Harriet: I spent 20 minutes trying to figure out how to just move Dove's post but wasn't confident I wouldn't lose all of today's posts so left it alone. When I tried to merge, I was pretty sure I'd get the results you got but couldn't see a way of doing it 'backwards.' So I thought I was being clever just moving one post, then got freaked out by un-intuitive process.
I was making great progress (and have entered chits for April through to September for one card) but got taken away by a phone call from the front door. A wandering resident needed help and so the rescuer called for me (this is a pattern, Kathryn will take care of things.) Obviously it isn't my job/responsibility/business but I went down because I'd already 'rescued' her on Wednesday.
I have her niece's number so texted an update. Since Wednesday, the last time I texted, they have found her a place in a retirement home so it will only be a few more weeks until she gets the company she is wandering around, searching for. Today she was lucid enough to eloquently describe to me her loneliness but she couldn't remember her niece has shown her pictures of her new home!
I'm on a short break while I switch to updating different accounts. All this has to be done so I can send in the receipts for repayment from the residents' association and that's due tomorrow afternoon.
Somber Saturday

Re: 2 for 1 Saturday
I've had lunch the brownies are great I cut these smaller like brownie bites.
sigh found another planner batch to sort one needed attn. the rest had already been purges phew that was a relief.
Walked to the corner with the ddog I needed to stretch and it worked out great for her to have a potty break after her nap.
I am watching writer's note book vids. ahead of my writing stuff.
Got a couple of pages copied with ink as I'd been using pencil before and pen lasts better.
I am airing out a sweater it is dry but fresh air hopefully will help the fabric softener / dryer sheet fragrance to ease up.
I'm working on putting a chapter of notes in my next booklet from the workbook.
Glad for progress got the biggest parts in it now yea! Plus I'm over the half way point now that feels great.
I am watching writers notebook setups and then do some writing or paper taming in rounds.
Got the notes done on the work book chapter yea!

Re: Somber Saturday
HRH has been glued to news today. Perhaps because he has, I've felt I could do other things.
Also, can't get ds off my mind, of course.
Dd43 and dstepson, with families, came yesterday afternoon and did the yard work ds would normally have done, mowing and weed-eating. I worked "with" all outside, continuing to work on weeds.
Today that same crew all went to the zoo, and HRH and I have been in charge of the granddog, back and forth. They sent lots of photos of giraffes and parrots, etc. They are home safe now.
I've managed two laundry loads, probably because they don't take brain power. Otherwise, I have been spacey.
Dd25 and the young man may come or may not. They don't realize that it bothers me more not to know than for them to just come on by. I have this feeling all day long that the next shoe is going to drop, can't start projects. They would be a shoe, granddog has been a shoe, being on edge in case I'm needed at ds' house is a shoe. They're all just teetering there, shoethreats.
I know the young man's concerns this weekend. Dd is leaving Monday for her long trip. He is trying to decide whether he wants to purchase a house in advance of their marriage and "fix it up" for them. He really wants out of his parents' house, I think. He's taking her to see several houses today. He is very systematic, very careful, and I'm just not sure he's going to take this step if it doesn't seem super smart financially. He needs her to not just give "permission" but possibly to push for it. But as soon as he makes the decision, I'm sure he'll second-guess himself. One of the houses is between their workplaces and one nearer here/his parents.
While sitting here, I got an update for J and C so will make that.

Re: Somber Saturday
Thanks to those who fixed our posts this morning.
The news today sure takes the wind out of our sails, doesn't it? I haven't liked much in the news for a long while but today was worse.
Glad to read Harriet's family rallies around to keep things going. Such fun, that your DD might be getting into her own place after the wedding. I'm sure they will make a good decision.
I honestly don't know what I did today. Let the time get away from me I guess. I did sort the mail, a big stack today; I did 1 LOL and hung it outside. Did 1 day of our study. Cooked a nice supper with a baked acorn squash and roasted potato steak fries. Carved up the rotisserie chicken.
DH had gone to the store to pick up the unhealthy stuff I didn't want here. I'm trying to ignore it all. He ran into the family next door, both the husband and wife and all their kids (4? little ones) and one spoke up, "look there's ___DH___!" So he talked to them for a few minutes and knew that he knew these people but couldn't remember who they were. He didn't remember who they were until he was done shopping and back out to the car.
Ok, need to get going here. It's an early morning as my friend wants picked up tomorrow. I probably would have stayed home if she hadn't wanted to go. I don't like going out in the heat right now.
Y'all have a nice night.

Re: Somber Saturday
Harmony, I hope the new ideas help your skin, and am so sorry you are miserable sometimes. Dermatologists, especially women dermatologists I'd think, would probably have carefully planned gown usage ( smile ) for at least some back-and-forth modesty, and a very good "manner" with their patients. Get info, keep trying.
It does look like there has been progress toward the right purchase for the young man (and dd25). They saw several (5?) potential places and one stands out. So, we'll see. They had gone in his truck, but I think his realtor drove most of the long day. Still, I'm sure they did a lot of walking and it was very social. After dropping her back off here and showing just a few photos, he was ready to leave for home to have time to talk to his folks tonight. His father wants to go right back out with him tomorrow to look at a couple "finalists" and sort of kick the tires.
