yay - dd's will take dear mom to dinner - no cooking! yahoo not because I woke up so so late.

Nancy, we're getting there! We have a new lightbulb for our wellhouse, and the leaves cleaned off from the gutter guards. We do still need to seal the brick of the chimney and at least the materials have arrived for that. We've talked to shed people of various types, both movers and builders.

Harmony, my goodness thank you so much for wisdom in H and F.

Twins', that is a great report on the fun day for boaters and viewers.

Show and tell :

I have lots of leaves fallen here, but none are really RED and today while out FINALLY getting that script, I saw lovely RED maples waving from an empty parking lot. So, I pulled in and gathered - very pleased. Couldn't even get out of the car door without seeing perfect ones on the asphalt. Now I just need to go gather some of our own very YELLOW paw-paws and I'll be on my way to a cute, decorated headband.

Neatened my sewing room today at this stopping place between parts. I have found that my poorer eyesight requires that I resist the chaos I used to work in so efficiently. I could once see things no matter how small a bit was visible and when fabric or other art became cluttered around, it was still fine, I quickly worked right through. Now, I'll lose scissors, seam ripper, even the very patches I feel as though I was JUST using. Oh well, baggies are used to save various same-size pieces of fabric now, and that can't be bad. They'll be together when I suddenly brainstorm a use.

Dd25 and the young man were back early, shaking their heads. None of the houses they were shown today made sense to them at all. The young man showed HRH a few of his own photos he took while inside one - he thinks the listing photos were photo-shopped to hide problems. Oh, well. I told them that now they will be "due" a good day next time.

All the hay-riders are off to the event.

I continue to have success using 3x5" cards. I keep expecting them to stop being successful but day after day they are working well. I typically start the day with 15-20 cards and usually finish everything. I put the most important at the top and work my way down the group of cards. I'm okay when the end of day arrives and there are still cards to do because I know that I've done the highest priority.

I absolutely love the kids using cards. Now I don't need to check or remind them to do their things. It is easy to see if their neon-colored cards are still waiting for them. They set their own priority or ways to get their cards done so it puts the responsibility onto them instead of me being the Get Your Stuff done person.

DH has been working 2 days on trying to get the gun safe open. The safe is located in the shop so I didn't realize he was working on it until he reached frustration point today and asked if I had warranty papers on the safe. When I asked why he wanted the papers he told me he couldn't get the safe open. Years ago, I had DH show me how to open the safe and wrote very detailed instructions for myself in case something happened to DH. I never have reason to open the safe myself but am thrilled that I had the instructions in OneNote. I printed those instructions off and handed them to DH. I'm not sure what he was doing differently for the past 2 days but when he used my detailed instructions, he got the safe open.

I'm confessing to being weird, selfish, and possessive about my garden space. I don't want other people in it. I have friends & family who offer to come harvest and work in my garden but the thought of letting other people do that freaks me out. When friends/family are visiting our home and ask about my garden I take them to a window to look at it.....but I don't take them into my garden. My garden is my special space. It is where I go to get away and it refreshes me to be in it. It isn't unusual for me to go to the garden 6-12 times a day for 5-10 minutes at a time. Sometimes I lose track of time and stay longer. DH and the kids come into the garden to talk to me when I am out there but after they finish talking then they leave. DD12 walks in the garden daily but she is just using the concrete walkway for an easy place to get her walking minutes done. Most of the garden is surrounded by 12' solid fence. The gates are opened from the garden side and were designed to not have ability to open gates from outside the garden (although DS15 has figured out a way but it isn't easy and takes some finagling). I don't let the dogs into the garden but do have the 3 rabbits there. They are quiet and make good companions.

I have went to a yd. sale mostly guy stuff a few trims for sewing or whatever was priced right but I was not in the mood I guess.
Rubber stamps but I like the ones with clear blocks so you can tell if they are lined up or not.
Talked with my dsis and got the bread wrapped up and froze up. I cut one loaf in half and froze some the rest I will use.
Moved a thing I am doing next week diff. time slot to keep my Nov free for that list of projects.

I finally got back to doing cross stitching today. It was actually embroidery on a cross stitch piece, but I HAD A NEEDLE IN MY HAND!!

I thought I would never get back to stitching. It's been 10 months since I last sat and stitched. I am "happy, happy, happy".

Dh is watching a CFL game with the Toronto Argonauts VS. Ottawa Red Blacks. (?)

turned out that no one really wanted to go to dinner - wellllllll - they went to get dd's meds but it cost $800 without the insurance. our local pharmacy said no on her Florida insurance - we shall see -

I made a "we had this before dinner" and with new things bc they were saying they didn't want to go out to eat. They went to get dd's meds and ran into a problem and now - I have been waiting for them - dd's and mom went out to eat I think
well they will be eating left overs from tonight for the next couple days

even dh only took some garlic bread and everything are things he likes. geesh. WELL - "I HAVE A NICE DINNER"
