Quiet day in the village and quiet day for me too.
It was the area garage sale day so I was out for a 2 mile walk and bought tons of stuff. The first item bought from the 3rd place we stopped, was an 18" long toy plane so dh walked home with that and came back with a good sized cloth bag since the plane didn't fit in the backpack I had brought!
I got lots of planes and helicopters, a nice blazer for me (since all my old favourites are in the back of the car to be given away since they are too small), and some kid's complete set of Hot Wheel track and accessories (plus 2 Hot Wheels.)
At the last stop (which had been our first and still had something that dh wanted for 25 cents) we waited for neighbours below us to catch up and walked the rest of the way home with them. Then they invited us over for a visit. And we had a wonderful time.
Dh and I had a very late lunch and then I spent the afternoon shopping for and buying some of the things she had in her apartment. It is so handy when the apartments have the same windows etc.
Then we had a light dinner, and watched the last of the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel series.
Tonight I bought a camping cot bunk bed set to use for the grands. It means the spare room can be set up with that and I can keep my queen size guest bed. I bought the adult version so we have it in case of evacuation (top of mind lately with all the fires in NS, 10K out of their homes, plus the emergency preparedness seminar I did.)
So now I have a tent AND cots if I decide to start camping once again (on my own, no-way dh would do it!) The tent attaches to the car so I'd sleep in the hatchback of the car and the grands can sleep in the tent.
The cots are heavy (~32 pounds each) but I can carry the 34lb car seat so I know I can lift that.
The apartment is trashed from the grands yesterday and my inattention today but I think I really needed a rest after the extreme heat and babysitting duties. Today the apartment was a perfect temperature all day due to all the breezes coming through.
