4th Hour of my day -
** Chopped carmen peppers and roasted them. This is the first time I've tried roasting small pieces of peppers. I have always just roasted whole or sliced peppers.
** DH and DS15 to the bank to get cash. Paid mechanic and brought pickup home
** another 5 gallon bucket of pine shavings spread in raised bed. Only about a 1000 more times to do this.
** Moved rabbit cages to fresh grass. Harvest sweet potato vines and fed to the rabbits.
** 4th of 14 hourly steps accomplished.
** mentoring DD12 as she is making corn bread
Reward - tall glass of tea with fresh peppermint added. So refreshing.

5th hour of my day -
** Mentored DD12 as she made Cheesy Jalapeno cornbread. DD12 made plain cornbread last hour which was the kind DH requested.
** Fire pit cleaned out and ashes spread on top of the pine shavings. One half of one raised bed is done. That means I have finished 0.04 of this project. Another way to look at it is that I only have 99.6% more to do. Kinda depressing to look at it that way. It is a good thing that I enjoy doing this process.
** 5th of 14 hourly steps accomplished.
** Encouraged DH to eat protein with his cornbread. DS15 and I are noticing when DH just eats just carbs then he doesn't think as clearly. DH added a couple chicken tenderloins to his cornbread meal.
** Teamed up with DS15 to do two weeks of his time log for his work.
** Chopped the VERY LAST of the Carmen peppers. They are roasting now.
Reward - Enjoyed eating the crusty parts of hot cornbread.

6th Hour of my day -
** Watering the garden.
** Harvest okra. I love raw okra so most of it was eaten while I was still in the garden and before I reached the kitchen.
** 6th of 14 hourly steps accomplished.
** Packaged roasted carmen peppers and put into the freezer. I predict my future self is going to love having those this winter.
** Plated the Cheesy jalapeno cornbread. It is a high moisture batter with all the additions, so it took longer to bake.
** Take DS15 to his girlfriends home. He is going with her to a family celebration.
Reward - not sure yet. Maybe it will be the 15 minutes of being alone that I will have in the vehicle after I drop DS15 off.

LadyM, you really should try that cowboy casserole with the topping of cornbread. It is really good and filling. The cornbread is thick enough that it does not seep through the meat mixture underneath, it just bakes on top. I just sat and copied the recipe onto one of my recipe cards for my card box. It is something I'll definitely make again. A 9x13 pan of that last us something like 4 days. I would definitely put some optional tomatoes and/or tomato sauce in the meat mix so it doesn't get dry. I did leave out the corn as that didn't appeal to me.

I've been working away, but took a long break. Started answering a letter to DCousin. I got 2nd LOL hung outside.

Blessed, for living in a big city, you sure were an outside girl! The few times I went back to a city for something, I felt a pang of something akin to homesickness. But for everyday living, the suburbs are easiest, and we can have space around us for gardens etc. And as kids, we were not afraid to go to the city either and we enjoyed it. My DGFriend and I took a bus into the city and had lunch at a Woolworth's lunch counter. I still remember how we sat in a booth and had turkey and stuffing! I also remember going with a girlfriend into a big department store, into their tik tok lounge restaurant and we ordered a big banana split and sat there and ate it together.

Harriet, I'm sure you loved the puppies and they loved you. I didn't know they were so shy. My girlfriend had a Beagle, his name was Harry, and he was the neighborhood gad-about!

Last load is in the dryer now.
I washed that sweater again to get the vinegar odor out and it is even better now yea!
Had some lunch.
I have 3/4ths of my steps in and only half done with my day steps to the basement doing laundry really helped!
I tried to see the moon it looks misty out and not that great of a view. No stars visabile.

I rode buses downtown with my gf all the time and went to the movies that way. Wore hats and gloves to church and a beenie on my head because I sang in the church choir from 3-12 grade. My gf and I would ride our bikes 30-40 miles every Saturday.. we had a circuit we rode.. with my transistor radio strapped
To my handle bar. I brought a balcony and mustard sandwich with me for lunch and two dimes in my loafers. One to buy a bottle of Coke and one for an emergency call. We left our houses at 9:00 am and didn’t get home til 4:00 that afternoon.

I was only one of 4 girls who surfed in my area for over four years and in my freshman year of college to weight training and could bench press more than any other girl there

I am waiting to finish getting prepped for the wedding so I don't get dirty from dogs. lol.

I’m another one who probably has told everything already. I might not have told y’all this though —
When I was little I was a huge tomboy. I always wanted to be doing whatever the boys were doing. When I was around 10 years old, I wanted to be a football player. I was a big Alabama fan and I wrote Bear Bryant a letter asking if girls would ever be allowed to play college football. !
Can y’all believe he never wrote back???
Anyway, I never actually played ANYTHING on ANY team. It became pretty apparent that athletics is NOT my gift. I turned in to a big sissy and now when dh says , “I thought you were a football fan when I married you,” I just say, “I thought I was too!” LOL. He’s kinda got me burned out.

I'm enjoying reading the stories being shared.

7th hour of my day -
** Delivered DS15 to his girlfriend home (20 mile round trip)
** Stopped by church and had the youth wash suv (fundraiser)
** While they were washing the vehicle I went inside & prepared the 9 communion trays for tomorrow.
** 7th of 14 hourly step goal achieved.
Reward - Shiny vehicle and supporting a good group of youth

8th & 9th hours of my day -
** Monitored DD12 to accomplish her daily walking goal as well as wash her hair & take a shower.
** 8th & 9th of 14 hourly step goals made.
** Went to Fall Festival which is held on main street in our small town. They block off the road and line the street with vendors. There are many activities and live local performers. It was fun to talk to several friends and support local businesses. #SmallTownLife

We are meeting family at a restaurant in the city to celebrate birthday. Going to the city at night isn't my favorite thing to do but I do love to celebrate life moments.

Tonight did not go so well… football-wise, I mean. Now we’re on the bus to the handicapped parking lot, and dh is at the front, aggravated, bc Dgd and I moved ahead ti the back. He was waiting for them to put down the wheelchair seats, but I felt like we were holding up the line.
Dgd had fun sitting with dniece.
