Squeezing in a minute to check in!
Last night, I never got back and it's probably a good thing. Terrible mood.
We went to see the movie, The Hiding Place -- the Corrie Ten Boom WWII story. Well, I had read the book and thought the movie would be so good. And it's not bad; not at all... but I was so disappointed. It's like a FILM version of a stage PLAY. The actors are even wearing the little earpiece microphones throughout. Older Corrie is narrating and it goes back and forth from childhood Corrie to WWII Corrie to after-war Corrie. I would have enjoyed a LIVE play, but the film version of the play was just kinda distracting.
But that was just the beginning of my bad mood -- I was driving back home and we got stuck in traffic because of a wreck on the interstate. I mean -- five lanes completely stopped for what seemed like forever. In reality, the holdup and the detour around it added at least 45 minutes to our trip. Whew.
Of course, we were thankful we were not IN the wreck... and we did have a really good supper at Outback steakhouse before the movie.

So today, I've not done much. DGD has been here since around 2:00 pm. She is outside with dh right now. He's just sitting on the porch, listening to the Grand Ole Opry on the radio, and she is blowing bubbles.

Monday is "Meet the Teacher" Day for both dgrands, and Tuesday we are planning a final day of summer trip to the Alabama Music Hall of Fame. Then Wednesday, they are back in school.

(((LadyM))) -- I hope you feel better soon! That is so good that one of the friend's parents will be able to take the boys to the dirt track. Just take care of yourself. And yes, it IS wonderful that ds wants to see you out for conversation so much.

I must wash dishes tonight, Nancy! Thanks for the reminder. Although the sink full of drinking cups is a pretty clear reminder...

Kathryn, I'm so glad the storms did not hit close to you, and that your dd & family are having a good camping trip. I remember going camping with my parents and some friends when I was about 10-12. I'm not a HUGE fan of camping, but it was nice to sleep and hear the sounds of nature and everything.
Same with boating. I was never a big fan, but now... I'd love to spend the day on the river with my parents again.

Cathy -- good that you got the electrical outlets fixed. Hope the barter system ;) doesn't end up to be too much trouble for your dh!
Now, they're all free days, lol!
LOL, Twins... this is sooo true... and it leads to my lack of any semblance of routine around here. I don't know if there is any hope for me to ever have much structure or routine to my life. And I in some ways I miss having a schedule, and in other ways, I have so little energy and lack motivation to do much of anything. I never finished the laundry this week, never did even part of the WHB, and ZONES -- what are zones???

I got about 6.5 hours sleep last night. Then, with stomach distress continuing, I took my fiber pills and some Imodium, and told dgd I HAD TO take a short nap. I did feel much better when I woke up, and we've been to Chick-Fil-A for supper. DH suggested it; he said he knew if I was still in a bad mood, that was a good way to make me feel better. He's not wrong.
OTOH, my allergy symptoms seem to have eased somewhat since I woke up. But dgd was putting on a show -- playing "music" on her ukulele and singing for dh, and she asked me to come outside, and that may have stirred it up again.

Harriet, IKWYM about the "something dragging you down" feeling. Unfortunately, I seem to have a lot of those days. Probably our crazy sleep schedule around here.
(((HUGS))) for the troublesome relative. I definitely understand the enjoyment of long phone conversations as opposed to face-to-face meetings.
In some ways, life was much easier during Covid...

Speaking of which! -- HARMONY -- how are things in your household??? (((BIG HUGS))) and continued prayers and good wishes for speedy recovery!

Also, I hope things are going smoothly with blessed and dh.

There's enough going on around here in our Tiny Town to drag anyone down. Fortunately no family matters or even anyone super-close to me, but lots of people in need of prayer around here. I'll fill y'all in -- J&C.

Just a note here as I'm sure everybody but me and Lucylee is in bed fast asleep. I'm not sharp enough to remember all that I thought while I read through; still have quite a bit of brain fog.

LadyM, don't get sick again. Once is enough. I hope whatever you have is short-lived.

I've had a bit of a relapse. Yesterday I guess cleaning up my bedroom, folding laundry, washing and changing sheets and making that casserole and cleaning up after that was too much. I got up and was ok for a couple hours...then just hit the wall again. All day felt worse and worse. Slept a few hours in my rocker, and made some leftovers and that was the extent of my day. I don't want any more set backs, they're annoying and discouraging.

I'm wondering what blessed's news was from her dr. And sure glad Kathryn's storm didn't hit their building.

See ya tomorrow.
