I'm not at my best today, with the water faucet situation. Dh called and Delta customer service was not helpful (I think he thought they would send a plumber?) Anyway, called plumber back and I'm back on their schedule, although it's for next week. I could strangle my husband for thinking that what he did was a permanent fix, especially since he had to keep tweaking it.

I worked out. It's been raining almost all day. Ddog went out for a while this afternoon between showers. I walked her this a.m. in the rain and she had a bm.

I am upstairs analyzing 1840 census records.

Rose — thanks for mentioning the preacher. It’s going to be long and I am still stuck with the phone only. Plus sharing it with dh, who is now addicted to the cube block game just like me!

Dh is so aggravated with the computer man… counting the weekend, we’ve been without the computer a full week now! I called him Tuesday and I probably will call again today, because today is day 5 of the 3-5 day estimate he gave me.

Good evening!

My expert is back home from the conference he was at and able to give me some feedback. We went round and round about half a sentence, which I finally decided to just delete. I do not know how this man can keep up with everything, but apparently he really loves welding, and he considers talking/teaching/writing about it a great time.

DH is out with the guys tonight, so the kids and I stopped at the drive-in restaurant on the way home from picking DC up from school. Before we left, I shot the bolt on our back door because the door had been blowing open. Well, when we got home, I couldn’t open it again. Fortunately, the front door wasn’t bolted, so we were able to get in. I tried the back door from the inside, but still no luck. So I texted DH to let him know he’d need to come in the front when he gets home. He says he has a key for the bolt with him, so he will try to open it when he gets home.

I am going to see if there’s any more work for me to do, and if not, I’m going to head back to my base camp on Mt. Washmore. I have actually been making some headway. I just worry that once I get it caught up again, the kids will have accumulated another mountain that they haven’t thrown down the chute.

I hope sinks and computers and all are in proper working order soon! Sweet dreams to everyone!

Just realized I haven't been able to get here all day. I did finally get a lot of hours of sleep last night (after only 1 1/2 hours night before). So I was still tired but better. Called W algreens & computer told me 1 script was ready & 1 being processed.

Then the office of the Dr who did the ablation on December 14th called. Dh did have an appointment for follow up to see him on May 11th. They got that changed to next Tuesday, May 2nd. So maybe we'll get more (hopefully positive) answers then. Shortly after his Primary called and said he'd prescribed the stronger Lasix (Torosemide -think it's 100mg). But the big surprise was that his TSH -thyroid was at 8. It's always been very good I think. Have to look back at tests done in the hospital in FL but I think if it was done at all it was always fine. So the 2nd script was for L evothyroxine -.025mg -I take .050mg each day. Dr said hopefully it will help with his energy level. I managed to get one of the Torosemide in him as soon as we picked it up and he's been peeing up a storm. Just want to get this fluid down. One good thing the Dr said yesterday was that he detected no fluid around his heart or in his lungs. His vision is giving him some trouble and I'm wondering if it's part of the thyroid problem. I also wonder how much of that is affected by all the additional meds he's been taking. Right now we're trying to keep his feet up as much as possible.

Dh did say he wants to try sleeping in the bed again tonight. He did come into the bed around 5:30 this morning. I noticed for the first time in many months he was breathing and sounding normal for a change. For months I've heard him doing some moaning/groaning/whimpering constantly in his sleep. If he could sleep with me that way I'd probably be fine. Otherwise I'm awake so much listening. When we went to Winter Park, FL for his Capsule Endoscopy (which btw I've never been able to find out the results after all we went through for that!!) DD said to me: "Now I understand why you're so lacking in sleep, Mom."

Got quite a bit done today before going to W algreens, post office, and grocery store. Dh had wanted watermelon -which I found but he thinks it's overripe. However he's trying to eat it up.

DSs R&A were both here working on the deck and making good progress. Tomorrow they'll be working on getting a ramp built. My prayer is that when they get it built maybe we won't need it, but at least it'll be in place. Then they have to get our yard cleaned up -from all the things that were on the deck. Going to be able to get rid of a lot I think. We definitely will have much less deck space to use. How I wish we'd put on 12' instead of 10' wide all those years ago. But....it is what it is. Of course it was determined by the size of our solid roof over the deck.

Read through everybody's posts from today but now I don't remember all I read. Just know I was thinking of each of you as I read.

Lucylee: have you learned to use speech to text on your phone to speed up writing? (On my phone it is the little microphone above the comma on the on-screen keyboard. I long press it and a larger microphone covers the keyboard and I can talk and it writes what I say, or what it thinks I said, into the program. I can now do longer text conversations with people. I still hate it, but it is better than typing out one or two characters and then accepting the predicted text.)

The fabric exchange went really well. I only had to do set up and take down and a bit of socializing. I spent 30 minutes of the set up time sitting on the stairs of a locker room listening to the troubles a friend is having. He lives alone and is scared his heart is failing. He went by ambulance to the hospital on Monday and they think it is stress. He's been to his doctor 4x in 10 days and doc thinks it is medical anxiety and he should just wait the month for his appointment at the Heart Institute.

I think it is medical anxiety too, and suggested he contact his rabbi because he told me he was afraid of dying. He also told me that he had a long tramp through woods this morning with some environmental resource people looking at how to save the trees in the woods (they are struggling with all the development around here) and was just fine. But by mid afternoon he was a wreck. I pointed out that if it really was heart it would have happened when he was active and he didn't feel concerned at all because he was with others, working and had no time to worry about his heart and question how it felt. So I was suggesting a rabbi and synagogue because I think having a community to distract him from himself will help with the anxiety while he waits for his appointment.

Now we have several boxes of leftover fabric to get rid of. I'm trying to get ahold of the coordinator of programs at the social housing complex near us to see if the women there could use it. I did grab a piece of upholstery cloth to possibly redo some easy to redo dining chairs, and some small scraps of kids fabrics for the kids to play/craft with.

I took the time when others were running the exchange to come up and start dinner which was a big success. And the car was ready 30 minutes after we finished eating so that timing was perfect. We paid just $100 more than last year and also got the cabin filter changed (and the condenser coils cleaned) and new windshield wipers. Last year we got a really good deal so I'm very pleased with this year's maintenance price.

I cleaned up the kitchen since dh went and got the car for me (he had to Uber each way so that added $45 to the price of the work, I guess.)

Now I need to finish the taxes.

As I'm sitting here, I just heard a loon's call! I have never heard one from up here, although we've seen them when walking along the river. I've opened the patio door fully and am straining to hear on again. At this moment, the traffic sounds too loud, it must have just been a split second when it was stopped at the lights. Or perhaps it was flying by (which makes more sense but I don't know if they do calls while flying, unlike the seagulls and geese.)

I'm going through this right now as well. And heavy breathing along with the noises. It is no wonder I'm registering stress while I'm sleeping and not sleeping all that well. He only wakes me occasionally with this because I go to sleep with sound playing through my noise cancelling ear buds, all night long. Once a podcast stops, though, I can hear him and have woken up. On the other hand, he can get out of bed and the room (I sleep right next to the door) without me hearing him. When I got up to pee last night he came to chat with me from the living room (I hadn't noted he wasn't in the bed.)

The other night while I was brushing my teeth, he was quite noisy, and then completely silent. I started to panic that he'd stopped breathing....

Do we all listen for our DH's? I often stand by DH's chair where he goes to sleep if he's tired during the day, often early in the morning too. He's so deep in sleep that his breathing is very slow and I'll watch a bit till he takes a breath. Scares me a lot.

Finish my shopping list.

Go to the supermarket and get everything on the list.

Cook a nice dinner.

Cut up the fruit to take for our brunch tomorrow. Pack up the plastic box with stuff I'm taking tomorrow.

Well that's a good bit done today. I know there was more but that's what I can remember quickly.

Just got out of the shower. Tomorrow is the last time I'm out on a Friday morning like this until September. Quite a few in our class are out ill or already gone back up north. We're not all permanent residents here. Our teacher has been ill. One member has Covid.

Hope everybody has a good night's sleep. I'm getting better at getting up earlier.

LOL — Kathryn, I will have to see how speech picks up on my Southern accent!
