SHEs Organized

We had mixed results with command strips brand and with generic strips. DS14 removed some of them from his painted sheetrock walls resulting in big patches of paint/sheetrock coming off with the strips. I am fairly sure he just pulled the strips off instead of carefully pulling the tab which releases the well stuck strip. I followed directions and took a dozen or so command strips off with no damage to the wall.

I don’t have much flair.
Maybe I have a flair for handwriting and lettering, but not on a large scale — I can’t figure out the spacing like people do for banners and window paintings.

Today I’m in an awful mood. Dh is having a terrible FLARE of gout, yet he insists we are going to College Town.
Everything is packed up, waiting on dgs to get out of ball practice.

And yes — sooo windy here. Found a strip of vinyl siding in our yard— it came from detached garage.

Other than wind, there is no sign of the storm here yet.

BUT we have 2 signs of spring.

I saw a robin in our front yard today. (Dh says the red wing black birds are back as well.)

On the local front, there are 2 local farmers trimming their pussy willow bushes/trees.

I had a very short nap. I didn't go to knitting.

We weathered the storm but our power is out. Very high winds here.

Cathy, I'm surprised there isn't more hitting you now but I guess that makes sense. We're not to start until late this evening. Up to an inch an hour falling at the fastest times, and a total of 6 inches is predicted.

We got going fairly quickly this morning and got over to dd's for 9:40. We just stayed an hour playing and letting him get used to her some more. She will come at 5:30 on Monday morning. I shouldn't be too long and there's a chance he'll sleep through (very small.)

He went to bed early last night because he was so tired. He was up at midnight for a refresh diaper and bottle, then slept until about 6:45. I slept from before 10 to 12, and again from 12:15 until my alarm went off at 6:30.

When we got home from dd's it was immediately lunch and naptime. I slept for 45 minutes until my alarm roused me. He slept for 2.25 hours, so I got a phone call made and listened-in on a phone call from the hospital about the Monday morning instructions.

We've been playing for a fair amount of time. Apparently I'm excellent at flying a plane around the room (it is plane shaped spoon!) He loves planes. Then we did helicopters.

Now he's watching Paw Patrol which has him entranced.

No storms here today, just some wind but even that seems to have subsided so far.

Been so sleepy today. We went to Trivia with DD last night. It was nearly midnight before I got to bed. Slept fairly well though just not late enough to make up for the late hour.

Going to warm up some lasagna shortly for dh and myself. DD is working a college tournament at the Lakeland Ice Arena this weekend. Know they wanted her there by 1:30 today but she doesn't even get through school till 2pm. But she's working (score keeping) till about midnight. Then she works there tomorrow and Sunday. There's an Orlando Solar Bears hockey game tonight but her 'chief' totally understands her working this tournament for the weekend instead. She's scoring for 10 games over the weekend and gets paid well.

Our dgs10 has been selected by the AAA team in Rochester to join their team. Think it's this weekend they're playing a game/tournament in Nashville. Actually Brian Gionta (former Devils and Senators or Montreal Canadiens (not sure which) player from Rochester wanted him to join his team the other side of Buffalo. But it's just a lot travel several times a week and his school work definitely can't suffer.

Think I'll go fix our dinner. Have no idea what dsonil is going to do for his as he's not a 'left over' person. He'll probably pick up something on his way home from work -at least he's working a bit.

Our snow started here just before 5:30.

Dh just started a nice fire in the living room, so I am going back in there to join him.

d harriet you and everyone here definitely have flair! I think I heard all of snapping our fingers in the air with a little sass.

I honestly don't know where the days go right now.

I tried a new recipe from America's test kitchen and it was way to hot and I didn't like the cauliflower in the recipe - it was supposed to be a roasted mushroom and cauliflower chipotle tacos topped with pickled onion - red cabbage mixed into the pickled onion and dollop of plain yogurt with chipotle added in the yogurt. cilantro on top.
The mushrooms would have been fine on its own - the cauliflower gave it a weird texture. The recipe called for 1/4 cup chipotle and sauce - wowzers - hot hot hot!

Last week we made America's test kitchen's mushroom bourguignon and everyone liked it a lot. we served it on egg noodles. nice salad on the side.
We also found some good falafel for one of the dinners.

I am thinking of all of you!!!

Change of plans here. Around 4:00 pm, an hour before we were supposed to leave, DH decided that he had been “lying to myself,” and there was no way he could manage a trip to College Town. He was just in tears, worried about disappointing dgs.

Dgs, on the other hand, has mastered the art of being content in whatsoever state he finds himself. He was extremely understanding and agreeable about the whole situation.
(We’ve come a long long way since dgs was a preschooler who had a meltdown when he had to transition from puzzles to recess.)

In the meantime we called d?bil to offer him the tickets and got in a HUGE row about our family cemetery, which adjoins a larger community cemetery. Shaking my head…

Ds finally has DH laughing and we are going out to eat with ds and Dgd. Dgs went to the other grandparents’ house and will come back to us tomorrow.

Can’t cuop right now, but wanted to say congratulations to your dgs, Dee! That’s great!

Dgs is in bed. Not a peep and its been over 20 minutes so the bottle is finished. I figure he's out until at least midnight.

I started laundry. Dh cleaned up the kitchen, I think, while I was in the basement playing soccer with dgs. He can scream and run and be noisy without disturbing anyone. We got 2 Amazon deliveries to our door today. One by the delivery company, the other by a neighbour. Our next door neighbour got a big heavy unassembled bureau left at her door. She's back on March 15, so it is dragged into the office and a note left under her door (on my new, neon, note paper!), telling her to text me before coming over to get it because we might be sleeping due to the surgery.

I'm going downstairs now and getting some fresh air and pick up the mail. I have to wait at least another 30 minutes for the laundry so I may as well get some non-chasing movement in. My pedometer shows 3800 steps but my garmin watch shows 7700. The difference is one only starts counting after 20 steps. The other counts almost all steps.
