Blessed - I enjoyed your philosophical moment. I'm over here giving a standing ovation and shouting for More! More!
LOl. It is good to see you posting.
Anyone have any suggestions for waking up?
Moving doing anything. Just the act of moving seems to wake me up better than anything.

Mystery - It is good to see you back from your trip. I hope you have a smooth transition from vacation mode to work mode.

I have been busy and productive this morning. There were many first of the month things to take care of, kid care, DH care, preparing food, etc.

We teamed up to take the Duramax pickup to the city to get the front end repaired. DH was unsure if the vehicle would make the 30 minute drive but we decided to try it. Thankfully it made it without any problems.

Back from checking on a leak in the church building. DS14 was home on his lunch hour and went with us. That fella is a force to be reckoned with! We had to stop him from doing the repairs. DS14 was confident that he knew exactly how & what was needed to repair the leak. I am not ready to turn DS14 loose with repairing/replacing the church plumbing. If anything went wrong.... We told DS14 to get his boss involved and approved the two of them doing the repairs together.

Raising the kids is a LOT OF NONSTOP EFFORT but it is also a lot of fun involved. The kids had me laughing so hard on the way back from the city that I almost had to pull to the side of the interstate. I was laughing so hard that tears were streaming down my face. #GoodTimes

DD12 rarely asked for anything. EVER. So, when she asked if we could go see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie, I instantly said YES1 We are going to make another trip to the city to see the first showing of it this afternoon. I'm not a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fan but I am all-in on watching it with DD12.

After I posted earlier I went out and cut the grass. Dh has been busy holding down the bed and the couch/sofa/chesterfield. When I came in, I went into the bedroom to lay beside him and read. I fell asleep.

Now I am up again and I have corn on the cob soaking in water so I can BBQ it later.

Dh decided to help with washing some pots/pans/large utensils/knives yesterday. I will have to redo all of it because every single thing feels greasy. I did thank him for doing what he did. He has also been clearing the table after supper.

Been busy all day!

Up and got routines done. Showered, washed my hair and then got my Amazon packages to return at the UPS. I have a birthday party and it took me several stores to find what I wanted. I was looking for save poolside margarita glasses.

Searched and searched several stores but every one was stocked with fall and Halloween things. Decided I would just order some glasses from Amazon and give them to my friend late.

On a whim I stoped into my charity resale shop and lo and behold found two brand new plastic glasses that were just what I was looking for. Took them to the registrar and the two glasses rang up $.58!!!!!

Stopped at the dollar store and bought wrappings, ribbons and tissue paper so I am all set for tomorrow. Glad to get that done.

Nice to see Blessed and Mystery checking in… same with Harmony :D

Twins… I have a Contigo bottle that I’ve had for a long time. I fill it up at dinner with ice and water and put it by my bed at night and when I wake up in the morning there is still ice in it. I also have a much longer bottle that holds 32 ozs and it does the same thing. Even when I took it with me in the desert with 110+ temps
I still had ice by the end of the day.

Off to get the rest of my steps in. Should be able to do that before 5… need to hot foot it on my gazelle, no pun intended

Yep, RR, gotta love those water tumblers. Mine goes with me in the car anytime I go out and I keep some bottled water in the car to refill it if needed. (And it fits in the cup holder, some others I've had didn't.) It goes upstairs with me. Since we drove to dfriends' home in ATL a couple of weeks ago it went there, and went poolside to their trivia pursuit game. In the evening it goes to the bedroom with me and is still cold in the a.m. My original cup got pretty banged up at the beach and its scratched up too so I had ordered a new one - took about a week before I realized the new one wasn't keep cool. They're sending me the "Tennessee TriStar" as my choice. Very preppy looking: https://www.swiglife.com/collections/in ... oz-tumbler My first was a gift - in retrospect one of the best gifts I've received!

I got in my workout and didn't croak over.

(Harriet) On phone calls I have not heard the results of my a1c. It's been weeks.

I will say I am very pleased with the results of this 2nd coat of paint it made all the difference and the cut out I use for a cutting
board looks like I got it to go with this new project dd asked if it was new nope I had it here for several years.
I have been resting a bit and did some back hip exercises they are helping I think.
I have been out to the patio to pick up and put away drop clothes, brushes, etc.
moves dome blocks I used in the process and it looks better and all spiffed up now.

I still have buckets of rocks here and there but I will have to decide where they can go next...
I am hoping to move a few each morning as I am waking up I can walk around the yard and place them in the spot
I deem perfect! LOL!

CI This afternoon I pruned off the suckers on the big maple tree out front.
Got em rested then went back out and raked them up to the other side of the driveway in the shade.
I will pick them up in the cool of the morning not sure what day but at least the tree looks better now yea for that progress!

A quick check in to say hello! The weather here has not been as hot and humid as the last few weeks. Temps will be in the mid/high 80s for a few more days at least. It's a little bit of relief.

I have paid my bills for this month. It feels good to be able to do this once a month then forget it till the next month bills are due again!

Thursday Dson-T, Ddil-A and I are riding up to Dulles airport to meet up with my Ddil-Y and dgrdaughter-M. They are on their way to Ottawa, Canada for the Highland Games at Maxville? (I think that's the name of the city). They have a six hour layover before their final flight, so Ddil and Dson thought we might meet with them and visit for a while. I haven't seen them since November when they came to Dgrdaughter-H's wedding, and before that was in 2022.

Dgrdaughter-H is feeling somewhat better, she is 25 weeks along now. Her Dh-C is out in Las Vegas and San Diego for his yearly duty training. He should be home by next week.

Dgrdaughter-H's birthday was on Saturday and we all went out to the movies and dinner. Her dfriend-A met up with us also. The movie was the new Disney The Haunted Mansion. We all enjoyed it. We had dinner at the Olive Garden.

Not much else is new right now; I'm still keeping up with my routines and trying to stay busy with my sewing and reading . Take care everyone.

Well, another month. They do fly by. I'm glad it's not another quarter. I have no work I have to do for a while. I did appreciate the pass I got to not do work for the end of the month yesterday. My spreadsheets can wait.

I got a scare today. DH was flat out on the bed again and clothes were all over the floor everywhere. I made him and me a couple eggs and took his back and said Here Eat This Now! He said he was dying. Not sure he meant that, but that he was feeling awful. Went back later and the egg was still there. Come on, UP you have to fight this thing so you can help me, I need help. So he got up and ate. He'd had a hard time in the bathroom and ended up in the shower. I am soaking clothes...I'll spare you the details of all that.... and then I made him coffee and had him up drinking... then some electrolyte drink which he's sipping. Man I think he had just about given up.

I slept in till 1:30 with one trip up to get another box of tissues. If I hadn't had to take Rx's I probably would have stayed in bed. It was better for me to get up. So anyway, the severity of my sore throat has eased, and I can tell my limit for being on my feet because I get dizzy. I had no idea people got this sick from this variant. I did manage to get the mail but that was almost a trip too far.

Nice to see Mystery and blessed here today. Blessed, I like your analogy. I think it comes from the tales of God being up on the mountaintop and that's where we go to meet him.

Ok that's it for today. Need to go sit again. I think my fever is breaking...whew!

Harmony, I am so sorry to hear that dear Mr. Harmony is having it so rough. This very much sounds like how HRH describes me to his friends, about back when he was having the difficult series of treatments in 2019. He says (and I sort of remember) that I would be a drill sergeant type, saying yes you will get up, yes you will eat something, yes you will drink water, take meds, etc. I am both SO glad you are there for Mr. Harmony and SO hopeful you will take good care of yourself. I hope you are checking in with the dds, etc., every day and keeping many IRL folks updated on your progress, needs.

My chores got done except for one bill. Added watering outside all that I can water with hoses. S2S (which doesn't seem like much, but added to a long day was actually tiring).

Lots of work in my planner to commemorate the day.

Longish talk with dd24 about how the next, approx, 10 months or so will go for her. She has a week's travel to be a maid of honor on the west coast, a week's travel to visit further family of the young man after a recent bereavement. She must choose various folks such as caterer, photog. Decisions about art opportunities in 2024 and whether she has time to pursue them. whew.

Mystery
, sometimes a day comes when you have to power through because of responsibilities that won't get out of the way, and then you're more tired than you want at night BUT after that good sleep you do get a "do-over" and a head start on the next day's schedule the way you want it. What kind of tea? Various levels of caffeine - some make a difference, some don't. If the caffeine isn't there, then I fear (for me) the only thing a warm cup of tea/coffee does is make me feel even cozier than the cozy chair on its own! If I really didn't want to get sleepy, then I needed to keep powering through. Also, REWARDS that are non-food and maybe even active-ish or creative can make a difference. Creativity is as good as caffeine. "A change of occupation is rest," said Ruth Stout.
