So I managed the eat breakfast and nap blocks of time!

I also purchased, downloaded, installed and registered the tax prep program. So that checks off another block of time as complete. And I moved my hair appointment to an hour later so it won't conflict with dh's doctor's zoom call and I can be home for that.

We need to leave in 1:15 so I need to try and get something more done.

Thinking of you, Harmony, as far as stress goes. It's abundant here as well. Things have been happening this morning and I'm almost a basket case but getting better. Started to make air reservations for Saturday. Suffice it to say that DS-A is taking Dh to the Dr this afternoon at 3:15. Praying for him to give some good answers. DS will be going in with him. I'm pretty much waiting for dd to get home from Jacksonville for some one on one advice before I make that reservation. I almost hope they put dh in the hospital and start with checking all his meds.

I did finish putting up my meds for this rest of the week (I already have 2 other weeks done). I then consolidated several bottles of meds so I can take fewer home with me. Emptied out 8 bottles that way. Trying to figure what to pack/where. DS-A has told me to leave our car here, but I have so much stuff that needs to go up. Trying to figure how to pack some to mail/or fly extra bag. DS-A has already called the car dealership to see about getting a new car for his dwife and giving us hers to drive up there. I'm not even sure I can drive it -as in being able to get in. He'd pay hers off and buy a new one for her. Egads, my mind is going, going, going.

I've been to knitting and Costco and the other store. Came home with a chicken, some potato salad and some cheesy macaroni salad. I also got some iced tea and some buns. It's really hot here.

Dh says he has a good week set up for next week, so I went to look at the calendar and he hasn't added anything to it, but 2 customers are coming back with their other cars for something. I guess I'll find out at some point.

Hello! (I'd say good morning, but it won't be morning here any longer momentarily. And, boy, that's a weirdly constructed sentence.)

Gorgeous day today. I'll have to get screens and put them in the doors. DH did one of them last night, but I'm not sure which one -- the back door, I think.

Twiddling my thumbs as far as work goes. Learned at this morning's meeting that the expert has been out of town, so that's why I haven't heard anything back from him, and I won't likely until tomorrow. So the only work thing I can do is do the Windows upgrade on my work computer, but when I try, all I get is "item not found." I've got a call into the help desk for it. I called the main line, which I guess is the clearinghouse for tech inquiries across the corporation, and I ended up getting assigned a ticket number and being told that someone local would be getting back to me, probably in an hour or two. It's been about two hours, and now it's lunchtime, and I'm afraid that I won't get a call back until I'm on the road taking DC to school. I should have just called the local guy directly. (To be fair, the main line I called is also a local number or at least masquerades as one.)

And I'm back from taking DC to school and have had Lunch, Part II (Part I was a salad before I left, Part II sandwich once I got back) and still have not heard from the help desk. I have been trying to hang out near the computer (with the exception of taking DC to school), but I think I am going to have to give up on that and maybe do some laundry. Or figure out dinner. Yesterday was a roast with the leftovers being intended for shredded beef sandwiches. I could do the sandwiches tonight, but I'm sure at least one family member will have some problem with back-to-back nights. We try to keep meatless on Fridays, but it is Easter week, which is still technically Easter.... I could do it Saturday, but DH will be out camping with the troop, and he was the one who requested BBQ beef. I think it's going to be tomorrow; it has the added benefit of being able to be started early, so that it'll be ready whatever time DH is ready to eat before leaving on the campout. So, what do I do today? Guess that will be my next task.

I took a sirloin out of the freezer this morning with intentions of cooking on the outside grill, but the wind was too strong so I pivoted to plan B (indoors). I also cooked a big pot of russet potatoes to make mashed potatoes. I enjoyed the roasted sweet potatoes.

I am reading about the stress many in the village are experiencing and nodding in empathy.

Yesterday DH went to the tag office to purchase a yearly tag for one of the vehicles. He came home and exclaimed "We don't have any vehicle insurance!!" I asked what he was talking about, and DH said the tag office looked it up and said our insurance had lapsed. I was 99.9% sure they were wrong, but I just said, "Let's check". It took me just a couple minutes to log into our insurance account and verify that we do have insurance on all vehicles. I printed the proof and handed it to DH. He immediately relaxed and returned to the tag office to finish that task. Sometimes a small thing feels like a BIG thing when you don't have the ability to solve it. To DH being told we didn't have insurance felt like a BIG THING. However, to me it felt like a small thing because I knew how to verify & prove we did have insurance.

It works the other way with us too. It feels like a BIG frustrating stress when I can't get the mower battery off the charger. I can struggle with it until my hand cramps and still not be able to get the battery to release. Just thinking about that (#*&%$ battery stresses me. However, DH walks up to it and in 2 seconds can easily get the battery off. I watch DH do it and try to copy the same moves without success. IT IS FRUSTRATING!

Goodness, Dee... (((HUGS)))... sooo much you have on your mind right now. I am praying for Mr. Dee's doctor's visit, for good direction from his doctor up there, and for YOU and your travel plans and for you to have peace of mind.

Good for you, Kathryn, on being able to follow your PLANNED activities a little better today! :D (I'm not as structured as you, but I am doing better today, as well!) Praying for good results for Ken as well.

Nancy, I have NOT gotten to my quiet time yet, and the day IS slipping away pretty quickly... need to get in there and do that before anything else.

* Just found out that we will have an extra night of Nana & Granddaddy duty -- ddil was asked to work tonight, and offered a big incentive pay if she did. She asked if we could keep dgrands tonight and get them to school tomorrow, and of course we said we could. DS will be leaving around 4:30 this afternoon, returning late Sunday night. We had already planned that dh would take dgs to his baseball practice & I would attend dgd's softball game, so except for bath/bedtime and morning drop off, this doesn't change our plans much at all. Tomorrow, I'll pick them up from school and we'll be taking them each to their games again, which was already on our PODA... ;) and then Saturday, again -- three games, two different places, but we'll be able to all go together. THEN we will "divide and conquer" -- taking dgd to other grandparents, and we will keep dgs. After church Sunday, they'll both be over here until I drop them off at school Monday morning.
Of course, weather could change all the ballgames, but so far, looks like in pretty good shape -- no more than 40% chance of rain at any game time.

I'm NOT complaining about all this going back and forth and keeping dgrands -- I honestly wouldn't have it any other way, and I'm so glad they are here close by, and they both seem to love it here at our house -- but YES, Harmony -- this is sooo true:
This is my happy place to come where friends are. People that do not cause me all the stress I have here at home.

Lately, my stress has been because of dmom. I also seem to be sooo much more thankful to come home to dh, where it is quieter, and more orderly, and I am just very happy to be here at home with him.
I know I talk a lot, but dmom talks constantly, and it gets frustrating sometimes when her memory is causing problems... plus the disorder in her kitchen was really driving me nuts. That is better now, of course, and her house overall is always clean and neat. Her housekeeper comes tomorrow, and dmom said, "She will probably faint when she sees this kitchen table all cleaned off!"
Dmom IS trying to declutter, however. She doesn't want to leave dbro and me with such a mess, she says.

LadyM, what did you decide was the food culprit that caused you to feel less energetic today?

Dove -- I'm glad your cold symptoms are improving! My cough is FINALLY decreasing, I think. (Sunday in church will be the real test, because it is so much more noticeable there, in a quiet room where I'm so self-conscious about coughing. I think trying to suppress it makes it worse!)

Mystery -- (((HUGS))) for all the wait time on the phone... that can get so annoying, feeling like you have to be "on call."

Twins, thanks for the energizing start! I am DOING more today than I have in recent days, anyway (although recent days have been incredibly busy, it has not been activity that I particularly wanted to do.)
Today, I got up as soon as the alarm went off & s2s.
DH and I went to the post office, bank, and filled up the Tahoe. Then we went to ds's house and got dmom's truck for me to drive when we have to be at separate ballparks. Our old truck runs, but I think dh is embarrassed to drive it to places like that -- the ac doesn't work, the paint is peeling, and it is definitely showing its age. (1988 model.)
At the post office, I mailed dbro the package of stuff he had left at dmom's.
Before we left home, I started a load of laundry, and now the second load is ready to be put in the dryer.

I still need to finish make-up and do Bible reading, and finish getting laundry hung up to dry. I put my clothes in the dryer for about 10 minutes, then hang on hangers. DH's clothes, I just put straight from the washer to the wooden clothes rack or on hangers to wait for ironing. He either puts them away or puts them on the ironing board. (There is ALWAYS laundry hanging in our bedroom, from my closet door or on a cabinet beside the ironing board, but I figure no one sees it except us and the moisture from wet clothes is supposed to help with the humidity in the room, right? In winter dh always complains about static electricity, so we run a humidifier at night all the time.)

DS just called and said dgs got a good report from dermatologist. He is still taking Duplixen shots, but he is doing sooo much better now. They'll be dropping off both dgrands in an hour or so.

I'm wondering, when Cathy and Kathryn say, "it is so hot" -- how hot is it? (Sounds like an old Johnny Carson episode.) How hot does it get up there? I guess there's no place in the world where it is 70 degrees 365 days a year... it either gets miserable hot in the summer or cold-cold in the winter, right?
Tomorrow is another day.

Home from my great workout. I always leave there feeling tired but also energized. Lately I'm leaving feeling hungry too because I try not to have heavy food before I go. So last week I stopped on the way home at a vegetarian place and got some protein balls. Today I tried the "Frose and Eatery" and got a sandwich and only ate half of it. The protein balls were the better choice. Dh and I are having supper out so didn't want to eat something big.

I think I'll take a quick shower. Will be good for my muscles and I won't need to s2s in the morning.

Last load of laundry is in the washer, all my clothes are hanging to dry. Hmmm... need to fold the partial load that did get completely dry in the dryer -- dgrands' stuff from last weekend and some socks of ours.

DS just dropped off dgs, and only forgot two things needed for the 4-night stay. He will send those things to ballgame with ddil. She is going to the game, but will probably leave early.
Tomorrow is another day.
