Got another one of those phone calls dealt with. Meeting at bank for tomorrow is cancelled because I dealt with change of address over the phone.

I have put a sweet potato wrapped in foil on the BBQ for dh. We have a bit of 2 cold salads left. Pork chops are almost thawed out.

LadyM you need to hold that recliner down.

I'm so happy summer is here. Local farmers are already talking about the sour cherries being almost ready for picking. It isn't July yet.

Presentation went okay. I realized I was going to fast early on and slowed it down. So that's done.

Rain is coming down now. Tomorrow p.m. we're supposed to have "Thirsty Thursday" here. That will be my job for tomorrow. Hoping for decent weather.

Dee, thinking of you and hoping you are gaining strength all the time!

((LadyM)) feel better! Are you bruised? cut?

It's National Smoothie Day!

Nutri bullet people have 21 percent off blenders of all sizes today if anyone was interested - their email was how I knew about the day. I would seriously consider their large blender, except for counter space. Hmmm ... .. HRH wants an air fryer to be our next attempt at squeezing.

Grocery shopping done.

dd24 trimmed my hair.

Are you bruised? cut?
Yes to being bruised & cut. The cellar door is built into the floor and we typically walk on top of it. When we had a particularly dangerous storm come through earlier this week, I opened the cellar door and turned the light on so we could make a run for it if needed. I have always shut the cellar door but this time I forgot to go shut it after the storm passed. Yesterday morning I was doing a PUPA and was carrying a bag of items and not paying attention. Instead of stepping on solid surface I just stepped into open space.

I took a tumble all the way down the cellar steps flipping end over end on the way down and landing hard on the concrete cellar floor. One the way down I remember thinking "So this is how I am going to die?"
When I landed, I was lying on my right side with my head close to the bottom steps so I think I flipped feet over head 2 times. I realized what happened and that I was still alive. There was no pain. I immediately realized I was most likely very hurt and wondered what was broken. I was tentative in moving and found that my arms & legs seem to be working.
I checked my back pocket and was thankful that I had a cell phone. I called DH but he didn't answer.
I thought about calling DS14 or DD12 but decided I should call 911 if I truly needed help.

Since my body seemed to be working okay, I crawled up the 12 steps and was able to stand up with no problem.
I walked to the other end of the house where DH was in the bathroom and told him what happened.
It was at that time that my left leg started hurting.
Midway between ankle & knee was a gash but it didn't look deep. The shin bone was starting to swell.
My left knee was skinned in a couple of places.
Right leg - mid way between ankle & knee also had a couple of skinned place
Both of my shoulders on back side are sore & will probably have impressive bruises.
The right side of my head took a blow too, but I can't feel any knot and no cut.
I was wearing sunglasses on top of my head when I fell, and they broke as I tumbled down the steps so I assume I hit the top of my head at some point. My long hair was in a messy bun on the top of my head, so it most likely softened the blow.

It has been about 18 hours since it happened, and I continue to find more bruised places. Left thumb, left forefinger, right pinky, elbows, ankles, etc. Most of them just have small pieces of skin removed and are sore when touched or used.

I am just so thankful to be alive with no major damage done. I was already feeling crummy and running low grade fever from covid so the pain from the tumble just fits right in with the miserable feeling.

I have my eyes set on Friday or Saturday to feel better. Being battered & bruised is usually worse on the 3rd day so I got to get past that. DH just told me that he is feeling back to normal.

Oh my goodness, LadyM!!! (((BIG HUGS))) I think you ARE lucky to be alive! That fall sounds awful!
And Covid too…

I hate to even complain after reading that!
I don’t know what a Covid test would show, but I have felt pretty miserable the last day or so — general aches, especially head and back, very tired. I’ve just slept most of the day.

Dgs received his new phone today. He will be 11 on Monday. He has called us twice so far. He had internet access on the old one, but this is the first time he’s been able to call and text. I have mixed feelings about it but they have no landline, and he is getting old enough that he might be left home alone for 30 minutes or so, daytime, with other grandparents next door, and he doesn’t do social media, just games like Minecraft.
Dgd7 is sooo excited because she got his old phone!

LadyM :o Oh my goodness. I can't imagine how scary that must have been. My first thought was how are your hips? That's the thing that usually breaks on we ladies after a certain age. It makes me think how those infusions you were getting must have worked. That and Covid too. I hope you took it easy today and for a while till the aches and pains go away.

Wondering how Harriet's 1stMiL is doing.

I had some bookkeeping to do this morning. Got things changed around because of all the changes with the insurance policies - 1 less, 2 more. I set aside enough every month so that when these big bills come in there's enough saved in a separate column to pay them. Otherwise it looks like we have more money than we actually do, and even though we don't spend everything that comes in, I'd hate to start feeling like we could do something expensive and then not have enough left when these big amounts come due. That took a while to figure out.

I went grocery shopping today. Thought I had a short list...awful lot of bags for just that short list. Came out to load up the car and discovered DH had left his new truck tire in there...and it took up 9/10th of the space so I had trouble fitting everything in. When he bought the tire they told him their machine wouldn't balance it...so he left it in the car until he found someone to balance it. Then he forgot about it. Today he didn't remember why the tire was in there. When I realized that I told him and now he says he'll find someone tomorrow and get it out. It's always something around here.

Bought 4 greeting cards, I have 3 to send in the next several days and I was nervous I'd forget so I made a note for myself. I also bought a belated one on the odd event that I'd forget one. I have also started to put away meals for when DH gets his operation. So far just 1 meal but I have time to get that together.

We had a pretty good rain about 7:00. It was supposed to maybe come about 11:00! There's a tropical storm out there we're watching closely. I got some stuff for hurricane preparing. Crossing my fingers it weakens.
