oh my goodness - my mother drama. Mom tells brother she wants to stay here and tells me she is upset that he wants her to stay here and she wants to go back to Florida. She tells him one thing and us another especially when she wakes up first thing in the morning.I tell him to talk to dd younger and he says that I am not giving myself enough credit and I am the daughter. He assumes I don't see what's happening with mom but I have taken care of 3 family members with dementia and Alzheimer's.
the very good: dd knows every part of d mom's responses and feelings. She has that gift of understanding people and seeing their patterns. dd has a way of getting mom to do things and stay positive. I wish my brother would talk to dd about mom.
I have to admit after a day with mom yesterday that I had to lay my head on the table and breath in.

Mom's first week was super kind and confused in the am. Now she has gone back to her normal self with me.

it will change again!
Okay - what can I do - there is nothing I can do about it! look at the good! and just enjoy the moment - she is getting older and I want this time!
I can be positive and go with the flow. That's the game plan.
I had the nicest surprise from one of my d brother in laws this morning - he made the best apple butter that I have ever had (and I have had a lot over the years!). He made them from his tree in the back yard and canned them! He lives an hour away and dropped it off this morning! I am so proud of him and I am so touched!!!
dd younger cleaned the family room - put the rhomba washer on
dh put the dishes in the dw.
dd younger cleaned the counters
I know I did stuff but I can't tell you exactly what I did
dd younger is working on the bathroom upstairs and playing with the animals.
today: picking up mom to get her new shoes (with dd younger).
hopefully d mom will let us get her nails done. dd hopefully will talk her into it.
see you soon.
today: decorate for Halloween
home blessing.
I have chicken stock cooking again and I have bones for beef stock for tomorrow.
girls have promised to help me this weekend with the garden before the freeze.
card file in front of me: time to start!
Sunday: make soup day.

Happy Anniversary RR & Sweetie!
It took 5 hours to get everything done but I am finally back home.
** DS15 to his driving school
** To the city for my abdominal ultrasound
** Home Dep*t to get sprayers for septic system
** Filled vehicle up with gas ($2.84 gallon)
** Sam's for my flu shot, ordered a couple of hot pizzas from deli to bring home and bought a couple hundred $$ of pantry restock items.
The abdominal ultrasound only took 30 minutes from the time I parked the vehicle in the parking lot until I was back in the vehicle. Easy Peasy even with their new method of having multiple check-in locations. Now to enter the hospital you must show ID, have your picture taken and a sticky paper ID printed to put on your shirt. Then they send you to another office to verify you have a valid appointment. Then I was sent to another office to show ID and they scan insurance cards. FINALLY, they sent me to the waiting room to sit until they called my name for ultrasound. Even with their requirement to visit all those various places to enter the building and be checked in, it was quick and easy so I will admit there is a method to the madness.

The luncheon today was just lovely but I am so peopled out and we're expecting company this p.m. in 30 minutes.

Dh is hoping to build a fire out side tonight but I'm quietly rooting for the rain and an early bedtime. I did go on to the library this afternoon and spend a couple of hours there instead of rushing home to prep for Shabbat dinner. I feel bad that I'm not making much effort to entertain but that's how it is sometimes? I forgot to stop at grocery on my way home, and then dh was going back and and he went but forgot fruit, which could have been dessert. Frankly, it's usually a waste to have dessert but it's nice to have something to offer.
I am t.i.r.e.d tho. I just passed 8K steps for today and still going.

Not for the squeamish...
I called my doctor's office tonight just after 5 because I am still in pain. I have a "walk in" appointment with my doctor tomorrow morning at 8. First come, first served. The receptionist recognized my voice when I called. Of course, they most likely have call display as well, but she remembered why I had been in the office earlier this week. She also recommended going to the pharmacy across from their office and ask for something to put on the burn to help keep it dry. I told her that other than staying with an uncovered breast, I can't keep it "dry". The scab keeps melting off, is the best way I can describe it. It's been throbbing all day today.

(Cathy) wish you weren't having so much trouble getting healed.
My rash was making progress, then I had to go out today and had to wear more underclothes than I have been. And it was 95° outside and going in and out to bring the groceries in, carrying them with 1 hand because I was using the telephone with the other one, I got all sweaty. Cleaning up and getting cooler and looser clothes on, I noticed I'd gone back a bit with the rash healing. I think I am allergic to my own sweat!
(Blessed) it's a lot to take care of other people who aren't quite right. Recently I have begun to think about it and ask myself whether I can really do this. It sure takes a lot of effort. I know you are trying hard to keep all your plates spinning and everybody happy.
RRose, happy anniversary! I hope you didn't have to walk through puddles.
We had a brunch today at our study, each of our classes. What we put together for each other was just perfect and just enough. I really enjoyed it and I discovered that I did better at the supermarket than I usually did because I don't eat breakfast before I go out Fridays. I didn't get so tired. Something to think about.
DH was napping when I got home so I had to unload everything without help. Somehow I managed. He said I should have called him, but I thought if he was sleeping, he must be really tired and I didn't bother him. Aren't I the good wife?!
Ok, kitchen cleaned up (was very grateful for enough leftovers to make meals for us tonight). We had a nice rain late last evening. Tomorrow is an eclipse of some sort and we're not supposed to look at it without special glasses. Anybody going to watch?

A very Happy Anniversary!!! Hoping it has been nice for you two!
And extremely gentle hug to Cathy for this unfair pain.
Harmony, if heat makes it worse maybe that is a clue for doctors.
HRH cousin's dd and 17-year-old grandson came by. Nice short visit.
Then I took dd43 out to get takeout for the boys.
Her assistant had thrilling news that her husband seems in remission from lung cancer. New scan shows such a small dot they will have to get special equipment to biopsy one so small.
Back home I did extra laundry.
Enjoyed more sewing. Took flower photos before rain comes tomorrow.
