today is the first day that I felt that things are coming together. The food and the machine came in. the nebulizer is coming.

Thank goodness dd older is pushing the supplies. Dh was supposed to be home last Monday and through a series of mistakes by the supply company, (i.e. lost orders, wrong orders, more lost orders and now being told that the overnight delivery is not happening but is coming by U. ps.) Now they said the supplies didn't make the truck.

Today the dr. released him upon the supplies - dh didn't understand - the nurse called me asking when he is coming home - poor man-he is so ready.

Keep on swimming!

(Blessed) how frustrating.

I remember when DH was in the hospital after getting his stent. They wanted him to have a life vest for a month and wouldn't let him come home without one. We were all waiting for that company to bring one in and they were dragging their feet. Finally after a couple days, the Dr. said they couldn't keep him in the hospital any longer, I guess insurance wouldn't cover it, and they made a few phone calls and the people with the vest finally arrived. Like I said yesterday, everything is slow as molasses.

I agree, LadyM gets more done than most of us in this village. I do not have that much energy.

Thinking about Lucylee's questions last night which Harriet found the answer to: What college is in Ann Arbor? That would be the one (my way of solving the question)...though what if they are both in that city?

I am frustrated today also. Hugs for Twins in the same boat. DH gets bored and picks nonsense projects to do but here he doesn't do any project without involving me, asking for this and that.... and today after we exchanged Valentines Day cards, he got the idea to fix my bike. I did not ask him to do this today. I did not want him to do this today. I did not want to help him do this today. Anyway, after some work, he went off to get another inner tube. This is the only day I have without having to be out of the house and I wanted to work on my things... but he has this idea ... and he also has a gallon of grout cleaner and wants to work on the kitchen floor which isn't all that bad anyway and not necessary right now... sigh...

RRose, happy you've found another relative. Hope it results in friendly relations with the person. On the family front, I am dismayed that DCousin has sent us a valentine and I neglected to send one to her, first time in years I've done that, and I neglected to send one to DSis also. Valentines day just sorta crept up on me this year. We did do cards for each other here. I've had mine for a while and he went out this morning and picked up one. Mine had some hearts and a 2-seater bicycle attached to the front 3-D style and I penciled in stick figures on the seat a boy in front and a girl in the back...and it was a hit...though now we're into the work of fixing mine because the thought is in his head now.

Ak, so I'll get busy while he's at the store. I have laundry going.

Nancy, I think it's a great idea to get out the ring and wear it. He can remain your sweetheart in your memories forever.

House blessing is going pretty well. At this point things are such a mess that it is hard to see improvement since no room, except the office, is finished, each has just progressed.

I'm working backwards because by the time I went for the vacuum dh was heading for the bedroom to get dressed for the day. I got the office done, was touching up front hall, was slowed by a lovely, long, chat with a neighbour who knocked repeatedly because I had noise cancelling headphones on and thought the know I was hear (inches from my head) was the vacuum hitting things.

Then I started on the kitchen to vacuum and mop, but dh stopped me in order to have breakfast. I ate mine too and then was doing Tuesday kitchen chores while I waited for him to leave the room. I've been flitting around, grabbing a handful of cinnamon hearts from the dining room and suddenly realized I'd broken a tooth. Sigh...

This time the wait is much less than last spring, I could have got in tomorrow but I have my lunch with my BFF so it is Thursday morning. My week is really fulling up (I have something else that day in the afternoon.) So our nice dinner is on hold. I'll have something soft for dinner tonight.

Unfortunately, the wind is out of my sails right now. I must have had a burst of adrenaline when I found out because it is hurting now and my tummy is upset perhaps because I swallowed the broken bit of tooth, or perhaps just at the thought that I swallowed the broken bit and am imagining things.

Onwards!

Finished a.m. routine and have done dailies except for some clean out of my "box of papers." I'd like to work on that and filing a little today. Caught up on calendar and realized we have dinner with friends on Saturday night (belated celebration of four birthdays in the last week and a half of December.) Dh feel he'll be ok to go so texted about dinner and what to bring. Boiled some eggs for dh and folded load of laundry from Sunday a.m. and have another load in the dryer. He's on the phone off and on with TV on too.

Wow. Just realized it's 1:30 and I need to head out to workout very soon.

Happy Valentine's Day, all!

I hope Dee's DH gets his camera today. And I see TwinsDad has been added to the list of sick husbands, though it sounds like he is recovering (from surgery!) quite quickly.

I had a bit of an adventure yesterday. I took DC to school and was headed home. When I went to make the turn onto the highway onramp, my power steering went out. I managed to maneuver myself to the berm, and just about as soon as I put the car in park, everything died. Had to call AAA. They got me and towed me to my mechanic. Turns out that the battery I had installed a couple of weeks ago (also by AAA) is not quite the right size for the space. So it was jostling around, and the contact came loose. The mechanic rigged things up so it's tighter in that space, and this will hopefully not happen again. It would seem a waste of a brand new battery, but I'm mulling over the idea of a battery that fits better. The tow and mechanic's bill added up to almost half the cost of a new battery as it was. Hmm. Anyhow, I was fortunate in that I'd gotten DC to school before the incident; I'd managed to maneuver to the berm (and it didn't die in the middle of the intersection! ), and DH was working from home, so he was able to pick me up from the mechanic's, then drop me back off there on the way to picking up DC from school.

I really need to do some laundry today, but I'm having trouble convincing myself to do it. I've got a couple of hours before I have to pick up DC and go pick up groceries, so I really have no excuse.

d harmony - I think our next step is to tell the insurance company - dd older was afraid that they would send dh home before the equipment came.
I think talking to the insurance company is the way to go. If it worked for you then it probably would work for us.

If they release dh tomorrow even with only 2 days of supplies then we have to cancel the contract with Apria and get a new contract with a different provider.

Turns out the Apria company doesn't do trachs normally and instead of saying so they accepted the contract with the hospital.
We will be using the company the hospital, where dh got his trac put in, uses. '
The company sent us the wrong size suction supplies. too small.

waving to all of you!

It is too cold to walk today. So alternate activity is in order for exercise.

I fetched the mail.
Had lunch after Bible study.
Thinking about heading to the sewing zone.
I see it is snowing in the mtns. around me.
They closed the pass yesterday.

Hi everyone! There is no teamwork in my house. The vast majority of cats refuse to participate. Valentines is my least favorite holiday. It comes with too much pressure. My x did not help either. Our routine was: I ask what he wants, I get what he says he wants, he pouts because I never know what he really wants. Just not worth the bother. My song for today is Love Stinks by J Geils Band.

I ate chicken last night. Cube steak comfort food for lunch. Will take LadyMavericks suggestion and add protein shakes to grocery list. My lettuce is no longer edible so cooking beans.

I have puppy dreams too but have never been visited by a celebrity. I love architecture dreams.

Foot hurts. Was it the workout or the fall?

Tonights fun includes math and chem tutoring, B&B, music, tax docs, UFOs. My childhood best friend sent me a video series on Is Creation History. Not a subject of interest to me but i should watch some. She is a very good friend and worried about me but our beliefs probably match within 95% or so.

No matter what, dh will be leaving the hospital at 11 am. Saying a prayer that all the equipment will be here.
brother wanted dd younger to go back to Florida by the 16th - the girl that is there wants to come home and I don't blame her - she got paid really well so I feel good that she was taken care of. No one wants to stay away from home that long. dd younger is setting up people to see mom. I will see if the nurse could go there in the morning on Saturday.
dd older told brother that she needs dd younger to stay until Sunday at least. dd younger wants to stay too.

I know d mom wants to stay in Florida but it's hard for brother and I as we can't leave to care for her a month at a time. Dd's want mom to be able to come home for a couple weeks and then be able to go back to Florida. I don't think my brother will allow that. oh well - we shall see.

keep on swimming - tally-ho!

waving to each of you!

I took a break and now have to work in dh's car and my car.
