Back from My Free Day Fri. activites!
I need to de seed the squash and cut it to cook & then I can look over the new to me books one
is a hard back edition of birds & blooms, one with some writing exercise in at the back of chapters.
A Bible with pages to use for my Bible study.
Squash is baking now. PHew that was a job!
Got my stuff all in that I got today except the wreath I am going to spiff up and hang in front of the house.
I have gotten the pumpkin cooked and the peels are off it's cooling more to flash freeze.

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
hello - mom is busy sweeping - we had a nice lunch and mom is starting to share stories about her life that I am videoing for my cousins.
my mother is a clean person and I have not had to time to work at my house and it is feeling the pressure of 3 dogs, a cat, me of course and multiple people coming in and out! I can see her mind going to work which is wonderful.
My mind needs simplification. Now to fold some laundry. and flip flop laundry
I turned the dw on
waving at you d Nancy!
I have chicken to use up as I defrosted it. but I just don't feel like meat but veggies. I think I will put on farro mushroom soup.

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
Trip out took longer than expected. I stopped at a bakery and got three loaves of their seasonal breads to slice for tomorrow's "Waterside Meal with Riparian Entertainment." Then I washed car and received a text about a prescription that had snuck up on me. Long story, but I stormed into CVS because the text said I couldn't fill until January. Anyway, that was all straightened out and I waited for meds so that's done too.
It's nearly time to go upstairs for webinar and to work on Q article, perhaps simultaneously? Not sure I can focus on both but I'll try for it. The webinar is recorded so I can watch another time, trouble is, I have a backlog of webinars to watch, lol.
So this has been sitting here all day. I've been upstairs, worked on Q article and half-listened to webinar.
Dh is in a mood tonight, which has me feeling angry. He shoots off, then he's sorry, but I'm still feeling angry/frustrated. Maybe common to many of us. As far as he's concerned it's over and done, while I have steam coming out my ears from the injustice of it all. LOL.

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
I am t...i...r.....e...d!!!
mom washed one of my walls - the bottom half - if I could get up and down like her that would be wonderful! 86 and can easily get up and down on the floor, on a ladder etc.
She also helped sweep, separate laundry, fold laundry and do some dishes.
dd younger cleaned the family room well (I do the family room every Friday and she took over this job!)
I was busy all day - things put away, powder room done, laundry washing, dw emptied and refilled and needs to be emptied.
swiped windows, dusted. lots of laundry put away after washing.
I ordered in. I had planned on making dinner but we worked hard today. no outside work
sent cousins a lot of information on family history.
found out one cousin had a stroke last night and is in intensive care. she seems to be able to text easily but I don't know how she is doing.

Though, My Dh doesn't realize he is going down the wrong road until much much later (until he has a chance to clear himself of all the adrenaline in his brain and I won't go down the road with him
). He finally gets over it and then I have to tell him why I am still upset
glad you worked on the article and had a chance to hear the webinar! Glad you figured out the meds.
have fun tomorrow d twins!
d harriet - I hope tonight you have the most lovely night sleep!!!!
hope your family has fun at the Truck or treat and the hayride

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
I typed "truck" or treat, but it is a regular "trunk" or treat.
Twins', yes. Know it, have seen it, wish to goodness I could get a video of it:
HRH and I had one of the longest-lasting spats of our marriage starting 4 or so days back, because of pretty much what you said, and yes, lasting overnight. We had to pop out of it because of that family company of his who came by surprise, with the little kid needing entertaining. We had to act as though we were fine, so we became fine. He sent me a bunch of nice texts, and also, we benefitted from being on the same side of irritation that someone would just show up and expect child care while also being hosted. Since we had both been miserable, we were both glad to be finished with it.
Well, this evening about dusk, dstepson misunderstood something that his Dad needed because he hadn't been listening, even to me. So, there was a comedy of errors. Dstepson was angry with the situation, stalked off, mad. I think he was madder at the world when he realized it wasn't his Dad's fault, lol. So, HRH got a taste of what it's like to have someone get unreasonably angry. He said, "you can't even talk to him, he won't listen. He's so sure he's right and he can't handle hearing that he's wrong." Then HRH must have heard something in what he himself was saying that sounded familiar.
He looked at me and said, "I don't know WHERE he gets that - he's YOUR son."
Anyway, I found that remarkably satisfying and thought I'd tell you!
I made the scary
fabric cuts and nothing terrible happened, so yay. 32 cuts, actually. One set didn't look very pretty because of how the fabric design fell, so I unstitched and made it over again, but I was gentle with it, and it was fine. I got it all onto the design board and got a photo, labeled pieces, so even if we have an earthquake, flood, robbery and tornado at the same time, as long as I can find them all I can put them back the right way.
Dd43 has had a terrible day - when they got to the driver's license bureau all electric power was out in a four-block area. After all that driving to get to the distant location that gives tests, they had to go back in the afternoon and do it all over again, but they got it done.

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
Blessed, it is sooo wonderful that your dh is making such good progress! And also -- I was happy to hear that your dmom had "rediscovered" her interest in painting.
YES -- Harriet -- it IS a little shocking that Wonderboy is getting a driver's permit. My goodness. And btw -- I do hope you were able to get your rx this time.
Twins, dh here is definitely in a mood... and I don't blame him... but it is REALLY hard for me to keep being Little Miss Sunshine when he is carrying around this cloud of doom all the time...
I'm waving to ALL and just popping in because who knows what dh is going to be calling for in the next minute or two.
The reason he is upset at the moment is because ds, who was planning to take dgs to Vanderbilt to football game next Saturday, JUST called and said they are booked to be playing (music) somewhere that day. Band leader said people just called him to confirm, apparently it had been booked a year ago, but with no contact from these people, band leader had forgotten about it. So now... (1) dh is disappointed that ds and dgs don't get their father-son day (which ds was totally unaware of to begin with. DS thought dh was accompanying them the whole time, says he didn't realize we only have two tickets) and (2) now this means either I will take dgs alone
or dh will accompany us and listen to the game in the car -- because dh is afraid to try steps, non-aisle seats, etc.
DGS is sooo looking forward to this. I told dh I would just take him on my own; I've driven that far to take dmom to foot doctor; I can do it again. Sigh.
DH is just sooo beyond being able to handle anything else that is annoying and troublesome.
This comes after sooo many things this past week or so:
* condo still a mess after a month, and no end in sight
* Tahoe in the shop, told us today to call next Wednesday
* Dmom's truck has been in the shop, now fixed at cost of $480, might have to drive it to Nashville
* AT&T bill lost in mail
* internet running slower than molasses
* dgs having to get x-ray
* dgd psoriasis, changes in med
Just lots and lots of stuff hanging on our minds, worrisome, aggravating c*r*a*p that takes money, time, and patience. DH is in short supply of all three, to be honest.

Re: Friday Focus to Finish PWYC
Wow, blessed, that's great your DMom is able to do that stuff.
Harriet, I will see how to condense all that toothpaste info and post in H&F.
I did exactly what I planned to do today...nothing much. I had that long day out of chores yesterday so I wouldn't have to do them after my study today. I was happy to come straight home and take a nap.
Dinner was leftovers, easy to heat up the chicken and the potatoes and the broccoli and it was a great dinner with little work. I am running the dishwasher as it was getting full from the past several days and I am needing clean silverware. If I hand wash the big items that come along, big pots or bowls, I only have to run it a couple times a week.
I have a lot of paperwork to tackle tomorrow (too tired tonight to do it) and calendar stuff and some bills...but tomorrow I will put that first on my schedule. DH and I did go over the calendar... he won't remember anything but tomorrow, but that is ok, I can remind him daily what he has to do the next day. Except for church we are free till next Monday.
Lucylee, it's really hard when things pile up on us like that. One thing at a time we can manage and feel good that we've accomplished the impossible problem / task...but all this stuff at once, yikes. Overwhelming. For sure. You really do a good job keeping all those plates spinning, but we do recognize how hard it all is for you.
Hope Twins has a lovely time at her riparian entertainment! The only ones that had fun at that was the dreaded low-class family!
