Taking a break here. I can hardly believe it is just after 1:00, I have already worked hard today and my old body is tired and my muscles are sore. Sometimes I hate this aging process. I have a big bruise on my left arm. Either from loading and unloading the rollator in the back of the car (not easy, that thing is heavy and has no catch to keep it closed up) or from the car cleaning. Might be from bringing out the ladder, as it's heavy too and I typically put my arm through one of the rungs to grab ahold of it.
LOL hanging.
DH is out with customer trying to get the engineer to produce the plans they've already paid twice for. We don't know what the holdup is. Of course, he took the car and left his pickup here. I guess it is easier for him to get the rollator in and out himself.
So while he is gone, I worked in the yard. I dug up a big area of small oak trees. There are more there than I've ever seen. It is hard work and I got one area done and had to stop. I did it while DH was gone because he always says not to do it, he'll just cut them off. Well, sometimes they grow right back. And it for sure doesn't work when he doesn't cut them off. He can't do any of this work now. So I did what I could while he wasn't here and I'm not going to listen to his criticism when he discovers it. That's one of the big problems around here. We are not on the same page about much of anything here.
I did some cleaning in a bedroom. I have a bathroom to clean.

Ugh -- we're making it count, I guess. Just got new credit cards in the mail and dh is on a mission now to change all the online cards for recurring charges. He gets several supplements, several online subscriptions, ticket purchases... just UGH.
I've already changed the two I use mostly. He's going through credit card statements and making a list of all the places I have to contact.
They sent new cards because they say our old card MAY HAVE BEEN compromised.
I'm just trying to cuop while he's in the kitchen... good afternoon to ALL of you!!!

I did a ton of work on the bedroom but didn't finish it all. Taking out the drawers under the bed and vacuuming underneath can wait another month. As can cleaning the windows. They are so dirty on the outside, there's really little point.
I did dust and polish all the furniture, pulled out the drawers of the dressers and cleaned the floors underneath (plus tidied the drawers) and then wash all the floors. I don't have the right mop to put down the wood Mop&Glo so I decided to pass on that. The floors look dull to me, even with most of the scratches masked with marker and gouges with crayon (the bed removal added more gouges.) I vacuumed and mopped the spare bedroom and moved the chair and stool back into our bedroom. It has been there without me being in isolation for a week now and I never took time to take refuge in that room so it can be in our bedroom where it balances with the other one and fills in a corner.
The third load of laundry is just finishing in the dryer now. The other two are put away.
The plants are watered, I took an hour for nap and break, we walked for half an hour outside in the sun and heat, and I dug the chicken thighs out of the freezer and dh has started dinner.

Y’all, dmom is STILL having nose bleeds! She went to her neurologist appointment this morning and made it fine, but this afternoon she called and said it started again, and it happened again last night.
Doctor’s office says only to use saline spray, suspect dry nasal passages, allergies, etc. But she says her sinuses have not been bothering her at all.
She plans to see her ENT as soon as possible.
Still planning to go for endoscopy tomorrow.
She wants me to bring her some Afrin spray tonight, going against family doctor‘s nurse’s advice, but following ddil nurse advice. So I’ll do that after dgs’ ballgame.
Sigh. What a day.

Dinner has been cooked, served and cleaned up and the dishwasher is taking care of the rest. Knew my blood sugar was too low and I was fearful I might not last through prepping dinner. Made it and now I plan to relax.
I labeled some 'flat' boxes today for different categories going home. Been putting in items as I come across them. Hope to make this job easy/peasy.
Plan to head to bed early tonight. Dsonil has to be out of here by 6:30 for a 7 o'clock appointment for therapy. Then he has an eye appointment a couple of blocks away. So I'll be home alone for a while. I really appreciate when I get that once in a while.

Back home with a working a/c in vehicle. I'm happy to have this done and hopefully it will be good to go for another 8 years.
I do not like being labeled elderly and treated like I have one foot in the grave. I try to respond with grace and kindness but there is a sassy part of me that sometimes responds before I can rein her in.
DS14: The next vehicle you buy will probably be your last one.
Me: Huh? I have no intention of keeping the same vehicle for 20-30 years.

I don't mind someone acknowledging that we are getting up there in age. Probably because nobody is treating us like we might be needing help. I have a feeling we might be coming across more capable than we really are. We are thinking of our elderly years, wondering how we are going to manage these last years, etc. Though DH is fighting it more than I am, I am ready to do whatever we must to make life a bit easier. If he was strong and capable, I could manage my parts. I'm very aware that somebody needs to be doing some of this work... and the present problem is DH never wants to hire out some of the help. He's used to doing it all himself and doesn't want to stop...even though he can't do anything right now and that's likely to get worse.
I went back outside and worked on those trees a bit more. Enlarged the section I was working on. The part I did looks amazingly better. I have plans for doing some of the rest of this work around here. Gonna be hard. I think the storm and all of the trimming we did on the trees is causing them to have shoots all up and down the trunks. Gee whiz. Gotta get rid of them too.
Well, tomorrow's another day. I hope I'm not too upset to sleep tonight.
