Sunny... newborn babies are sooo sweet... (unless they're colicky, of course. Personally, I don't know how my parents managed to keep me for the first six months, based on what I've been told. LOL, they might not have, without the help of their parents, who were all first-time grandparents also, and maybe the "new" took a while to wear off.)
Also continuing to think of Harmony and keeping her and all of you in her family in prayer.

but I'm wary of going to the road by myself after dark. In my case, I'm scared of coyotes, although I did see a skunk once (before dark!) that I suspected had rabies!

Twins))) Nothing gets easier when children get older, does it? Well, of course we trade some problems for others... toilet training is no longer an issue... but other things come along to take up brain space.
All y'all talking about snow... whew! Our weather is much like Twins'. Hot and windy today. I was surprised we didn't have storms. I just went out to Wmart (for the second time today) wearing just a t-shirt and jeans.

The Nana rule is pretty much in place here too. I quick reminder to dgs is always sufficient. DGD is a different story. She will "sull up" and refuse to speak if she is tired or mad (or especially, when she is both.) DGS is very tender-hearted. He doesn't want to ever hurt anyone's feelings. DGD is a bit more self-centered. At 8 years old, maybe she isn't mature enough to consider others' all the time -- but believe me, we're working on it! Sometimes she is the sweetest, most thoughtful little girl in the world... and "when she is bad, she is horrid."
It was our night to do church supper also -- and since the bar-b-que restaurant owner is in our group, she brought pulled pork, buns, and sauces. DDIL brought chips, and since there was a ton of desserts left over from a group that met last night -- I didn't have to bring anything but myself! I helped set up, serve, and clean up. Then dh and I came home because he is really feeling rough. Has a temp of 101 and just feels miserable all over. That's why I went to Wmart the second time -- he felt he could eat some watermelon.
LadyM -- I think I posted Sunday afternoon/night about our weekend, but it went fine. I was tired -- had a little battle with sleepiness before we arrived; and again during the game, sitting there in the sun -- but dgs had a ball and it all turned out good. We won, we ate at a favorite stop on the way up there and stopped at Bucee's on the way back. DGS was a HUGE help with the map, finding the parking lot and everything. Phone app gps only took us so far, because of major construction around the stadium, so I don't know how I would have EVER found it without him directing me.
If he could only help with the driving, travel with him would be no different than with another adult. (Of course, I realize in four short years, he will be getting his driver's permit, and that will scare me to death, too, LOL. (Here, at 15, teenagers get their permit and can drive with a licensed adult. I think it is supposed to be a family member.)
DGS came home from school today because he was throwing up, and he stayed home from church tonight. He's taking Zofran and his acid reflux medicine. I think he had to miss the Veterans' Day program at school, and he's part of the student council which sponsored it. He's not going to school tomorrow. Then they are out Friday for Veterans' Day.
THEN -- just now -- ds called to tell us that ddil's uncle passed away and she and her mother may be going up there this weekend -- which means we'll have both dgrands all weekend. Of course dh and I told him that was fine; we're happy to do whatever we need to. I do hope dh and dgs start feeling better though!
Earlier errands were productive however -- I went to the drug store and dollar tree, as well as Wmart. Bought the Thanksgiving things that can be bought ahead of time, plus bday cards for the next two months at the dollar tree. It finally dawned on me that these five cards at Wmart would cost $20-$25... where they were $2.50 at the dollar tree. I'm going to start doing that. I also got some Christmas wrapping paper, cards, and two strands of lights for the tree -- thank you card file for the reminder that two strands burned out last year!
I've also ordered more gifts online... making progress with Christmas prep...
But I didn't need protecting because we did not offend it. Believe me, we did NOT offend it, lol. We were really dedicated to being non-offensive. Honestly, I don't know why he thinks I can't navigate dark by myself anymore. It's
