Mr Harmony experience and skills are priceless (IMHO). Our local votech is always on the search for someone like him to teach.

>>skippable garden chatter<<< I checked the soil temperature, and it is above 50F so I planted beet seeds in a raised bed garden. The cauliflower seeds arrived in the mail today, so those seeds have been planted inside on the heated germination mat. The broccoli seedlings all seem to successfully survive being transplanted. There are 10 Waltham & 1 Calabrese broccoli seedlings growing underneath the lights. I do not want to grow 11 broccoli plants, but experience has taught me that I'd better plan on sharing with the gopher/mole. If half of these survive then I will consider it a success.

hello - we have ice today - wishing dd older and dd younger to be safe on the roads. dd older can't get off of work - downtown Chicago about one hour away, the other is getting meds for us.

dh is moving well. he still scares me trying to go down the stairs without telling us. He can easily go up the stairs to his computer etc. - today is a better day for him. bleeding is less today.
keeping my fingers crossed that they can make him have a smaller trac at this Friday visit. it's hard/almost impossible for him to swallow with the large trac they put on him.

I cleaned the oven but it's still smoking - I dropped a whole pan of coffee cake muffins - brown sugar all over the place.
I will leave it on - have the fan going and the door open to see if what ever I can't see or feel burns off.

yesterday I made mushroom bourguignon and dd's like it (America's test kitchen) - Vegetarian on top of pasta - I also made a cucumber salad
today is vegetarian fajitas for dd older and add chicken for dd younger and myself.

hello d harmony my dh feels the same way re having the income give him purpose. Volunteering does not do the same for him. yay on working on your papers

hi d cathy be safe out there

hi d lady yay on homeschool being done
thank you for the cliff notes on the article = I can't imagine my soil being 50 degrees! good for you!

Blessed: Hello, Hello, back at you. There's nothing to catch up on regarding me.

I got one Residents' Association thing done this morning then had breakfast and was off to my mammogram. The new place is way faster and they only do breast screening so the waiting room was much less crowded too.

I then hit up a warehouse store and bought all the V8 dh will need for the next 16 weeks. He won't be able to lift the cases after the operation so I bought them now so he could stack them for me.

Then dropped off something at dd's, Costco, potatoes from another store and home by 2:15.

Dh helped me unload things and we put the drinks mostly in the storage locker. Then we put away the cold things and he headed off to get the car washed before Cathy's weather gets to us.

I froze up the pork tenderloins (cutting the one I'll use for stew next) and the chicken breasts which greatly helped the overstuffed fridge. Then I prepped the dinner and got it in the oven (herb and citrus roast chicken and potatoes) and moved some things that were almost empty to smaller containers so there's more room in the fridge.

I just hung up on the grands as dgd is screaming and being completely unreasonable. I sent a note saying when she is behaving as well for her mom as me, then call me back.

I've left some debris in my wake moving things around and spiffing up. I still haven't showered today, so I'm going to do that and then will walk the dog and start the straighten up. I got the tablecloth and napkins on the table for Friday night, and put away winter decoration. We're having such an early spring here. I've done almost all the laundry so I can wash sheets tomorrow when dcleaning lady is here.

I took out a couple of stuffed peppers from the freezer for our supper, I'll add cauliflower rice or maybe another veggie.

Good afternoon!

Dove, I was most fortunate!

Today is a fast day for me. I fast badly, and a Catholic fast is a pretty easy one — we’re allowed one full meal and two small meals that taken together would add up to less than one full meal. I am very grateful I don’t have to survive a Yom Kippur or Ramadan fast! So I had half a bagel for breakfast and the other half for lunch. Dinner will be omelets, which, once upon a time, would have totally been breaking the fast. But it’s meatless. The omelets are because I made one of those traditional things from the time when eggs and fat were forbidden during Lent, but instead of pancakes, in my case, it was paczki (Polish doughnuts). The recipe used 8 egg yolks, so we have 8 egg whites to use up.

The weather here is yucky: freezing rain this morning that has thawed into a cold rain. Meanwhile, the forecast for tomorrow is 60F (mid-to-high 60s away from the lake). And back to a high of 30 the day after.

I had some paid work yesterday and today. Dfriend is starting a new project for which I will be useful. I will mostly be working with the same fellow from lucylee’s neck of the woods that I worked with on the last project. He’s very nice, and he’s easy to work with. He’s primarily an educator rather than an engineer, so I don’t have to convince him of the importance of being understood by the layman. So that’ll run pretty much from now through September, though it will be a little while before I start, and I probably won’t have anything to do past Labor Day — the project must be done by the end of September, and there are a few steps in the pipeline beyond mine. Looking forward to getting back on the horse, at any rate.

Now I’m going to have to read Twins’ article — it sounds like a good one!

I'm coming in late, but definitely want to read the article, Twins! Thanks.
Hard to imagine the snow and sleet some of you are getting. It is quite tropical here today -- I'm not envious of my brother and our SHEs in the Sunshine State -- it's 79 degrees here. However, we are under a wind advisory and currently have a 21 mph wind with some gusts up to 35-45 mph. Surprisingly, they are not predicting strong storms. :? Of course that is good news, but unusual with these temps and this wind. Rain and thunderstorms are the most they expect. Hmmm.
Same thing where dh is headed, but the high there today is supposed to be 82. (High tomorrow here is predicted to be 84, which may set a new record.) I saw my first bumblebee yesterday, and have already seen a few wasps. THE worst part of hot weather. One of the worst, anyway. ;)

Well, everybody talks about the weather but nobody does anything about it, right?

So -- dh is gone for the day and -- are y'all sitting down?
I have stripped the bed, have the sheets in the washer, AND I have vacuumed the kitchen & dining room AND mopped the kitchen and smallest bathroom!!! I know -- y'all are shocked. I am shocked at myself. :D
DGD just called to tell me DGS wanted to come to my house while she goes to softball practice, so the quiet will come to an end in about 10 minutes. That's okay -- he's no trouble at all by himself.

He's here -- BBL -- :D

Update — vacuumed and mopped master bath.
