespassing signs on the property. Would also notify police or sheriffs department that the property is now vacant and can they keep an eye on it. Posting no trespassing signs would legally help if people are caught on the property without permission.
I am taking a break. Started working in my office and ended up rearranging my closet. This house lack storage space big time. I’ve got to find a company who can install cabinets in my laundry room and garage so I can breathe.
Oh want a conundrum you are facing Harriet. Glad you have a positive outlook with your dd’s car.
Nancy and LadyM … thanks for the hugs. Blessed… hope you have a good day with your DH.
Thanks for the hint about the "No Trespassing" signs, RR. DD did call the sheriff's department last night and asked that the area be under surveillance as they can. We'll pick up some signs later today when Dsonil goes to Har bor F reight.
I'm overdue for a nap.
Progressing on planning but not doing. On the housework side of things, bed is stripped and remade, fresh towels out, plants watered and clocks wound. I've had breakfast and tidied up those dishes. Laundry is progressing, the third load goes in the washer in a few minutes.
Ds just booked me for a Thursday to cover for him so he can pick up a shift. I'm free that day but that won't always be true. As for TG needing me to cover for her regular shifts, either she hasn't updated the calendar or February is light because I only see 2 days back to back so have proposed to keep him overnight in between so he has only one 5:45 start that week instead of two (the same would be true for me!)
I will be tired those days due to the residents' association stuff the day before but there's no getting around that. I have asked for the day before to be off so I can go into those 3 days in a row rested.
Now to flip the laundry and take a nap.
Dmom took herself to Next Town this morning for x-ray (pulmonologist’s request in advance of appointment tomorrow) but asked if I would drive her here to Other Town for appointment with neurologist. Just a regular 3-month check up.) So I am sitting in her car now, waiting on her. She said they wouldn’t let me go in with her.
And I need to use the restroom…
Church meeting tonight.
I made a double batch of cheesy hamburger pasta dish for the family. I'm cooking myself liver with a side of black-eyed peas.
Homeschool went smoothly and DS14 went to work.
I got a call from school that DD11 needed fresh underwear and pants. I reminded DD11 this morning that she needed to be prepared for it to start today but for whatever reason a change of clothing was necessary. Thankfully, it was easy to grab the clean clothes and it is a quick trip there/back
