Re: D-Day Thoughts and Thumbs Up! Thursday

I never got here yesterday -- TWO doctor's appts with dmom just wiped me out. Afterwards, I called dbro to just "share the wealth." He may be a thousand miles away, but I am definitely going to let him know just how much I am doing up here. * whew * When I told him about my panic attack re: the fear of actually taking a beach trip with her... he TOTALLY understood, said there was no way HE and dsisil wanted to take a trip like that with her either. He said I should just let it go in one ear and out the other; "She says a lot of stuff, but when it comes right down to it, she's not going to plan a trip and pack and everything. Just smile and say 'yeah, that would be nice,' and then don't even think about it anymore." (You may notice, dbro's attitude is a lot like ds'.)
At this point, we have to return to the surgeon, re: the cellulitis/absess next Wednesday, and we will return to the pain clinic on July 2. Re: the foot, the pain doctor cannot offer any sort of injection for pain relief there; he seems to think (like the podiatrist) that surgery is the only real option. dmom does not want to be put to sleep again, and I definitely do not want to go through another lengthy recovery. Dmom also fears foot surgery, because there is no guarantees they can actually fix it.
I came home and took a nap, and then DS and the dgrands and I went out for supper. I just had a hamburger and cheese sticks, but it was really good. We went to a place about 20 miles away, where we rarely go, but I suggested it because they have 24 flavors of soft serve ice cream. The only place I can get maple ice cream, and it was really good.
Afterwards, dgd spent the night.
She has gone home now, but dgs is here. DS and carpenter friend are on the roof. We can now see into the attic from the hole in the study ceiling.
Last night I noticed it was dripping again. Called D's, he called friend this morning, and they've been here a little over two hours so far. I truly am praying they can find the problem and get this stopped. And I am so mad that dh didn't take care of this before he passed away.
Yesterday was hard... I started crying over nothing while eating lunch with dmom.
Then dgd said something about it not being fun here without granddaddy, (which may be an idea I put in her head with my questions a week or so again) and I started crying again.
But today, I'm okay, so far.
Thinking back to yesterday's three outcomes.
Okay --
today --
1. Floors vacuumed
2. Bathrooms cleaned
3. Call made to AT&T
Waving to all!
I am so glad that LordM is doing so well, and I am enjoying all the wedding prep at Harriet's house! So exciting!
Agreeing with Dove about how good it is to see Kathryn back with us, AND -- Dove, it is good to see you posting more, too!
(((Rose))) I hope the toxic smell leaves SOON. Something like that is just aggravating to deal with!
