I'm posting from the waiting room in a hospital. It is less than 1/2 mile from DS14 school so my decision to pick this place is all about location, location, location. I am wearing a mask because there is a sign on the hospital entry door saying mask are required. I find it interesting to observe that about half the people I see aren't wearing masks and about 1/4 of the ones who are wearing a mask have it positioned like a chin diaper.

I went to 5 garden centers before I lost the desire to visit more. I start all my normal vegetables and flowers from seeds, so I wasn't looking to purchase any of those type plants. I was looking for plants that return every year that will be planted next to the new fence. I did get a couple elephant ear bulbs and some Segina Irish moss. I have been marking the location of a couple dozen plants in my yard that I will relocate to the new fence after the plants finish blooming. (Daffodils, tulips, cannas)

DS14 is in a 3 day class that will result in him having a state issued motorcycle driver's license. He had to take a test (and get certified) in order to take this class. DS14 doesn't drive motorcycles but my purpose for putting him into this class is to receive formal education on safe driving. A bonus to him taking this class is it also introduces him to our technology campus. I have planned on DS14 attending vo-tech and/or college classes the last 2-3 years of his high school.

I took that class and it really helps especially with seeing other drivers and being alert!
So glad that is the course he is taking yea you for being there too LM !

One thing I would like to do?
Apparently it was SLEEP — and I did!
Dgd woke me up at 7:30 and we lay back down for an hour. Then it was time for her batting practice, so we did that, got breakfast, and came home to eat.
She was really just not feeling it for batting practice and had something of a meltdown when it was over, wanted to see her daddy.
So I took her home as soon as we ate, and brought dgs home with me.
He and I both fell asleep promptly— he went to bed with his laptop and I curled up in the recliner. I was afraid he might be getting sick — when he woke up he said he was cold and sat in the recliner with me for a good while, but he’s up playing now, and talking talking talking.

His latest obsession is top ten pop songs. He goes around reciting these to us and singing little pieces of the songs. \o/
None of us — himself included— listen to pop music; he just gets into lists and statistics and that’s all we hear till he moves on to something else. Could be presidents, cities of the US or the world, most popular YouTube channels…
He swears he does not bombard his school friends with these random facts…

IKWYM. I love that your DGS gets interested in different topics and learns random facts about them. Isn't it amazing how the brain works?!

I am home for the day and feeling relieved to be on the downhill side of spending so much time in the city. Two days down. One more day to go.

DS14 does ride dirt bikes but they are not ridden on the streets. We are not okay with DS14 riding motorcycles on the streets even if he has a license. Yesterday DS14 best friend laid a motorcycle down and thankfully walked away from the accident. He has bad road rash and a broken wrist, but it could have been so much worse. Why get DS14 a license to ride motorcycles if we don't want him to ride them? Because we want him to have as much exposure to safe driving training as possible. I don't want DS14 to learn how to ride a motorcycle from his 14 year old best friend who just crashed!

As part of this class, DS14 wore Fatal Vision goggles (drunk glasses) and tried to walk in a line. It made a HUGE impression on DS14 how being drunk or high affects your equilibrium, timing, and other body functions. He was sick to his stomach from the experience. I am happy that DS14 didn't like the loss of control of his vision, stomach, etc and hope the negative experience will affect his future decisions.

I was just using the hospital waiting room as a place to hang out. There wasn't anyone else in the waiting room the whole time I was there.

I might need this someday happenings.
Had a frame from a greenhouse light weight 1" x 2" four by eight size apx.
is now drying in the basement that I can clip fabric or printed sheets to for background.
I think I can do a couple of stand up comedy type things for fun I am funny.
Glad I kept the fabric old curtains.
I now have a comp notebook and notes in it.
Mostly li_ts some ideas. Etc.

I worked some more on the writing room and it is looking mighty fine now!
I started a bit on the creativity room put the containers in there for the sorting process. It is not too bad
but those do come in quite handy.

I put the chair down stairs to be painted or to use in front of the area I am doing the staging.
I have one more of the above mentioned frames I will bring it in later in the day light.
The old curtains fit well enough.
Dishes have been done. I am feeling better now that helps.

I totally understand your concern about motorcycles, LadyM. My dmom’s best guy friend was killed in a motorcycle accident when they were 14. It made such an impression on her that I was NEVER allowed on a motorcycle. She remembers to this day where she was, what she was wearing, everything about the moment she heard the news.
They had always said they were going to be missionaries together (even though they belonged to different denominations— he was Church of Christ and she was Baptist.) and he was going to preach and she would be a nurse. They weren’t sweethearts, just really good friends.
Just imagine if that dream had been realized though… I would never have been born.
Of course, turned out, my daddy was sort of her mission field.

My next door neighbor had a mini bike, and I was allowed to ride it with her, only on the grass.

I'm surprised to see others here at this late time. And speaking of time, my DFriend texted me that she wasn't going to church, they had to get used to the TIME CHANGE! I'd totally forgotten about that. Fell asleep in front of the TV and woke to read her text. I changed the time 1 hour ahead, right? on the coffeepot, the stove, and the microwave, then did my clock in my bedroom. DH does not change his clocks (2) in his bedroom, choosing to just remember which is correct or adjust the time in his head. How he manages to do this when he can't remember pretty much anything everyday stuff like to take his Rx's I have no idea. So when I came here and read the posts I see Mystery mentioned it also, so I think I am on track now.

Y'ALL REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCKS, IT'S 1 HOUR AHEAD THIS SATURDAY NIGHT.

We're still having conversations about the hoses around here. I went out to trim bushes and water and DH had the hose I manage to use pulled into the back yard with a sprinkler attached. Arrrrgh! He said he was going to adjust the hoses around here, did he do that? No! I have 1 tomato plant that looks bad, I need to be watering it a lot. sigh....

And I guess I am miffed because he's had a phone call about the plans on his job from the property owner. Monday he will be picking up the plans from the engineer. Finally moving ahead a bit. So I worked very hard this afternoon to get papers and copies together for his license renewal with this town where she lives. I have not renewed his license / insurance stuff down there for a few years because their process is not easy to do, and he hadn't been working down there at all anyway. And I guess it is upsetting to me that he can't do so many things around here and I have to help him with everything... but somehow he finds a way to get help or make the effort to do this stuff. It's like a guy having a mistress, except his is his work. At his age and ability, if he's going to put effort into stuff it should be here with me and our house... sigh.....

This is the guy who can't remember or understand where our banks are or how to do any of that stuff... but he will do a job if he gets help and I help him with all the legal stuff and paperwork. He's totally forgotten what all he needs to get this permit. I'm so tired of the whole thing.

Sigh.... guess I will go to bed and hope I can sleep.
