Re: Wondering Wednesday
Went for breakfast.
Went and got some clay pots. Also went and got 10 bags of top soil. Came home and unloaded the truck while dh was in the house. Now he's mad because I didn't wait for him to do it.
We decided to finish up all the leftovers in the fridge for supper.
Thanks for the update LadyM. (((Dee)))
We are still waiting for a water delivery. I called them last week. They said delivery would be on Tuesday.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Good morning! I have risen, but I’m not shining. Not sure why not; it’s a gorgeous day here, if a bit chilly. Maybe it’s because my team’s playing on the West Coast, so the game ran quite late last night. I dozed through a fair bit of it, but that was sitting up in the living room, so maybe my body’s not counting it. Anyhow, I’m drowsy, with a serious case of the Idonwannas.
I hear DC stirring upstairs. I think I will ask them what music app they use and how to use it. I have a lot of laundry to do, and it will be a lot more pleasant with music going on. After that, I will join Twins in some 45/15s. My plan for the first one, once I get it going, is
:15 sorting laundry
:15 getting a load going, and
:15 update calendar.
DH made vacation reservations this morning, and I know the kids have some things planned, but I don’t know what.
A belated Happy Birthday to Elizabeth!

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Breaking, although it's not as tho I've been working that hard. I'm finishing breakfast, have walked dog, rebooted laundry, made the bed and cleared our "long" kitchen counter. I think it's even time to reboot laundry again.
We went with dh's friend to walk their dogs on their farm on Sunday. Beautiful property, some wooded, some forest, some old orchards and meadows and an old barn foundation. After the walk he warned us to check for ticks - I found two after and dh found several, then yesterday back at home dh found one that had "dug in." I removed it and he got a one-off dose of antibiotics from our doc. Apparently New England ticks are bad for disease. We both checked our bodies - and each other's bodies - on Sunday evening.
I am going to continue working another forty-five minutes. That should at least get me through a.m. routine. Waving to Mystery! Thanks for joining me!

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Wow, Twins! I'm glad you found those ticks. Now I have a visual in my brain...2 people checking each other..
I am taking a break. Been at my desk all morning except for the trip to the bank to deposit a check. Yes, I could do that online if I had their app in my phone. Its 2 miles away, 5 minute ride. And I'm usually back and forth right by it or it's a nice break from whatever I'm doing.
We have some dark clouds so I think we might get some rain. It wasn't calling for any rain, but I see it coming. Last night in my frantic search to locate the receipt paper, I was painfully aware of how bad my paperwork stuff is getting. Nothing that I needed to do timely, so I had 2 inboxes full of stuff to put away, organize, tear up and throw away... and I am in the midst of still trying to figure out DH's teeth stuff. I must find those old records. I did that once before...where did I put that stuff?
And DH comes in to tell me about him pulling the truck out into place so I can go up on top to paint that tall wall.....he might have just been telling me we need to paint that wall NOW...because that's what he meant. I just reminded him of the work I was doing and said let's look at it in another day. Anyway, I wouldn't do it with rain coming. I did get a little frustrated and told him I'm having trouble keeping up with everything. Maybe if he cooked and cleaned while I did all the rest..... no that won't happen.... it's hard. He can barely walk back and forth. I'm lucky he can put together a lunch or pull the sandwich out of the refrigerator... I refuse to cook lunch and breakfast. Dinner is enough to do with all the cleanup.
I need to finish the stacks at the desk and there's a LOL in the dryer to fold up. Ok off I go.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Back! Wash sorted and started, calendar updated (somewhat — DH has no details shown for his Scout trip, which happens right before our vacation), and Spotify downloaded. DC says they’re kind of horrible with ads, but I haven’t had any so far — they may be lulling me into a false sense of security, or it might be that I’ve been listening less than half an hour.
Thanks for the update on Dee, LadyM! I’m not sure how I missed it earlier. Guess all there is to do is keep praying.
Next 45 will be lunch. Waving back at Twins!

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Twins wtg on boundary setting!
I have walked the ddog rested a bit and the went out and pruned the back yard tree low hanging branches off and picked them up yea!
Ddog is resting.
I got more rocks to clean and paint talked & introduced myself with newer folks on the street behind me.
Sipping my mid - morning cranberry juice and realize I did not have bfast bc I took my pill late that I do not eat with.
I have 4 5ths of my step count done for the day.
I should mow.
Someone needs to do inside stuff here as well.
[I am amazed at how folks younger than me are not in as good of shape as I am and I am not skinny by any means. ]

Re: Wondering Wednesday
This, Harmony:
My massage therapist texted me that I was supposed to be there at 11:30 - actually he asked if he had it wrong on his calendar. We rescheduled for Friday. I saw him last Tuesday, the day we left, but I'm not even sure what today is. I'm glad he's understanding.
And oh. I need to get ready to do a presentation to the Certification discussion group next Wednesday on "My Certification Journey."
I sure am glad I'm home. I didn't want to work on it while on vacation last month, didn't have the bandwidth in the week I was home between vacation and the Richmond trip, and I'm just now circling back.
Currently 17 things on my OMM list. One has been marked off.
I need to figure out what I'm doing next, and take a look at the rest of the week and next week.
Thank you Nancy, and Harmony is also boundary setting. We're learning around here!
Honestly, I don't think dh took the tick check seriously, at least until I found one. Both of us feel that every time we feel the slightest itch, it's a tick.just reminded him of the work I was doing and said let's look at it in another day.

Brad Paisley had a hit song: I’d Like to Check You for Ticks.
(((Twins)))
And thanks Twins for the thought that the aggressive skunk might have been warning me away from babies. Although UGH — that would be awful— having a family of skunks in my shrubs.
Dmom needs me to pick up a rx… she is having a rough day, talking about moving to assisted living.

LOL, Lucylee! Yes, stay clear of the skunk family. A wildlife rehab here has some babies in residence.

Re: Wondering Wednesday
Although I am trying to take a break from cooking this week, I keep finding myself in the kitchen cooking.
FACT: I prefer my own cooking. I like simple real food. I like to be creative when I cook and see what happens. I usually cook without a plan and most of the time it works well. I just start and see what happens. Today I started by heating up a cast iron skillet and dumping various vegetables in it. Half dozen or so onions from the garden were sliced, then I chopped half dozen or so peppers from the garden, then I saw several fresh tomatoes on the counter, so I chopped those up and added to the skillet. I decided it needed some different textures, so I finely diced some fresh radishes and chopped some celery. I tasted the mixture as it simmered, and it was SPICY. Hum...how to calm it down......I decided to dump a couple cans of diced green beans into the mixture to add some bulk and calm the spiciness. End result = an amazing tasty vegetable dish. I have enough made to have several meals of this side dish. It will be easy to add a protein and have a quick & healthy meal.
I am having to spend time doing checks on DS14 phone usage while he is at work today. In the first 3 hours that he was at work he has been using social media type apps on his phone 1 hour and 24 minutes of that. That does not include the 7 times he called us on the phone and the 2 times that he video chatted. I told DS14 that he should be fired. Either he should return to his previous work ethic or quit and come home. Make an honest effort or quit. I try to pick my battles carefully with the kids....this is one that is important to me. The line in the sand has been drawn.
