Cathy, I was thinking of going through my slacks too. My dress ones are all fine. I need to look at my every day ones and pare down the ones I'm not wearing any more. I used to wear them every day in the winter or even out to the store because they are nice and in good shape. But they look baggy on me now and I don't like them. So, if I donated the ones that I'm not wearing any more I'd have more room in that closet.

Yesterday I bought a bin to put extra things in, using the bookcase that's right outside the office bathroom door. I am using that bathroom now but that bathroom is tiny with not much storage. It's a pedestal sink with no storage. I just have the wood medicine mirrored chest above that and 1 windowsill. I really should put a shelf in that room, above the towel rack maybe. Still figuring out my organization back here.

I was too tired to do much work yesterday. But I did go and pick up an Rx and then get groceries. I ended up being out later than I usually am, and DH called me, he seemed in a bit of a panic that I wasn't there to make supper. I asked him why he just didn't make something... and he was still reading the cookbook when I got home. Together we put together something to eat.

So today I got my study all caught up and dailies done. DH wanted to go work on those gutters, but I put him off because it's an early day today for him as he goes to youth group tonight. I don't know that tomorrow will be better for us since we have our small group and I must get something to take as I signed up for that. Friday I'm out...maybe Friday afternoon... sigh Saturday seems better. Am I just putting off this job..yeah I guess so.

Reconciled a bank account. Why did it take my bank 25 days to get my statement to me?

RamblinRose, I looked up that lily...it is called a Spider Lily along with the name you used. The flowers have those flowing long petals that resemble a spider I guess. Is that what you are trying to grow? I think they are usually grown from bulbs and I saw a lot of bulbs for the different Lilies at WM yesterday. Pretty.

Harriet, doesn't the vinegar annoy your acid reflux? I have to be careful with that.

We are having another day with no school. This time it is because the entire town (region) lost electricity around 4:30am with the hope it would be restored in 3-4 hours. I saw on FB the school cook typically starts preparing food at 5am and couldn't. They decided to cancel school. My kids are thrilled with this decision.

I have been doing some deep cleaning and decluttering in three different rooms. It feels good to be making progress even if it is just a few feet at a time. Once an area/room is decluttered & deep cleaned then it is easy to keep it that way with just a few minutes of effort each day.

I decided to add decorative pillow covers to my monthly decorating theme. I ordered 4 pillow covers for February that I plan to use in the living room. I like changing the decoration theme each month and it keeps me from getting bored with the same thing.

DS14 has someone here during his lunch to look at the artic cat (4 wheeler). This was a hard and expensive lesson for DS14. He was so proud of finding an awesome 4-wheeler but then DS14 let his friend drive it and the friend got it stuck in the pond which caused all kinds of problems with the motor.

cleaned the counters
emptied the dw from yesterday's dishes
filled dw and turned on
cleaned sink
made my list for ta r get
dd younger took 2 of the 3 dogs for a walk and is now playing with all three dogs outside.

time for a shower and then seeing dh. I know he feels like I left him all morning but it is what it is.
I am a little drained but I am sure once I get there I will pick up a bit.

I have the cleaning ladies coming tomorrow - in a way its necessary and in a way I feel like I don't want one more thing. I have to remember that I will be happy after they head out.

Had lunch and prepped left-overs for dinner.
I am back from a walk .
Sun is trying to peek out now.
Worked on getting lunch left-overs in the fridge & some dinner stuff done ahead.

Later ...
Dinner was great.
I cleaned up the dishes and kitchen looks better.
I remembered one thing I need to dust unter the TV.
The place I called about never called back deadline is not till March so no hurry.
Soup was great today.
Another cold snap this weekend beginning of next week so I am thinking of what to prepare
and how to do that.

Cathy: how do you remember to only water the aloe and Christmas Cactus every second week? All my plants get watered once a week whether they need it or not. All you gardeners - avert your eyes! I also don't check their soil to see if I've watered enough or not. The way most things grow for me, that doesn't seem to be a bad method. The plant that does the best, though, is one that came to me in a 'self watering' pot so I just fill the base up each week and it decides how much water to take. When I forget it (or are away too long), it really droops but always pops back to life once it gets water.

Ok, today is a success so far.

I took it slow this morning but then ds texted that he was on his way to the dentist town (way earlier than expected) so I got out the door and there by 10:34 (15 minutes early). Dgs was restless so we went to McDonalds and he literally walked around and around the eating area for almost 20 minutes. There were three patrons who were delighted when he'd walk up and smile and babble at them and the staff were charmed to the point that the kitchen staff came out see what the others were talking about. Once it was 11, we ordered our food and after he ate, he stayed in the high chair playing with the cars I'd brought. We were set up by the window overlooking the drive-thru so there was lots to see outside as well.

His dad arrived at 11:40 all apologetic (that was exactly when I expected him) and they left quickly so that hopefully dgs stayed awake until he got home (a 20 minute drive.) I told ds to use exciting music to help keep him awake and to talk to him.

I was going shopping but went to the washroom after slowly tidying up and when I got out of the restaurant the snow had started (over 4 hours early.) So I stopped in at Costco on the way back and got a few things from there, including dinner, but otherwise came straight home. It was the right decision, the roads weren't snow covered but slick and I avoided being on them in much traffic.

I was home by 1:10, took over an hour off to rest and then got into tidying up and putting away dgs' toys since he won't be back here until Sunday, possibly after dinner. If it is under 3 days, I don't put them away, I just pile neatly against the TV stand. For 3+ days, they all go into the bin and it's pushed against the patio door (it's winter so the door isn't used.) If it is for a week or I have adults visiting, the bin goes away behind the screen. But lately that has not been the case.

I also finished the weekly dusting and kitchen chores. All that's left for the house blessing is mopping the kitchen floor but I'm tire so decided to put that off until tomorrow.

Now I'm going to focus back on Residents' Association stuff. I have a ton of emails to read in response to the email I sent last night.

Kathryn I base it on when cleaning lady day was, which was every 2 weeks. It used to be on Friday after the cleaning lady left. She only came every 2 weeks. This Friday would have been her day to show up. So I'm basically watering them 2 days earlier than I used to.

I went and laid down in bed to watch the snow falling. My side of the bed faces the largest window in the entire house, which is west facing. At first the snow was floating down in large, fluffy flakes in a gentle wind from the west. I decided to read and dh came in to join me and he was reading on his side of the bed. After a while (2 chapters) I noticed that the snow was coming much faster and not as fluffy. It's absolutely beautiful. I told dh how nice it was to be in our cozy bed on a snowy day reading books together. I continued to read and realized he had gotten out of bed at some point. I decided I had better start heating up supper and make myself a tea. Dh had gone to take a shower. Here I am.

(((Twins))) -- glad you don't have Covid! Although, based on what I'm hearing, Covid today doesn't make you feel any worse than a bad cold/flu or a multitude of other viruses that make you feel yucky. So whatever it is, I hope you feel much better soon!

Hope everything turns out well with the dermatologist, Rose! And have fun with the garden club! That was so nice of the lady to invite you to join.

Cathy -- brrrr... But reading books and watching the snow sounds sooo nice.

It's cold here -- 41/feels like 36, and 34 is the low for tonight. Our rain has stopped but it is still very gray and cloudy out there! Wind advisory has ended though. I will have to go out again this evening to (1) sign up dgd for softball (we've just always taken care of that since dgs started t-ball) and (2) go to Bible study.

Nancy -- yes! Definitely a "take care of YOU" day!

Hmmm... gotta say I'd have to pass on the vinegar, Harriet. DH and I were talking last night about how ds, at a very young age, started ordering oil and vinegar for salad dressing. Waitresses were always surprised. I think ds picked it up from his paternal grandfather.

I never even checked in yesterday, but Mystery, I was definitely sympathizing also with your Monday troubles! Sooo frustrating!

Harmony, my bank statement is always several days late arriving. I mean, it may be dated the 15th, but I don't get it till the 25th. What's up with that? It is certainly easier to reconcile when you don't have 7-10 days of outstanding entries.
I'd be putting off the gutters too...

Ooohhh -- sorry about the power outage, LadyM! And sorry ds had to learn that 4-wheeler lesson...

Kathryn, my "plan" is to water weekly just like you said, whether they need it or not. Sometimes I will notice water is standing in the little tray under the pot, and I'll skip it.
Right now I only have one living plant -- and it is questionable whether it is actually living or not. It is a corn plant, approx 6 feet tall, and VERY skinny. It has only ONE skinny skinny stalk, and all the leaves are at the top. It is almost 40 years old -- a gift from our faculty when ds was born. I have been told by more than one person that if I would cut it down lower, it would get thicker and start new growth... but I think somehow I am possibly a little superstitious about doing anything to it that might kill it. I feel so stupid even saying that! But it really looks sad right now and I don't know what to do with it...

My other plants are all fake and dusty and I am sick of them... but I think dh is a little attached to them. He does NOT like change, as you all well know. Of course, neither do I, but I could stand a little change in decorating.

Harmony … yes the plant has a fancy name in front of it, but you don’t need it to look up the plant on Google.

They are grown from bulbs and my garden friend says the bulbs can grow to be as big as oranges. The plants outside my class door are huge and when I took a closer look I found there are really five plants crowning in a group. The plants are way taller than me and the flowers on them when opened are almost the size of a basketball. Think they’ve been growing there for many years. The white flowers are spiky and if I could get a picture of them to show up here I would.

I talked to a friend who said she had a spot on her face that was frozen after it had been biopsied and said she would never do that again. It was on her cheek and left a pretty good scare. So my doc and I are going to have a heart to heart talk before I let him work on my face. Any other time I’ve had something come back that was bad like this one, I’ve always had surgery done one it. My friend gave me the name of the plastic surgeon she used and I’m gonna keep that handy.
