Cathy, the seasoning sounds very good and I'm with you on removing the cloves. With too much caramelized onion still in my mouth from supper so that I'm making faces ( :P ), I'd hope the garlic was minimal! lol Garlic is the one thing that, although ever so healthy, can make me sad to put too much!

We are relieved because dd25 just texted that she has landed at the airport! She'll be here in about an hour, or hour and a half. The young man still hasn't gotten to the airport to pick her up and she's early, so actually that's a lot better than it might have been. He may be able to come in and speak to us a bit, but really needs to hurry because he has work in the morning, of course. We appreciate him so much for doing this - I had difficulty in broad daylight! She'll have lots of wedding stories and excitement to tell - I still don't know how the saga of the maid-of-honor dress turned out and whether she needed alterations at the 11th hour, so we'll have an interesting evening.

I've been sending her photos of my sewing and getting her opinions. (practice stuff but not throw-away. I want to be able to use it in other projects).

She sent us a silly selfie wearing the souvenir ballcap she bought the young man.

She was so in charge of the wedding, with 200 guests yesterday, that there was no one left to take her to airport this afternoon after tying up all loose ends, so she got some kind of public transportation (bus/shuttle). But she says that means she did everything she promised her friend, so she's doubly relieved.

Tomorrow morning, I pick dgdC up for school at 7:15, and do so the next day as well. She and her booster seat will be waiting for me on the front steps! (Her mom is on her early-days schedule in her office this week and can monitor but not leave meetings/calls.)

I'm happy we made it to page 2.

No hint of garlic in the soup at all, much to my dismay. My hands smelled for a little while, even after I washed them with soap and cold water. (Hint from Julia Child) but the smell was gone in less than an hour.

I felt there was too much pepper, dh thought it was enough for him to barely notice.

Dishwasher got emptied a second time and now the 2 large bowls are in there waiting.

I'm up way past my bedtime.

Home from long outing with dh, ds, and dgrands.
Almost a “progressive dinner” kind of thing. Supper at Krystal, ice cream from DQ, and then a stop at Krispy Kreme for report card donuts. Dgs got his Thursday, but Dgd didn’t make that trip, so tonight was all about her, another half-dozen. THEN a fourth stop for ddil’s supper, which we dropped off at the hospital.

I am exhausted. My heart is full, but I have been responsible for a child every moment since about 4:30 Friday afternoon.

Harriet, I am looking forward to hearing all about the wedding and anything you can add to J&C from the other day!

Most of my laundry is done and all my “Sunday tasks” except refilling meds. I do still have to hang items to dry.
And I intend to exercise. My watch is only registering 4000 steps, but I spent an HOUR in Wmart today! Dgd wanted to “ride” so I pushed the cart a lot.

Tomorrow is
— ironing
— church meeting
— finish laundry
— MAYBE — begin WHB vacuuming.
