LadyM: my foot 'drags' and I stumble over it a lot. That's from the disc in my back pushing on the nerve. Just a thought that something might be pushing on the nerve that controls your feet and when swelling goes down more, that range of motion will return.
Yesterday was busy and I'm getting exhausted. I can't even tell you when I will be able to regain strength because I can't put things into my calendar fast enough to see that.
At the beginning of this week I had dgs2 Tuesday and Wednesday and then about 2 hours with dgd4 (and half that with dgs6.) As well, a bbq to attend at noon on Wednesday and another last night. I had a church service to complete and practice the heck out of.
Then I ended up with dgs2 today and yesterday from 11 to after nap which turned out to be 10 - 3 and so I didn't finish the service before he arrived in the morning. When he was picked up ds asked if dgs2 could be picked up today at 7:30 instead of after nap, I gave a firm NO, I had a service to finish and practice and if dgs was here all day that wouldn't happen. I got home from the bbq last night at 8:30, cleaned up a bit and then worked on the service. I was so tired it took me an hour to figure out how to print the powerpoint slides with the speaker's notes because the interface has changed and the box indicated when I googled how to do it, wasn't there. So I got to bed after 11 instead of just after 10.
This morning I slept until my alarm at 6:45 and then got going, out of here at 8:30 having made a lunch for dgs2 and I. Ds dropped off dgs2 at dd's house and I babysat 2 little ones and then played with all three, we had lunch, I played fast children's music on the way home and dgs managed to stay awake until we got here and it is now 2.5 hours and he's still asleep.
Dh will drive him to his other grandparents' home when he is up and has had his milk and snack. Then he'll drive to dd's and pick up the cooler with the leftovers from lunch. I loaded the same number of things into the car as I had taken out BUT dgs's diaper bag was added so I should have loaded an extra item for the trip home. Luckily I had all of dgs's things.
Dh will pick up Chinese food on the way home.
I'll stay home from that and work on practicing the service.

After Lunch CI ...
Got out and did a bit more with the hand saw got the grape vines cut off that I could not break and low enough to dig out at some point.
So happy I did that they were entwined around a tomato cage glad I realized that before I had it hitting the saw.
Did up the dishes.
Some good news:
Taking a bit of a break, no one has run their mower so far this day most did it during the week it is nice and peaceful.
I think I may have remembered where the paperwork is I have been looking for I have a basket for paper work on the workspace in my office area so will be looking for that when I get a minute.
K in C that is exctly why I have not filled out paper work to be a church helper, feel like I've done my bit with that through my lift time and
lifting babies changing them etc. nope. They have a slug of new births this year too. I have all I can handle around here as it is. Even after skipping out of the Tues. group still a full docket. Fam. coming next mo. too.
Ta Daa: I mowed the back yard front doesn't need it!
Shopped at home from the freezer.
We had thunder and I had to go put the mower under theeves got some nice rain after that.
I painted my rocks and sealed them too.
One I did before is holding down the tarp now.
I cooked my dinner with veg. Did up the dishes.
Took night Rx. bed is next up.
Got my shower tonight.

Re: Saturday Strength Gain
Yeah, we can get over scheduled and not really enjoy life that much. Somehow DH and I missed a lunch we were supposed to go to this past Thursday. I had it on the calendar and I was actually paying attention to that calendar while I was figuring out all the birthdays and what cards I needed and when to send. A week before the event we actually talked about it, DH and I. Outside of church, it's really the only social thing we do together. We were asking each other how do others remember all their stuff? We seem to be having so much trouble doing that these days. At least so far we haven't missed any drs. or dentists appointments.
LadyM, if your thigh muscles are sore or your hips your body might not be wanting to lift up your legs the way that's usually normal for you. Been through this with DH a lot.
Pretty nice storm rolled through but it's sunny and blue skies again. We had a lot of lightning. I had to reset the clocks.
I am going through things. I finished that clothes drawer. It looks so good now. I had to try on a few things. A couple things to the donate box. One little shoe box of nice but a bit snug things to keep. Then I brought out my bag of scrapbooking stuff (I don't have a lot) and reorganized and sorted. I keep the pages that fit the nice album I have of all the grandkids baby/toddler / pre-teen pictures. And some nice card stock etc., and little scraps I'd kept are all tossed. I was surprised at some of the junk I kept. When I go through things, I have this in my mind: "if you were moving and packing would you want to take this with you". Most likely when I ask that question the answer is NO.

Re: Saturday Strength Gain
I ended up going and laying on the bed and reading for a bit. I think I also slept on and off over a couple of hours.
Then I went to knitting and there were only 3 of us there.
Now I'm waiting for dh to tell me when he's hungry and I will BBQ the sausages.

NEGATIVE! I got a negative covid test result today! WhooHoo!
Although my temperature didn't stay normal. It is 99.8F now. Nothing bad but frustrating because I want normal temperature AND negative test result.
I won't feel comfortable being around people until I have 24 hours of no fever. That means no church attendance for me again tomorrow. It is coming down to the wire on whether VBS will be possible. VBS starts on Monday, and I am supposed to be helping make/serve/cleanup snacks for 125 kids each day. Thankfully there is an abundance of volunteers so me not being there doesn't cause a big problem.
I have physically pushed myself harder than I planned today so i am going to make myself get back in the recliner for the rest of the day. I don't know what is causing the fever and I don't want to relapse.

I'm thankful that you are on the road to recovery LadyM. Please go and hold down your recliner for a while.
We have had supper.
I went to a garden centre in the town just to the west of us. It's closing in August after over 100 years in business. Right now things are 50% off. It was like Boxing day in the parking lot with spaces being waited for. I had to wait for a space when I got there. There was 1 available buggy. I got some 10 inch terracotta pots and 2 wheeled bases in a terracotta coloured plastic. I also got some more glazed bases. The interior is glazed, but the exterior looks like regular terracotta. I'm quite happy with my purchases. I didn't get any plants, but there was a nice lilac for $250! Some of these bushes and trees are mature. IF I go back with the truck, I might need to look at the mature trees and plants more closely.

Re: Saturday Strength Gain
LadyM: If VBS can manage without you, negative and fever-free or not, I'd still let someone else step-up to cover for you. I found I couldn't make it through a full day without major napping, for several weeks after (although, unlike you, I gave up trying to get a negative test and just 'timed-out' when it came to being around others.) Now, my circumstances (being not 100% before getting sick and all the stress of dh's surgery and non-recovery) could have played a role in that, but I really feel it is OK to be gracious to ourselves and allow ourselves the time it takes to fully recover.
Of course, you can choose to ignore advice from someone as over-booked as I am right now!
I've been through the service multiple times and am still not comfortable. I still have no sense of how I'll manage the movement, in our church there's a lot of moving around while working and the other ministers do it carrying a tablet.
I will do the sermon from my laptop as that's one place I'm not comfortable handling the paper, powerpoint is meant to be done from a screen, not paper and the printout I have is awkward. I am taking the draft with my changes "just in case" but I'll take my computer as well.
During dinner while we watched the hour long episode of TV, I updated my bullet journal by sketching in the weekly pages for July, August and September (still have to fill in things.) Getting them filled in will help me calm down a bit and help me focus on "what's next".
I'm off to bed now so I'll get a reasonable shot a good night's sleep.
Tomorrow is church and in the afternoon visiting with dd's family for dinner (Father's Day meal.) The smoke is back, and will be high risk for everyone tomorrow.
I'm not sure when my housework gets done this week, still trying to find some time for that.
