Nancy - they are making good progress on your roofing projects.

We now have TWO tiny baby kittens. >>>shaking my head<<<< We don't have emergency walk-in vet place within 25 miles so we took the tiny kitten to a nearby lady who raises all kinds of animals. We needed someone with experience to tell us what to do. She offered to take the kitten and raise it but DD12 wants to care for it. The lady explained the kitten needed to be fed every 1 to 2 hours around the clock but that didn't deter DD12. Someone had dropped off a tiny kitten at the lady's home this morning that is about a week older than ours. When the two kittens were put together in a kennel, they immediately cuddled up to each other. DD12 offered to care for the other tiny kitten also. So, the lady showed DD12 how to care for them and gave us eye drops and equipment to use. We made a stop at the coop for kitten milk replacer, nipples, and wet type cat food. I hope these tiny kittens live and DD12 doesn't have her heart broken.

Harmony - thanks for the knowledge and advice. The lady told DD12 that she needed to stimulate (wipe) the kittens under the tail so they could go to bathroom. I will tell DD12 about also wiping the stomach areas.

I'm thrilled to find a date of birth of one of my ancestors. He appeared in the 1830 and 1840 censuses but died before 1850. Those early census records only indicated a range for age, and the two conflict. I thought I remembered seeing that he gave a deposition in a court case - this was before I had identified him as an ancestor - and I finally found it. He gave a deposition on 1 January 1825 and was about fifty-three, placing his birth about 1772.

The rain has moved through and we're pretty sunny. The air quality has improved, although we're still in the moderate range.

Needed to print something and now printer is jammed. I hate it when that happens! Now I have to go troubleshoot.

Poor dh is in a tizzy because the credit card he uses has been compromised and used.

And we realized last night that our passports expire in November, and we're planning a spring trip with friends M&S to Europe.

Good, I see the better milk has been discovered for kitten(s). I was about to post that cow's milk might give a tummy ache, etc.

Yesterday I saw an animal in flowers, too, but it was long and black and I didn't pick it up. When I went in the house, quickly, HRH said, "you look like you just saw a snake". He is empathetic. Or perhaps I have a specific "I just saw a snake" look, I don't know.

We decided we have nothing to protect from it, so I just didn't go back out for a while. But it was really close to the house, eek.

Mystery, your editing is much more formal than any I used to do, but I used to simply flag an entire paragraph and say it was "confusing, please address", especially if I didn't want to say what was wrong but thought it was obviously embarrassing. I made sure I did it so seldom that it was a surprise, and got attention.

We made a trip out to pharmacy 1. Nothing else - we were kinda looking for down time, I think. While we were gone, 2 appt confirmations came in by phone. Sigh. Of course they did, right when we weren't here.

Harriet - Thank you for the milk advice. Both of the kids had read that online and were telling me it was wrong to feed cow's milk to kittens. I only know when we were milking cows at dairy, we always put out the extra milk for the many cats/kittens that stayed around the barns. They seemed to thrive on it. Maybe because it was raw milk and had heavy cream? Now that we know better, we won't be feeding cow milk to the kittens.

Harmony - I hope your pc is an easy fix. My laptop that refused to do anything a couple days ago is now working fine. I put the laptop into time out....which just means I walked away from it before I became frustrated. Later I did a couple of hard reboots and the laptop started working and I haven't had a problem since. I could (should) look at the log files to find out what the problem was but I haven't done that yet.

Harmony -- I hope you have better luck with the laptop than I have had recovering my data from the old computer. I need to text the former student/tech wizard. It's been over three weeks since I've heard from him and I suspect that is because he has given up also.

So glad you're getting everything done with your roof and deck, Nancy! WTG!!!

Awwww.... I'm just picturing dd with the baby kittens, LadyM... I bet she'll do a wonderful job with them!

AND EEEEEK!!!! Picturing Harriet's animal in the flowers!!!

I've been to the drug store also, and
to the post office,
made a phone call re: that tinnitus med I recommended the other day -- apparently our continuing shipments had been interrupted when the credit card changed (even though we did call them and correct it at that time) -- AND
spent probably an hour online trying to figure out a website dh uses every month, which had "improved" their site "to make it more user-friendly," which was definitely NOT the case... finally gave in and called them and found out the problem is on their end.
DH's cousin will be here in about an hour and we will go out to eat, then visit at dbil's house. Thank goodness for that!

DGrands expect to go swimming tomorrow, so Nana will make that happen also, despite the unreal temperatures we are having. Right now it's 94/feels like 108. High today and tomorrow is 99, with 30/40% chance of rain.
We did get storms yesterday -- ds said larger than pea size hail, and he lost a very large branch from a tree. We missed it all while we were in theater in Next Town.

Mystery, good luck to you on the editing job. Sounds frustrating.

WTG on getting the answer to your genealogy work, Twins! But -- ugh -- (((HUGS))) for the computer and credit card woes.

Better go change clothes...
Tomorrow is another day.

Ds has called twice, am I SURE dgs’ swimsuit isn’t here at our house? (Yes. I am sure. I know they could lose an elephant over there.)
Tomorrow is another day.

Lady M I'm sure the animal lady was talking about the same stimulation I was. She said under the tail, but she should catch the areas where liquid and solids come out. The belly, not so much but I'd bet a kitten would enjoy that too if it feels warm and like a mama cat's tongue.

Lucylee, we just have a desktop computer. So we must take the tower away to be fixed. A little good news there.... Lady hooked it up and it started right up for her. So she shut it down and tried again..nope, couldn't get it started. So she has ordered another on/off switch. We knew it was iffy a year ago. I had called her after we got it back from her and she said to push at the outer right edge of the button, that was what she did. So she knew it wasn't working 100 percent but didn't fix it then. When we lost electric it turned off and we couldn't get the switch to work. So hopefully a quick fix if she can get the part. I'm sorry you've never been able to get yours fixed. Amazing and wonderful lady M's laptop is working again.

I really miss having a working computer. This posting from a phone is the pits.

I'm so impressed with Elizabeth's repairs to her vent and (was it) the washer? I think we need you around here!
