I don't know if I'm managing Monday or not. Like LadyM, we've had a sick child all day. Does stomach upset go along with Flu Type A? DGS has had much lower temperature, hovering around 100 most of the day, but he has either slept or sat in the recliner all day, and every time he eats anything, he throws up. Not a LOT, but enough that he has to run to the bathroom. He has a pretty good appetite -- when he found out McRibs were back, he wanted two sandwiches and french fries... but again, gagging, a little bit of throwing up.
He's back home with his daddy tonight, and mommy will be home tomorrow. He's supposed to have his first basketball practice tomorrow, but will have to miss it. He said if he was feeling better, he might go and meet the coach and his teammates, and at least watch.
On the good side, dgd was feeling MUCH better and she went to school today, and reportedly had a good day.
All the washables they touched are now in the washer and I am hoping our flu shots protect dh and me from catching this round of it.
DGD got a shot also -- but dgs and ddil are in a disagreement: he says he NEVER received ANY information re: shots at his school; she says she remembers filling out paperwork for it. It is VERY likely he lost the paper, but it is just as likely that she is mixed up and only remembers dgd's paper.
I came across a quote from Marie Curie the other day:
“One never notices what has been done; one can only see what remains to be done.”
I definitely have this problem.
I took dgd to school, s2s, went to post office & with dh to do labwork at the hospital.
I've done laundry, still need to hang some to dry, and finish this load of blankets, etc. (Dry, put away)
I s/s the two toilets we use, and dried dh's shower.
But of course, OMM is all the stuff I just haven't felt like doing.
Nancy, I do hope you get some HEAT soon!!!
Kathryn, WOW... that is so scary. I'm glad your friend's dd (ddil?) wasn't hurt worse -- hopefully, there will be no effects that show up later. That is wonderful the way everyone came together to make the dgd feel as safe and comforted as possible.
LadyM -- 54 CARDS??? Oh my goodness. I am so impressed.
I have just felt tired and useless today. This in/out of the house all the time really cuts into my day, and of course, I know living on dh's Elvis-Central-Time-Zone schedule makes it extra difficult for me to be as productive as I'd like. There's really nothing I can do about that. I could try to set my own time table, but I'd be disturbing his sleep, and with his health problems, I really don't want to do anything to upset the apple cart like that. I guess we all kinda end up with the husband we can deal with. A lot of people couldn't live with Sheldon at all, but all things considered, we have a really good marriage, IMHO.
BTW -- I am so glad your dkids are recovering! And so glad you and LordM have not caught this!
Blessed -- you are ALWAYS so cheerful and optimistic! And you are doing an amazing job taking care of your dh and your dmom! I really admire your attitude, and you cheer me up every day!
Twins -- thanks for a great start to the day!
Thinking of
Harmony and her family and hoping
Sunny can check in again soon! I wonder if Harmony is able to check in and read our posts yet or have her dd read them to her.

All but one load of laundry DONE
Dgd’s bday gifts— WRAPPED
Still wondering— do I finish out my budget by finding something else to buy OR do I give her cash for the “shopping spree” her mommy has promised her?
