[Wrote this hours ago but didn't post.]

LadyM: Children can certainly be a challenge!

I'm home and working on my old laptop which has been kept as a backup. It is slow as molasses and I have to type in all my heavy duty passwords to get into things as I don't yet have the password manager on this computer, but at least I'm up and running.

I'm 98% unpacked and have the second load of laundry on, first is hung to dry. I also have to water the plants now before I forget. I was just trying to get the computer turned on and that took more than the 30 minutes I allowed for it as the computer had completely lost charge and so lost system date and other important info it needed before Windows would boot up. At least my external keyboard and mouse are working really well and my computer can drive the external monitor so aside from speed and access to passwords (and I'm sure dozens of programs), this feels normal.

Still struggling to install stuff. Not sure what is going on with installing Quicken. And, of course, once I do install it, I have to find the latest backup.

I just started load 4 of laundry. Loads 1 - 3 are hung up to dry. That's too much for my regular rack so things are spreading around the room and into my bathroom (shirts hanging from the shower curtain rod.)

We had leftover pizza for dinner. I was too productive to take time to leave home to go eat out. Plus it is very hot here.

Cathy: I saw your post last night about the northern lights but couldn't take the time to research when to go watch them. I did see the end of summer fireworks from across the lake so that was special. I would have preferred to see the Northern Lights.

I'm exhausted but almost 100% unpacked now. It will be little forgotten items at this point. And then, tomorrow, all the clothes. I have 3 items that need mending, 2 for me (including my no-longer-made Tilley safari blazer that I wear all the time because POCKETS) and a shirt for dh.

Ds (and his family) had a very successful camping trip with DC's father and his family. As someone said in the comments of the photos, "This is how co-parenting is supposed to work." Dgs2 adores DC's half sister who is just under a year older than him. So I loved the photos of the two of them playing together or him chasing after her. There's one shot where she looks just like DC (who is now 14), yet in dgs' baby pics he looked just like her baby pics except for hair colour.

OK, off to try and install quicken. Again.

Laptop Woes - I'm just throwing this information out there. I don't understand how it can be the cause but I am 100% sure it was the fix to my Lenovo laptops acting up. My keyboard was freezing up with certain keys stop working. My laptop would do all kinds of weirdo things and refuse to respond or even crash. What fixed all the laptop weird issues? I stopped using chrome browser. It was that simple.

I had two high end laptops that both messed up. I researched for hours to find the solution to both laptops going nuts. I tried all kinds of solutions without any relief. I saw someone post about the chrome browser and ignored it because it wasn't logical. But eventually I ran out of things to try so I switched to using edge browser. The laptop issues immediately stopped! I thought it was a coincidence so a few days later I decided to use chrome browser again and the laptop problems immediately returned. I learned how to make edge browser use google as search engine and the laptops have still remained problem free for weeks.

Dishes got put away yea!
I made some of my dinner.
Need to clean up after that.
Walked around the block again to get my step count up.
House is a bit stuffy I have fans on but not quite warm enough for a/c.
Started a load of clothes.
Did a mini pick up for items to bag up to toss.

It was a restful Sunday here but pretty unproductive. I went to the middle service today which means I was out of the house at 9:30. It was very nice and I was glad to be back.

Nap this afternoon. We sleep in our chairs like old people, the two of us. Wait, we are old people!

I finally got going and gathered the garbage. There's a bunch out there, with the canoe...and I had a bunch of extras. Tonight I looked at the bag with all the chargers and I think I threw away about a dozen. There's still a lot I've kept but each is different from the other. When I'm sure they're not needed for anything, I'll toss more. I threw away some things from one of the shelving units in the shop. Little by little it's getting done.

I watched a couple older movies. We were really lazy this afternoon.

LadyM, I hope DSon doesn't have any nerve damage from the injury. Twins, glad you are testing negative finally.

I guess that's all from here.

LadyM: which browser do you use now? Things got so slow I had to run task manager and Chrome is taking up 50% or more of the resources of the computer. So that isn't a bad idea for this 10 year old laptop.

As for my dead laptop.... that would be for the ON SITE warranty service but they are closed until Tuesday so I'm pulling my hair out.

I did, after several hours, manage to buy a new computer (honestly, at this point throwing money at the problem is my best bet.) I will return it if Lenovo actually honours their NEXT DAY ON SITE service I paid for. I refused to buy the warranty for the new computer because I'm so pissed with them not honouring the warranty I bought on the previous computer.

I still need to go looking for the box they shipped to me and for something Amazon should have shipped to arrive on Friday. I'll go downstairs after having my bedtime bowl of cereal.

I am not in a good mood.

Edit: I'm in a worse mood, the Amazon subscription isn't going to ship until September 30 and I need it before then. So I had to cancel the subscription and order again. It will be here on Tuesday. I ordered nail strengthener at the same time since I tried to buy that in stores and had no luck. My nails are a wreck. I'm blaming dgs2 because I have to hand wash so often. I'm making progress by putting hand lotion on 5 - 10 times a day since apparently moisturizing is the main cure for this.

This is online service, blessed, at a more distant church where I've only attended a few times. They have had this woman pastor now since well before Covid. They had had dual membership in Southern Baptist and Cooperative Baptist denominations until recently, but I'm sure since the recent votes at SB conference they have lost the SB because the word "pastor" is part of the title of three women there. My in-person membership church denomination no longer allows women to approach a pulpit unless they're using a dust cloth.

((LadyM household))

Dstepdil gave me a cut-foliage bouquet of her overgrown herbs and not only is it aromatic, it looks pretty, too. HRH says it has to remain in the LR because any closer to his office and he feels like he can't breathe!

Dstepson changed out a difficult lightbulb for us.

Dd42 visited for a while, too. We picked up sticks in the yard. She heard from my late dh's sister, dfirstsisil, and finally she is letting go of the curio cabinet that was specifically left to dd42 long ago by her grandmother, who told everybody this, plus wrote dd42's name on the inside of the curio and showed that to everybody before she died, too! Only getting it now because dfirstsisil is moving to a smaller place and won't have room.

I ended up putting off my shower until late, partly because company stayed until nearly dark, and we hadn't yet had supper. S2Sed now, though, and feel so much better.
