it's 1 degrees F. here but it's good
it's sunny and I am taking a moment to enjoy that I don't have any work outside for today.
I woke up happy and restful. I am not thinking of anything but just the moment, for now!

I know the roller coaster will start again but for right now I can appreciate that dh is being looked after, I am home for this minute, dd younger is giving her dog food, dd older went for a hair cut. (A little bit of normalcy is wonderful and much appreciated).

dd's and I didn't get the garbage/recycling cans out so we missed garbage day.

I need to exercise/stretch

first goal:
meds
clean cat litters
15 minute each room
shower

today a must
get the front room rug out to the dining room
move what ever is not needed
wash couch cushions
vacuum and clean under furniture
wash floors
dust walls
Hospital bed is coming today.
set up a place for dh's extra medical needs that is easy to reach

I need a curtain rod and a temporary curtain so that dh doesn't feel like everyone can look in.
I need to buy a padding for the hospital bed as they are so uncomfortable.
I need a notebook for meds taken and daily care.

find out when visiting nurse will start.

I am keeping a paper listed what I can do and what is out of my hands - that has helped me before when I have lots of things pulling me one way or another.

d dee I am thinking of you!

I wish you all a great great day!
it is always a joy to be here with you!

Our windchill is -40 today. (Fun fact, -40 is the same in C and F.)

I've done nothing today except get dressed, approve a person for the FB group and put out a new table decoration and changed the wreath items to February stuff.

I really need to get moving now.

Blessed - do you have sheets for the hospital bed? That is an item we forgot to get the 3 times we had hospital bed delivered for DParents.

I have been outside and started the firepit. It is a beautiful sunshine day with no wind.

DD46 is here cleaning bathrooms. She has asked DD11 if she wanted to go clean houses with her today.

Waving hello…

I am having the oil changed in my car and waiting in their lobby while it’s being done.

I’ve been to my class, set up for coffee and conversation, stayed for my meeting and am now at the oil place. After I get this done, I need to do a grocery run, my pantry is bare and then a quick trip to Target. Once home I need to start my laundry. Working at the dog shelter and bank errands yesterday got me off schedule. I am in no mood to cook so I think it will Pizza for Sweetie and eggs for me tonight.

We had a really nice evening last night. Thought we might find something opened in the area that is close to our home that got clobbered by the hurricane. Nope, but it gave us a chance to see for ourselves just how badly the area was hit. Recovery is gonna take a long, long time and our two favorite restaurants were totally destroyed. One of them only had posts left, no building.

We went to. New to us tavern close to home and love it. I had a grouper sandwich which is a fish I love to eat and Sweetie had the same. As usual when we eat out, we had great conversations and spent time going over some renovation plans we want to do to the house. Need to take some measurements in the garage to make sure we can do what we want to do and then call a company to do it.

We also agreed to put carpet down in our three bedrooms. Right now we have ceramic planks that look like wood and are gray in color. Many of the homes in our community have this type of flooring but we both hate it.

Weather permitting we hope to go to a car show tomorrow and then Sunday I plan to start planting some seeds in pots. This is all new to me and of course I’m excited to see what works.

Looking over at the addresses box every once in a while, to be sure it's still there! So good to see it again!

Yes, LadyM, a treasure.

I know I have complained and worried over this here often during the last year and several months - sorry! The box contents are probably 35 years old - from the time I got far enough in P and P's system to get to their address/information filing advice and get it into use. It reminded me of how my dmother used to use 3 x 5s. It contains so much more than addresses - just a wellspring of info on community, in a way. When a child was born to a family, the new full name and date was included. New addresses were written in, but old ones kept, especially when the old home stayed in that family, too. A record of who adopted the kittens. Emails and cell phone info added to old friend's cards over the years. Reminders of spelling oddities, or the name of someone's deceased spouse could be found in that box - that sort of thing. First Christmas without it, we just didn't send greeting cards. Paralysis. Second one, I did some searching and did the best I could.

Over the years, the first cardfile box these contents occupied literally fell apart, with the lid coming off. That was why HRH kept telling everyone we were "looking for the green box", when in fact I had changed to a red one long before and he just never noticed because the point was WHERE to find the box, not really how it looked to him. He still looked right at the box when I found it and called it the green box, lol.

It was found where it would seem impossible for it to be - fallen behind a desk even though the inch of space between desktop edge and wall was too small for the box to pass. The only explanation I can think of would be a two-parter, in which the desk was already being populated with items on moving day and the box fell during the hubbub. Then the desk was pushed fully into place at the wall.

Home from library. "Reasonably exhaustive research" turned up very little I didn't already know. Only looked at four books, and didn't do a complete job of one. When I got in I immediately took ddog for two laps - our temp is 44 and it's sunny, but "feels like" 38.

Dd called to talk and then I called her back in the car but she couldn't talk long.

I took out steak for our dinner but dh called proposing that we have dinner out with friends. Since I beg off frequently on seeing them, I agreed this time, and steak went into refrigerator for another night. I negotiated that if we're out tonight and see dfriends at the river either tomorrow or Sunday, I don't have to go anywhere else this weekend. Sad, but I feel like I need to keep him from piling on outings.

I'm going to take a short nap now, I was asleep last night before 9 p.m. I think, and still feel tired now.
