I’m back from my grocery and Walgreen run. I am making lasagna soup for dinner tonight. Never made it before but it sounds good and I want to try it in case it’s good enough to use for company. I also have a receipt for carrot bread which I am anxious to try.

I’d like to invite the kids over for dinner this weekend. I have several things I like to make that are my sons favorite, but my ddil isn’t doing dairy at the moment because my grandson has been allergic to it and she is still breast feeding him. So perhaps I’ll just do something simple live chicken and veggies.

My son loves all my cranberry/orange breads I make so I may try out the carrot on on him. It also has pineapple and nuts in it which makes it sound almost like carrot cake. It calls for a bit of buttermilk but I couldn’t buy a small amount of it…so I’ll do like I usually do, make my own with milk and vinegar.

Next up, clean Fred’s home and then I’ll make my soup.

Btw.. those furniture disks that go under the furniture to help move it works great on carpet. I used them in my other home all the time.

Good afternoon! Lost a long post earlier. Need to get my butt in gear. I still need to clean up lunch — and breakfast, for that matter! And we’re low enough on dishes that I need to run the dishwasher before dinner.

My bed is unmade, too, but that’s deliberate. I need DH to help me attempt to put it to rights. The new blanket that we got at Christmas doesn’t seem to want to stay tucked, and it has been slowly creeping upward. Meanwhile, I have come to the conclusion that I put the quilt on wrong, and it needs to be turned 90 degrees. At any rate, it is a job that will be easier with four hands than with two.

Good to see Dove here. Hoping blessed’s DH only looks worse because of the stress of moving and will be better tomorrow.

Going to hit the cards to see if I can’t make a dent before I need to pick up DC.

We are expecting a storm, so I ran a bunch of errands this morning, including both banks and both local grocery stores. Dropped off an oversized martini glass to a local yarn shop for them to use to display stuff. I used to have small Christmas balls in it for decoration.

Supper will be turkey drumsticks done on a sheet pan in the oven. I also bought dh some mushrooms to have with his turkey. I will make a box of stuffing that gets cooked on the stove. Probably mashed potatoes and green peas.

I slept really well last night. Dh had yet another rough night.

Aaarrrggghhhh! Appointment with new Primary for dh went extremely well this morning. He agreed that for dh to have this 'swallow the pill camera' test way in to April was unacceptable. So he gave us homework to see if our insurance could find another person who did it within a 50-mile radius or so. The one Dr here who does it was into April. BUT! The gal I talked to on Friday about scheduling called about 30 minutes ago. They had given her a time of 1:20, Saturday, February 4th. Argh! Dbil's Memorial Service is at 1 on that day. Anything else I'd have moved heaven and earth to change. So, she's calling them back to see what they can do. Thinking positive here.

First: (((Mystery))) That was a heck of a day you had yesterday. I have had days like that and reacted just about the same way, let dh cook dinner and I just watched TV!

I've now cuop.

I had a pretty good day yesterday, getting about 75% of the house blessing done. But I slowed down too much in the evening and didn't get the mass email sent.

I got to bed at 10:20 and was up at 5:50 to go get dgs. That was too early for my kettle so I had to trigger the boil and got dressed and the bed made while waiting for that, then the dishwasher emptied while my tea steeped. Also remembered my meds.

Dgs is quite congested in his chest so was up and down today. He was happy or cuddly, not whiny or very teary. He didn't eat much either. We went to the social room and I labeled and numbered the Residents' associations 34 folding chairs. Then we went outside and watched the giant crane for a bit. We missed the big lifting of the materials off the roof but saw it lifting and shifting things around lower to the ground.

Then we did 'music class' with Miss Rachel and had lunch. He was so tired he had his soother in, would take it out, have a bit, then put the soother back in while he summoned the strength for another bite. He slept for 90 minutes and I slept for 45 and then he woke up miserable and so there was a long cuddle. He had not had his milk, so I included that in the cuddle. Then he played for a bit until I decided to take him to his mom to save time for her.

Dh had his walk and picked up my meds for me. On the way back from the hospital (where I dropped off dgs), I took the car through the car wash.

As Cathy said, there's a storm on its way. I'll get it about 12 hours after her, so tomorrow evening. I have dgs tomorrow. On Thursday the storm is set to continue and I have a dental appointment out in the rural village. Sigh....

I'm resting a bit now before thinking about dinner. Dh didn't start the shake & bake chicken and is on a call now so I think I'll switch to grilled cheese and bacon sandwiches with soup.

The snow falling today has been beautiful. No wind and HUGE snowflakes that look like feathers floating. This isn't a winter storm with ice, wind and cold temperature. It feels more like a gift of visiting winter wonderland for a few hours.

I've filled the multiple vitamin containers for February so that task is done until March.

I spent over an hour in the kitchen cooking with the result of 3 hungry kids and DH having been fed twice.

Done for the day, there is homework again, of course. Dh has come through and gone on to bowl tonight.
