Hi! Coming up for air here. I've been 3 hours of doing paperwork with DH. Arrrgh. Not a happy camper. When we had a new hard drive put in the computer I lost all my bookmarks. I managed to get a lot of them reconstructed, but for some reason I couldn't find any of the business ones. So all the work I did today I had to start from scratch. Thank goodness for a new printer that cooperated. It's been so long since DH applied for a permit in this town that none of the forms I had were correct, they've all been updated. So, now I have a whole new file. Had to fill out all that paperwork and extra stuff due to the fact that this house he's working on is in a flood zone. What a bunch of nonsense.
He has gone on his way with about half those papers, to pick up plans at the engineer's and go to homeowner's to get her notary stuff done. He has a detailed instruction list of what he's to do. The other half of the work he can do tomorrow when he gets the plans ready to turn in.
RRose, have fun tomorrow. I've been to the Ringling museum, if it's the same one you're talking about. It is really an art museum with a lot of really good art all over the walls of this ornate, beautiful building, but I'll warn you first, like most good art, none of the subjects wear many clothes! The place I like to go to up there is Selby Gardens. That's right downtown Sarasota and it's a beautiful botanical place. Sunny and I want to go there the next time she comes down. We used to go almost every year. The other place that's nice to go to is in Osprey which is south of Sarasota a bit, and it is called the Palmer Ranch, I think. ___?___ Palmer was one of the wealthy founders of the area and this is a historical place with much to see. At a certain time of the year, and I don't know when that is, but then the narrators who go around with you are in period dress. It's a lot of fun too.
Interstate up that far isn't so very bad, busy but not like I-4. Don't ever go April 1st or close to it. You'll find a steady line of traffic going north, all the snowbirds going home. I hear it's a tough drive then.
I'm watching the grey sky / clouds. We're supposed to be getting rain today. Then nothing until the weekend. I sure hope we get a good shower soon.
I guess I'll go veg out somewhere for a bit. I'm all burned out from working on those papers.

I am excited and frustrated at the same time. I have new plants and new soil to play with, but the contractors are in my play space (aka garden). When they left for lunch, I took advantage of that time and potted several peppers. I plan to hold the peppers indoors for another week or two, but the roots are already growing out of the 4" pots. So, I am moving them into 6" pots to let their roots develop a little more while we are waiting for warmer weather.
I made a double batch of mac & cheese for the kids. DH and I don't eat it but they love it I am making shepherd pie later today.
I pulled my dried sourdough starter out and started the process to get it going again. I prefer to eat fermented bread instead of normal bread.
We have extra oranges that aren't being eaten so I decided to peel them and freeze the orange slices. I will use them in smoothies. I have a cookie sheet of orange chunks in the freezer. Once the oranges are frozen, I will transfer them to Ziploc bags.
In between doing other things, I have been sitting with feet up watching youtube channels about a variety of subjects.

We left early to go get the cheeseburgers. After we finished I went into a store nearby and got a large "steak and gravy pie" so we will have that tomorrow night. I think dh wanted the steak and kidney pie, but they only had small ones of that variety. I will make mashed potatoes to go with it.

Guess I haven't posted all day. For one thing it was just about 5am before I finally fell asleep.

Managed to get about 4 hours of sleep so my F itbit says. So I was in "sloth" mode most of the day as well. I have gotten through quite a bit of desk work however. I've made out 2 requests for records from the hospital here to go to our Primary and cardiologist up home. Seems I've spent hours on it. Also did a survey for dh for the hospital and got that mailed. The records request will go in tomorrow's mail. I'm only half hoping I have the request filled out with the correct information.
I also went grocery shopping for about an hour and a half. Dh helped me put together the cabbage soup recipe. There was too much for dd's largest pan so we ended up putting it in the slow cooker. However it's still not ready to eat. I just turned it to 'low', but I think I'm going to turn it off, let it cool some so I can get it (hopefully) to the fridge for the night. I might have to split it up as it may be too heavy for me to manage and definitely dh can't. In fact he's gone to bed. I had bought potato salad, coleslaw from P ublix today and a package of popcorn chicken. So warmed some of that for my dinner. Dh tried to eat an eclair (minus his teeth -didn't work). So I have a feeling he's going to be looking for something to eat in a while.
DD and dsonil have gone to St Simon's Island in GA for the week. They'll be back Friday. Her birthday is Wednesday. I've bought the fixin's for corned beef/cabbage that I'll have cooking for when they come home Friday. DD will appreciate it but I'm certain dsonil won't.

We enjoyed a visit with our tax preparer and caught up on her family's doings.
Followed Dee to the grocery. As always, found more than the list suggested.
The pie is made for ds' present and he's informed. The kids have ball practice until late and must do homework and get to bed, so he will come by tomorrow after work. HRH also has a few things set aside for him for his bday.
Tomorrow, we have Desk Day activities. I'd like to pot up some plants.

End of day check-in.
No grace here. I'm in a mood.
I did get moving at 10 and s2s, cut my bangs (a hair cut right now is out of the question, I don't have the bandwidth for it), and got the bedroom laundry started.
At the end of the day I can report:
1. Living room is vacuumed, the toys put away, the screen put up. I'm noting a major dent in the screen from being folded too long. I also note that 5 of the Fisher Price Little People are missing. One or two could be an accident. Five mean that dgs is hiding them somewhere. I will search the office next (I have searched under all living room furniture, all toy boxes, in the drawers in my desk and the radiator hatches (that lead to the fan controls) that he figured out how to open. There's a chance they are in the kitchen radiator, I haven't looked there yet. More likely in the office in 'his corner' (on the treadmill, so maybe under the treadmill?)
2. Bedroom linens washed and put away. I went to make the hospital bed and discovered it is twin wide but longer (super-single I think they used to call it.) so my twin sheet doesn't fit. My queen size do but are obviously too wide and I worried they wouldn't stay tight and leave dh with a ridged/wrinkled sleeping surface, so I bought sheet garters or whatever they are called, tonight at WM. I could use the flat top sheet but that I'm not sure this mattress is heavy enough to make good hospital corners (which I learned how to do when I was a candy striper.)
3. Read a bit to dgs6.
4. Cut my bangs (worth mentioning twice, they were driving me nuts.)
5. Stripped and remade the spare bed and moved it back into position and reset that room back to being a nursery.
6. Cleaned the spare bedroom humidifier.
7. Picked up a few things I needed from Walmart plus several things I didn't need but I am in a mood so bought some decorative wall stickers and fancy chocolate bars.
8. Visited dh taking him some mandarin oranges and some cereal for the morning. He managed to eat a bowl of all-bran this afternoon and some of his dinner but not the veggies or fish. His nurse apologized, it got really busy and she forgot to give him his anti-nausea meds before dinner. She was saying this 15 minutes after she should have been off-shift, having waited for a test result to come back in case the doc changed meds which he did.
9. Dealt with a number of phone call interruptions.
I made myself a 'pizza' (on naan bread, with cheddar cheese) for my dinner with some cut veggies. Then I just had a bowl of cereal for a bedtime snack. I'm going to head to bed now. I missed out on a nap this afternoon and feel like I'm fighting my way through molasses. I'm moving, but very slowly. Will have to make sure I don't miss my meds tomorrow. I still have 3/4 of the house blessing left to do.
Dh won't be released tomorrow (I hope) but could be on Wednesday if his sinus rhythm remains good and something else (can't remember what.) I'll go there for 2 hours tomorrow to wait to talk to the physiotherapist who will come some time between 11 and 1. There is no in-person discussion, just a video where they read you the booklet, or a phone call where they read you the booklet. Did that last time, it was useless and doesn't answer my questions. Like, how long should I force dh not to do the 18 hour daily fasting?

(Kathryn). Remember, dust will wait. Your rest is more important now.
The plans DH picked up were all wrong. He had given the engineer a preliminary drawing of how he was building and they totally engineered a different way. Aluminum columns instead of the masonry ones he built. When he told them they said it would be more $ for more plans, use these and if inspections fail they will give him more paperwork. Yeah...charge us for their mistake.

There's a reason we don't usually use this engineer. So we'll see how it goes.
We have more papers to put together tomorrow to submit. There's an issue with his license. I haven't renewed his stuff with this town for a few years and we have all the records to do it, but it's possible they will start over with him in their records and if they do it will cost us $100.

I am not happy about any of this. I just want it over.
I am behind in everything because of all the paperwork today. Well, tomorrow is another day.

I’ve been in sloth mood all day. But after the busy-ness of yesterday… I felt I deserved it.

Yesterday was nice though, Dgd had sooo much fun at the trampoline park. Boy, it was crowded though… and I was surprised that they didn’t have more controls in place. At Chucky Cheese, when you go in, they stamp all the kids and adults and you don’t leave without matching stamps. Here, they put an armband on the child, but that was all. So, maybe I’m paranoid, but anybody could walk out with any kid and they’d never know. There IS only one way in, so if the parent keeps an eye on that entrance, everything would be safe.
Confirmation class was fine for dgs. Surprisingly, dgs said he is supposed to read 4 chapters in Exodus this week. I didn’t know why they would start there, but I’ve talked to dgs enough to know he understands all he needs to. This class is just a formality in his case, I think.
Dbro is going to be home the next three days. We have church Wed. Night and dgd’s class play Thurs. night.
I really don’t have a good attitude about dbro right now. I think a boy should visit his mother more than 3 days every 11 months. :p If I see him I will see him, but dmom wants him to help her get a tv, phone, and he needs to visit our aunts and uncle.
He called me tonight bc he couldn’t get her on the phone. I went out there and told her she needed to leave her garage door open for him, and I helped her sort through some mail. She gets more junk mail than anyone in the world! I don’t know why she doesn’t sort it and toss it before she ever lays it down, but she doesn’t and her kitchen table is absolutely covered with mail.
I had a church meeting tonight and otherwise I’ve done nothing. I’m going to iron shirt for dh and do my exercise… and that may be it for tonight.
I should wash some dishes and type notes from the meeting… but that may not happen.
