I'm back! Imagine that!
I hope the dental appointment goes well, Twins, and the curriculum search, LadyM! Nancy, your house sounds like a resort!
Cathy, I hear you on the dishes! There's a reason I have "keep up with dishes" on my get-ready-for-the-trip list -- I don't want to have to deal with a pile of them before I go out the door, and I know I will if I don't keep reminding myself.
Latest updates on the l**t:
Meet (online) with dfriend regarding work (not happening first, but top of the list anyway)
Pay medical bills
Clean off tray table
Keep up with dishes
Tidy bathroom
Catch up on laundry: Reds (currently in dryer)
Catch up on laundry: Lights
Dead flowers to compost
Clean up my dining table hot spot
Make packing l**t
Going to dance with the laundry twins and then have lunch.

hello d mystery!!!
thank you for the start
I found I was feeling sorry for myself - not depressed or anything - but not doing what I could do and getting frustrated by how long things take me to do.
I have to remember I CAN do something!!!
So I hope I can get get here and start to work again!

However, I found it to be like trying to drink from a fire hose.
I think I got to a point in the book and stopped reading once I got the gist of what you've got above, LadyM.
I finished a.m. routine before I left for dentist. And I forgot the plaster cast of my mouth that they can use to make another mouthguard; the ddog chewed on the old one. It's been usable, but has rough edges. Dental appointment went well otherwise. I rarely have anything they can work on!
I had lunch, soon it's time to head to workout.

Good to see you, blessed!
I wouldn't have expected you to have a plaster cast of your mouth, Twins. I wonder why they can't take a mold in the office -- or would the mold get turned into the plaster cast?
Time to move a little further down the l**t. I think I mentioned that I need to physically present my I-9 documentation at the temp agency's office half an hour away -- well, I just got notified that they'd like me to do it between 5 and 8 tomorrow. So, rush hour or dinner time?
Anyhow, for my (our?) current amusement:
Keep up with dishes
Keep up with dailies
Catch up on laundry: Reds
Catch up on laundry: Lights
Clean up my dining table hot spot
Make packing list for Cape Cod
Wish Dfriend a happy birthday
Get DD bathing suit
Pick up DC birthday gifts (they will be turning 21 on our trip)
Make list for drugstore
Not on the official list but something I should do soon: go up to the attic and claim dibs on the suitcase I want!

(((Blessedw2))) Yes you can do something. Start small and celebrate your successes.
I am enjoying seeing the SHE's effort and success of staying up with dishes in the kitchen sink. It reminds me to not let that slide.
I am cautiously optimistic. I haven't missed an hour of meeting my step goal. 6 hours out of 14 done. I do not expect perfection, but I can't deny the pleasure it gives me to keep up with these.
I have two types of meat thawing but neither one was ready for lunch. I made a big container of pimento & cheese spread to have on hand. There are also leftovers available. DH and I had bean burritos for our lunch. They are super easy to make because the ingredients are always on hand.
More Atomic Habit notes....
Identity based habits.
Outcomes are about what you get. Many people begin to change habits by focusing on WHAT they want to achieve.
Processes are about what you do.
Identity is about what you believe. The focus is on who you wish to become.
Behind every system of actions is a system of belief.
Behavior that is incongruent with the self will not last.
The proof of who I am shows up in what I do. I am the type of person who does these habits.
True behavior change is identity change.
1. Decide the type of person you want to be
2. Prove it to yourself with small wins
*** Clean hands like a surgeon
**Wash hands with soap thoroughly and frequently.
** Once hands are clean be aware if/when they touch anything unclean.
** Decisions like a healthy person.
** Ask myself "What would a healthy person do differently?"
** Would a healthy person eat this….or this?
** Would a healthy person sit or be in motion?

Well I just got back from getting my hair cut and then eating my lunch. My hair had gotten pretty long so I cut off about 2 inches and am happy with that. I like it long as I can put it up in many different ways while its so hot around here. I sleep with it wrapped in a bun because I cant stand to feel my hair hanging around the back of my neck. Think it from all those years I rolled my hair every night and then slept on it that way.
We finally had a good rainstorm this morning. Thunder work me up at 4:30 this morning, but I was able to get back to sleep. Got up and drank my coffee and did my morning routines before I left for my hair cut.
Yesterday I had to take Sweetie to his sleep disorder appointment. His dr ordered a sleep test and this was an orientation appointment. His test will be later in Aug. The nurse we talked to said there have been recent studies that using a c-pak when needed helps to slow down Alzheimer's for some people. Told Sweetie that his restless legs..I call them his giggly legs..are caused by not enough oxygen reaching his brain and the restless legs are a way to wake his body so he will breath more. We'' see what the tests show.
And since we were in a part of town that we don't usually travel to, I took the opportunity to take Sweetie out to lunch at one of our favorite places to eat. The original restaurant that was only 2 miles from our home, but was destroyed by Hurricane Ian. It was on the water front and swept away by the storm. The food is wonderful and we really missed it not being close by. Our lunch did not disappoint, we had grouper tacos...and I told Sweetie it looked like we would be come back to the new place at least once a month.
Sweetie thanked me for a wonderful adventure. I hadn't eaten much on Sat or Sunday because I had a stomach flair up and I was really hungry.
Tomorrow I have an appointment to have my car looked at. The trunk latch is not working properly so I haven't been able to use it. Too afraid I'd get my groceries in there and then wouldn't be able to open it. Also the bell that dings when you leave your keys in the ignition or forget to put on your seat belt keeps going off when it shouldn't. I want to take Sweetie on a day trip up to Sarasota, but don't want to take a trip there unless I am sure the car is working properly.
My former husband was a builder and I often wonder what he will do with all his equipment and tools. I still talk to him and at this time he is just letting it sit in his shop. Sweetie has boxes of stuff as well as tools sitting in our garage as well. He also has a bunch in his office. I know he will never use most of it again but I don't think he will be getting rid of much any time soon. I might be able to prod him along a bit since we are now in discussions as to what our future holds. We downsized when we moved here. We have a single story home and lawn service just for that reason. This home is smaller than I would like, but know I can handle it on my own. All of our recent decisions have been based on that, and thankfully Sweetie was agreeable to most.
His Shelby Cobra still sits in our garage and he's only driven it twice around the neighborhood. I am waiting for him to decide to sell it.
Congrates to all Nancy,, Blessed, Harmony, and Mystery are getting done!!! Feels good doesn't it. I must boast that my closet is still in pristine condition and still looks exactly like it did when I finished working on it. What that tells me is I set it up and found all the perfect homes for everything in it. We both still enjoy looking at. I love when that happens

My guy friend is coming for brunch this week here.
-----
I napped.
I had over 10,000 steps before noon today.
CI ... You all would be so proud of me I cleaned out pans to make room for the new ones.
Called dd and decided she wants first dibs on them.
Decided where I would put them in the box the new pans came in some in the sm. shed with camping gear larger cast iron ones.
Smaller ones dd wants for sure soon.
The other revere ware fit in the inner box and I have scooted it in the spare bed room for her to look through when she is here later this week.
Then it can go in the basement or in the shed for when grands may need it someday.
Feels like a big step and I am so proud to have this much done feels like I"ve reclaimed my kitchen yea!
Had a bs crash in the middle of this and that made it a bit more of a challenge.
It was good to know what dd was interested in like this summer and other things for possibly later.
Other grands maybe want some too. I will have to check with them I guess.

I am t.i.r.e.d. I think the heat is getting to me, and the workout was hard, as always, but not so bad I think I shouldn't go back! The air quality here has improved, but that means there's more sunshine instead of haze, so it got hotter out. Ddog is on the porch outside in the shade at least.
I should be good on my steps today. Because I'm doing a genealogy institute next week I won't be able to workout, so I scheduled an extra for this Friday and the Friday of the week after next.
I'm tired.
Later, and now, there's a severe T storm watch in effect, prob won't see storms until seven p.m. tho.

Appreciate the notes on the book. I have had that one on my list for a long time. On that theme, I've changed up some habits that have made a huge difference. I wash dishes more often. I do more things in my nightly routine. Looks better around here more often. I got these changes from some of the videos I've been watching. Very helpful.
I went with DH to the dentist. While he was back in the room, I talked to the gal at the front desk. I scheduled his next 2 crowns on the same day. They said they could do that since he does his work without numbing shots. They're both on the bottom on opposite sides of his mouth. He got one crown done today and they will pop the permanent one in when he gets the other 2 temp. ones done. I also scheduled his deep cleaning. Then he's done. He keeps telling me he doesn't want to get any more work done, and I keep making the appointments and talking him into them. We're making progress. I explained that I'd like to have all this done before he gets his knee done. I think we're on track and can stretch out the time before he gets that done. Tonight I explained all the appointments to him and he didn't complain this time. Maybe he's given up fighting me about it all.
Stopped at store on the way back. He stayed in the car and I did the fastest shopping I've ever done and got a bunch. Then we got some gasoline. He thinks maybe he can get the rest of the goop under the edges of the letters off with it. We'll see.
While he finished his yard work, I worked on the remaining letters. They are some kind of vinyl sorta stretchy letters and numbers and have the feel of electric tape. Black, 3 sizes, the biggest ones are the hardest to remove. I got more off, all on one side except the highest biggest line. I got the double back doors ones off and another line of the 2nd side. Up on the step stool to do another line, and a taller ladder to get the big top ones. One side is complete. 2nd side still has the biggest ones on. I got too pooped to continue and we went in. Pulling these off is like exercising with those elastic bands. My arms and shoulders and neck are incredibly sore.
I got a shower, I didn't know I could sweat this much. Slept on the couch and DH heated up the leftover chicken and other stuff and potatoes I'd bought...and I was so incredibly thankful for this help. We are doing better, both feeling happy for this progress. Every little bit helps.
We had sprinkles this morning, rumbles of thunder too. Then sprinkles on and off all day... and finally late this afternoon a steadier rain. Surely an answer to prayer.
Tomorrow I'll get that one line of letters / numbers off. Every square inch of this truck is filled with equipment and supplies. There's still much to do.
