Re: Mop Up Monday
Hi!
LOL @ Kathryn. I know how to spell it and how to say it. I have gotten into the habit of calling it that because someone at one of my knitting groups gets into such a tizzy trying to say it and messing it up so badly, I suggested that she just call it "Lea and Perrins" because that's part of the label.
I was up early and I've been to one knitting group. Now I've had lunch, so it's time to go to the afternoon group. I have gotten to the point on one of my cross stitch kits that requires beads to be added as part of the design. It's much easier to do it at a group where we sit at a table and the lighting is really good. I did that on Friday and got 25% of the beads done. Today I hope to get more done, although I'm not planning on another 25%. It's easy to know that it was 25% on Friday because the design is 4 corners that reach towards the corner beside it. I really don't like doing beadwork, but it's part of the design and I just want to finish this thing...
Supper will be ribs, which dh will be cooking.

Re: Mop Up Monday
Body work, then checked HOA post office, then grocery store. Groceries unloaded and perishables put away. Found more tap in the that I need to remove! I got myself a salad at Publix and, as I usually do, added spinach to it. Otherwise it's just iceberg lettuce - the darker greens are healthier.
So I need to get tape out of refrigerator so I can put fruit away, put away non perishables, and straighten the kitchen. Then I can go upstairs.

Re: Mop Up Monday
LadyM: another advantage to physical cards is that everyone can see them, you can hand them out when you need help, and, in theory, the family can hold you accountable by keeping an eye on the size of the stack of cards. You all may recall when we renovated the house, dh put in a counter area for me to lay out my cards since, for me, out of sight = out of mind.
I'm at the library with dh. I did get my minimum Monday chores done and am working well on the laundry, one in the dryer when we left and one ready to be put on when we get home. I also got the front hall closet switched and dh thanked me when we went to go since he found his heavier jacket in the cupboard along with a scarf he had forgotten he had.
I've been working on the bullet journal updates here. Not quite finished but making progress. Will have to do some printing when I get home. At the very least, there's a checklist.

Re: Mop Up Monday
Well I just got up from a 2 hour nap. However it was because I tried to up my new meds and of course I just crashed.
I woke up yesterday with a thundering headache, not a migraine. My entire head was thumping. Took my BP meds and it was up a bit and then took my 1/2 pill to see how it would effect my headache. It cleared it up so I decided to try taking another 1/2 pill last night in hopes that it would help with the shadows I've been getting in the mornings. Can't tolerated a whole pill I guess. So I didn't take the 1/2 pill I've been taking in the morning and still crashed.
My friend who has taken this med before says that it takes a while to adjust to it, but good glory, I must be really sensitive to it. So tonight I'm just gonna take another 1/2 pill and see how it effects me in the morning and hope I don't crash again.
I love the clock change and getting up is much easier when the sun is out. But then again my body clock works along with the sun. When its up, so am I and when it goes down, I'm usually done for the day. Always been that way. Remember AZ does not follow daylight savings time.
Mr. Guy called Sweetie over the weekend and apologized for not connecting with him for the past month. Norma has had some serious health issues and has been in and out of the hospital and rehab. I can't get much specific information from Sweetie cause he doesn't always remember what Mr. Guy tells him, but I do know Norma does have heart problems. She went back into the hospital on Friday because she was talking nonsense, but all results came back clear and she was back to her normal self the next day. She came home from the hospital yesterday. When I know more I will let y'all know.

Re: Mop Up Monday
Sometimes I can only conclude that it drives dh crazy for me to have time to myself. Two phone calls this afternoon to break my focus - why is he so worried about whether or not I clean out the old refrigerator that resides in the DR and whether his coworker picks it up tonight? Just tell me what the plan is.
So coworker is coming tonight with his ds to get the refrigerator, so I need to finish emptying it, and preferably, wipe it out a bit. I'm also starting supper, since dh suggested they would come around seven.
-feed the ddog
-pour myself a glass of wine
-get sweet potato ready to bake and start oven?
-get the few things out of old refrigerator
-wipe out old refrigerator
Not necessarily in that order.

Re: Mop Up Monday
hello d twins sending you a wonderful night
dinner is being eaten by mom and dd younger and dh. when I cook I don't like eating - mmmm maybe it will happy me loose weight
The nice part of this dinner is that I made the Chimichurri in summer.
I made raspberry sauce earlier today - I am trying to see if it freezes well in little jars for Christmas Gifts - ice cream toppings gift. (I will make chocolate sauce the day before Christmas Eve.
I dropped mom off early - she is happily home and is tired!
good night everyone

Re: Mop Up Monday
Posting without truly cuop, because today has just been another day filled with interruptions. I guess there is no other kind. In my case, it seems the whole world conspires, like your dh, Twins, to break my focus.
Got up for the first time, took dgrands to school, lots of fussing about who got to ride in the front. "I called shotgun first!!!" Upon seeing that she had run to the truck with no shoes and no backpack, I called NO ONE rides shotgun.
After I got up the second time, ate, and s2s... I went to the post office, and I was telling myself, "if I want things to change, I have to change the things I do".
So... I come home from the post office, put the TWO new magazines that came in the mail on the kitchen table. That will be my REWARD after 15 minutes focused daily/weekly work.
-- Started a load of laundry.
-- Remembered I should prepare notes for tonight's church meeting before vacuuming.
-- Working on notes (just organizing already printed material).
-- Dmom calls -- could I contact our dcousin's husband to see if he could change her old fuse box to a switch box at rental house? (She thinks dcousin's dh is somewhat rude, to her in particular, and none of us can imagine why. She is only calling him because of loyalty to dcousin.)
-- Text to dcousin, back and forth...
-- Get out vacuum cleaner. The Plan is to vacuum hard floors in den/dining/kitchen area. Should take 16 minutes.
-- Start vacuum cleaner.
-- Dcousin calls. Stop everything to talk to her because we are in the same stage of life, within a year of each other's age. She has grandchildren age 2 & 4 and newlywed son. She also does a LOT of childcare. She is still working however, and her husband pretty much works 24/7. Self-employed. She has some things that are really worrying her right now, and I felt we needed to talk. Her husband is not "licensed" for this work, but he recommended another man, who happens to go to church with dmom.
-- Called dmom back.
-- Vacuumed about half of the intended area.
-- Went for supper with dh; brought home take-out.
-- Church meeting.
-- Back home.
-- Texts with dbro, ds, ds' dfil -- all re: Thanksgiving, which we will host because we have more chairs & table space. I am hoping dbro doesn't feel too critical about the needed repairs on this house...
(He normally is not; I am just paranoid and super-self-conscious about all this.)
-- Get ballgame on phone for dh... get ice pack for dh... get Gas-X for dh...
-- Put first load of clothes away, start second load.
Now I am headed to hang up the second load, and that is all I plan to do tonight. Except wash dishes which are piled in the sink and have been all weekend.
So good to hear from Sunny in J&C. I check there first thing every day!
