Hi. It's a nice day here even though there are some darker clouds. Maybe we'll get some rain.
There is much I could be doing. But I am still feeling melancholy from yesterday. I don't know what that's all about. Slept in and feel rested again.
Working on laundry. Last load hanging up outside. It's breezy and I've moved the rack over into the sunshine. Hamper was full of DH's work clothes. There is always more laundry when he's been out working. He's out again today. Surprised me because it is a Saturday and he didn't usually do this on weekends. The 2 guys who got him involved with this work finally came to help. One is supposed to be the boyfriend, the other a relative, both people we know a lot. I guess DH was trying to keep up with them yesterday and came home exhausted. But I'm glad he finally had some help and hope they're helping again today.
He was on the phone with an old friend who calls now and then to keep in touch and I was annoyed by the things DH was saying. Couple things yesterday at my class were bothersome too...and then the rehashing of things with DFriend about our lives...I guess that's why I'm all out of sorts
Cathy, sorry you're having problems with all that. I can't imagine having to deal with that as much as you do. I'm glad ours is working again, it was awful having that going on.
Anyway, trying to move forward. I'm cleaning out my file cabinet of last year's records. I usually have that all done by now but I'm late this year. So taking all the 2022 stuff out for permanent storage and having room to put the 2023 in there. I'll take a year out to the big bin in the garage and pull a year out to burn up when we can. We have a burn restriction now because of the wind and drought.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
Low key day here. I have the chicken out of the crock pot and got the soup going.
Had my lunch.
Took some of my raft paints out to the shed.
Watching net flicks spy series.
I have done half of my steps for today one mile so far.
Went out to clean leaves out of a bed and it started to hail just a bit when I did that.
Not good weather today for any more yard work.
By five sun came out just a bit and I walked ddog to the corner.
That helped both of out moods.
I had some tea.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
i made lunch and enjoyed eating it. My choice for lunch was pinto beans. I prefer simple food.
I am keeping up with my hourly step goals today. Yesterday I was eye rolling irritated that I let 2 hours slip by without reaching my step goal. The first time it happened was at 7am so I had to look at that missed opportunity all day. I had over 9K steps for the day, but I didn't want to celebrate that because of the two missed hourly goals. I do recognize this is foolish to let such a little thing irritate me.
I pushed mowed the middle back yard until the grass catcher was full. I dumped those green grass cutting on top of the brown compost in one of the raised bed gardens. I try to mix brown and green compost ingredients together.
I am working on designing the very last raised bed. I started building the first raised bed in April 2020 so this has been taken me 3 years to get all the beds designed. Because the concrete blocks weigh so much, I limit how many of them that I lift each day. It is a slow process, but I don't want to hurt myself by attempting more than my body can do.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
I'm doing laundry nonstop. I was out twice yesterday and I don't like to leave laundry in the washer very long, so I didn't get much done. We were behind from vacation anyway and dh took a bunch of beach towels out this a.m. to mop up the water. He suggested I use bleach when I washed them but I forgot. Whatever. Once dry, I did pull out some things that should be rewashed with bleach. He brought another waterlogged dirty beach towel in. I have it drying a bit and I'll do another load of whites tomorrow.
I treated myself to a nap and then late lunch. Then I cleaned up kitchen counters again since people will come in tonight, and vacuumed up the dog hair. Thinking of a Roomba or similar at this point.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
Just read through today's posts. For some reason I thought I'd posted today but evidently not so. Seems like I've accomplished little today but am so tired! DD and I took our car to the car wash. She did all the work of prepping it and then we went through the car wash. Then she drove around to the vacuums and noticed the car still had pollen, etc. So she talked to the manager and he had us run it through again. Then she took all the mats (6) out and ran them through the mat cleaner and vacuumed out the car. She had really worked up a sweat. But these were all things that dh and I definitely would not have been able to do.
After all that we went to A ldi's. We managed to spend over $150 there between the 2 of us. She and I then stopped at B urger K for a quick bite. Both of us were over hungry at that point. Came home and I napped after lunch for just a bit. I took some rags out to clean out the cup holder on the car and decided to head on out to the $ stores looking for a funnel and black jelly beans for dh. Finally scored the funnel but every kind of jelly beans EXCEPT black. I'll try again tomorrow somewhere.
Dh has gone to bed. DD/dsonil have turned on the AC now but our bedroom is extremely warm. That's because we've closed the ceiling vents because dh was always freezing. I had turned our fan on low but see dh has now turned that off as well.
Last night I was forever getting to sleep as it was way too warm in there. Think I'll try sleeping in the office tonight. It was after 2am before I finally fell asleep last night. Know I just can't do another night like that but I so want dh to be comfortable.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
I am wondering how everybody is in the places the tornado went through. It's awfully bad in Mississippi and the radar shows it went right over Alabama too. 25 people dead in Mississippi.
I got all that filing stuff done. Except to put the stuff out in the garage. Have no idea why it took me all afternoon, but it did. I was able to pull a couple files out of there as they're no longer used. Know I started in on all this several times before but never got it all done. Every time I reorganized a space I think about someday getting rid of it all. Someday it will all fit in part of one drawer. I remember years ago what I had. There were 2 bins about shoe box size. At the end of each year I put what I kept in a manila envelope. That was before there was a business.
Dee, I can't sleep too hot either. DH has all his vents closed to the a/c. I sleep in a room with access to a/c and sometimes use an overhead fan. I think sometimes people lose the ability to regulate their temperature.

Re: Up and at em Sat.
Just realized I never posted today either.
Thankfully, we did not have to get up and at ‘em as early as expected — rain last night caused games to be canceled today.
Dgrands have been pretty good this whole weekend and ddil will be home tonight— late — and will pick them up tomorrow for Sunday School. Whew!
We are also very thankful we had no storm damage last night. Just thunderstorms.
Dgd is in the bathtub now and y’all… she is making up a long song about all sorts of bathroom habits. All the things that you would think a little boy would laugh about — poop, farts, and pee — this beautiful, tiny little girl finds hilarious. Ds and dgs skipped this stage. Not dgd. She has green color tablets in the water and has announced it is leprechaun pee. Shaking my head… sorry if this is TMI.
Waving to everyone!

Tomorrow is another day.
