LadyM -- I agree -- that is fantastic, letting dd have the summer to learn cooking skills and new recipes. Mmmm... the biscuits sound delicious.
And my goodness... sounds like you AND DS need some drama-free days. That seems like a really bad situation, a grown man calling him names! That is just ridiculous. And then for the crew chief to act like he did about it! This must not be the same person that DS has been working for so long that you spoke so highly of. I think you said that man was having some health problems? How are things going with him?
Well... as for me... that 5x7 was kinda a castle in the sand or something...
So far I have done...
nothing.
Wait -- I did talk to dmom. And when I finish this post I will reconcile the bank statement.
I took dgs home, went to Wmart, and then filled up the car. My aunt called me. We only talked a minute; she got another call and expected it might be her great-granddaughter wanting to spend the night with her.
EDIT -- reconciled checkbook -- all good -- no mistakes in my math.
EDITING AGAIN -- it's 1:47 and I have finally typed the teacher group minutes and sent them out to everyone, AND I have practically worn out my printer getting my notes caught up for church stuff. Lots of things the chairman had emailed us, and I felt I should have hard copies in the meeting notes. HOWEVER, I drew the line at printing a 43-PAGE report. Nope. Not going to do that. If they want a hard copy, they can print it at church. Whew.
I slept better last night than I have in a LONG time. But OTOH, having grands here sorta messes up my routine. I have done NOTHING all day, until I took dgs home. Dmom says I shouldn't feel guilty; I have been sick and I need rest.
And maybe this is partly what grief feels like? I mean, I notice things piling up here, just like they did (and still do) at my dmom's. I know I need to do this/that, but I just want to lie down. I don't really have a lot of appetite. I'm not having crying spells or anything... DH is always on my mind, but it just doesn't seem real, in a way. It's kinda like I'm just going through the motions of what has to be done and not really letting myself think too much. Just watch the news, read the paper, do the next thing, take a nap.
