Twins, thanks for quoting my Sat. post on today's. I was really confused.

Has the place where New Topic is put changed? I don't remember seeing it down there next to where we click to reply. Yesterday DSis-I-L called to see how we were and I was really having trouble thinking about anything. I couldn't remember the name of 'snack bar' as we were talking about cleaning out cabinets to downsize. She's big on not keeping much of anything.

Anyway, I wasn't sure how the day would go and didn't know if I'd be back, so I just posted in Saturdays. I am doing way better than I thought I'd do. My sore throat is not nearly as bad as when I woke up. That's a relief.

So, I guess I'll go tackle that statement, and that will be it for the month. I am running a temp. but it's only 100 so I'm not going to worry about it. I wish I had the energy to change my sheets, but it will have to wait a day. DH's temp is down to 101 and it had been 102.5 for days. I hate being hot like this. Maybe a cooler nightgown...

All this has made me think about what things are absolutely necessary to do to keep a house running, and what things just make the house run easier and nicer? I'm down to absolute necessities right now and things don't look as nice as usual, but we're not falling apart!

really having trouble thinking about anything

This was me during covid. I just gave into it and did as little as possible. I recognized that I was not thinking clearly so the less I did the less I could mess up. I made sure we stayed extra hydrated because of the fever. I stayed in recliner or bed most of the time. I counted 5 days from when I got sick and ignored everything I could while waiting for those 5 days to pass.

Harmony: nothing has been changed on the boards so it has always been there but I just noted it once the boards were so slow. I think I was staring at the corner for so long, waiting to see if anything was going to happen that I finally focused on it.

That way you can see if anyone has started the day before you. Assuming you know what day of the week it is. That's what I was confused about the week before last.

You do not have to be nurse to your dh right now. Period. If he needs a nurse, he can call the county and ask social services to have them send someone out to the house for him.

I got up and going quickly this morning, since I had to do an errand for the guy in the building across the street. I took my tea with me and sat on a bench to enjoy the dogs and birds for a while, and then came up to our balcony and promptly lost 2 hours just enjoying sitting out.

We have no heat, humidity, or smoke right now. It is such a relief to have a regular summer day. (Actually heat and humidity are part of our summers but as I get older they seem worse - I don't think the data confirms it.)

I've done a bit of tidying, and putting things 'right', including putting signs on all the windows needing repairs.

The wind scoops on our weather station were broken by the hail, so a new set are arriving today thanks to Amazon. So that's two things broken but my plants weren't damaged at all and nothing else was even out of place on the balconies. We were lucky. One resident had screens shredded by the hail, but ours were fine except for the spline that was pulled from the screen and frame and is now dangling.

Dh has proposed a walk this afternoon. He also walks faster than me but I'll break off at his 1/3 point and walk back home on my own so he can continue apace.

I need to get groceries in so we'll go out for dinner and then I'll do shopping after so we don't have to carry things. I think Walmart may be the 'winning' store since I need a couple of non-grocery items as well.

I had a hb patty on a bun forgot my mater oops!
Another oops put a soda in the freezer to chill it and forgot it.
I am processing another layer on being a widow not grief or crying just and understanding of things that are diff. now like
Pr. 31 verses / Painting is good for that for me.
It is hard to explain to folks trying to get you to go to their meeting when sometimes you just need a bit of down time.
Ok I am back to the last few sides of the crate I am doing.
I did the dishes and put them away.

Put away the painting stuff I had rounded up and was in the wagon by the shed it's in the shed now.
I put the crates for a taller shelf in the shed and sorted out a few things that can leave on trash day too yea for a few min. spiff & declutter
in the shed wa - hoo!
Ate my mater slice! M-m-m good.
Have a restful Sunday.
Back to my resting mode.

Decluttering progress yea!
Got plastics sorted in the shed and the neighbor's friend took the big pans and plasitc containers with lids!
Wa-hoot I brought up the other trash can for the odds & ends that do not fit in the trash this week.
I cleaned the drawer under the oven yea it was not full! Just one broiler pan in it.

Dh and I bought a new wheelbarrow today. A metal one. Hopefully this one will last more than 8 years.

Dh helped me with supper prep and setting the table. He also helped me clear the table.

We had a delightful rainfall. No thunder or lightning, but it certainly took care of the gardens.

We're getting rain or at least were getting rain an hour ago.

We got the groceries, or at least enough to manage. Went to three stores and some of the items I went for specifically weren't there. Sigh.... I went to our local store last and price matched as much as I could but they were my stop for chicken thighs and they didn't have any.

Once home and the groceries put away, I started in on the house blessing and got the office, dining room, front entry, and kitchen vacuumed. Dh had to mop for me because I was changing the mop head off my Vileda spin mop and when it popped off, finally, I clocked myself with the mop handle. It still hurts but may not swell (can't say it won't bruise) because I iced it for 25 minutes off and on while dh mopped.

I've assembled the play table for dgs2 and it won't work in the living room (too small) so I've flipped the table-top surface to the smooth side from Lego side and will use it in the kitchen for him to play/eat at which is better because small is better there. The bigger child's 'card table' will remain in the living room because the toy bin can fit under it when he's not here. Eventually, I'll get my shelves for toy storage and probably should have bought those instead of the play table but I had a vision that ended up not working as I planned.

The living room will get a quick vacuum and possibly the bedroom before dgs gets here tomorrow morning. We didn't get home until 8 from the shopping and then with my accident I didn't finish the vacuuming before 9, my cut-off for making noise.

I'm heading to bed now. Paperwork is still all over everywhere but I'm too tired to work on it. I need a week of nothing but myself to get that caught up.
