Thank you for the birthday greeting for my dh LadyM. This year there will be NO ice cream cake, no matter how many times he has asked for one. We had a discussion last week and he finally stopped asking for that darned ice cream cake.

We were out of the house by 8:40 to meet dfriends who now live out of town for brunch. We were going to drop him off at his next "appointment" today but we came by here, and the wife decided to stay here with his while he went on to his appointment with another friend, and we just loaned him my car so he could come by here to get here. He will get it back to us this evening before we go out and they go to their evening event. It's been nice having her here but OTOH I'd like to take a nap! (I took dramamine earlier when dh was going to drive us all around.)

We also have a dinner reservation at 6 this evening with friends A and V.

I do a preprinted weekly calendar page for every week, often a week or two ahead, to get a feel for my schedule. I start my week on Sunday opposite that page, but turn over pages, starting a new day where ever I am in the book. But I typically use the Google calendar as the "official" calendar.

A Birthday and an Anniversary, today? Happy day to Cathy's dh :!:

That's a helpful signal, Nancy, to see dress watch and remember you're supposed to be taking it easy.

Dd and dsonil just left after a long workday here. I've been on the LOOKOUT for any scraped knuckles or stumbles, and all went fine. Chief door-opener and advice-giver, lol. So much got done. Almost a clear room/closet of hers, but they didn't take the bed yet, which works okay for us for a while.

We had a spaghetti lunch with garlic bread together, dd's request, and watched Are You Being Served together, also her request, lol.

Also working here today, the painter, who ran out of paint and has had to dash out for more. I'm sure this is cutting into his profit, so HRH will likely give him more money. He's been working steadily for hours, with lots of careful taping, so it's starting to look really nice.

Although it is hot, the building is in the shade and painter says he has not had an insect show up at all - good news. I gave him extra ice water.

Here I is LadyM… nice to know I was missed. I’ve just been busy.

Wednesday and Thursday my son brought his kids here to swim. He stayed here as well. Idea was to give his wife time to start organizing and decluttering their home… she’s sort of a hoarder and has ADD. Anyway it didn’t work as planned. Not surprised

Everyone was her from 10-4 on Wednesday and 10-5:30 on Thursday. My son has a new job and he was making calls and interviewing people on his phone using my office.

The kids were great and we swam most of the time with time out for lunches and cartoons inbetween. I had a great time and so did the kids … my dgs who’s almost three, just adores Sweetie and it is amazing to watch Sweetie with him considering Sweetie never had kids of his own.

Thursday night I was tired so decided to watch tv in our bedroom. My show started at 8 and I dozed through it all.

Yesterday I went to class and then my coffee gathering. After it was over I stayed to help set up for our dinner and dance set up for the night. Came home then ran some errands. When I got back I put everything away and sat down for 45 minutes.

The dinner is a bring your own food to share event and we sat at our table with 8 of our friends. As our group had 18 altogether so there was plenty to eat. I brought my own food cause I knew from past experience there wouldn’t be much on my eating plan that I could eat. We had a DJ and after dinner most of us … mainly women danced the night away. There were a few slow ones and Sweetie surprised me because he wanted to do that with me.

He left early and walked home and I stayed afterwards to help clean up and take the decorations down. When I got home I had more than 21k steps for the day. Dancing non-stop for 2.5 hours will do that to you :D:

Then this morning I had a dermatology appt at 9. Had two places that needed to be biopsied. One on the side of my face which has been frozen 3 times and never healed properly.. and one on my leg. Now I get to wait for the results. BTDT a few times…

Came home folded laundry, went down the rabbit hole for a while and then started my dinner prep early. I am making stuffed peppers and wanted to do a few things ahead of time. M

And now I’m off to make dinner ….

Y'all all look so busy and productive today... I am just dragging around. I FINALLY took a shower around 4:00 pm, but I don't have any make-up on or anything like that, and I need to go to Wmart.

DGD and I got up at 9:30 and went to McD's for breakfast; then we played Wheel of Fortune and "Talent Show." (This is where she pretends to be different people and I judge the different acts.) Then she decided she was ready to go home so I took her home and got DGS.Took him to S*bway.
DGD started crying last night when I told her that yes, her daddy was going to be gone this weekend, and she wanted to be sure she went home before he left this afternoon.
I stripped the bed, and the clean sheets are ready to go back on.
Made a grocery list.
I just really don't want to do anything. I"ve kinda had the donwannas for the last three days, and just a general feeling of anxiety.

Good to hear from you, Rose!

Happy birthday to Cathy's dh and
Happy anniversary to the Mysterys!

(((Nancy))) Hope your hip feels better soon! Best wishes to your dgd and her groom!

LadyM... hang in there. I can see your concerns about the older friend... good attitude about the missing file.

BTW -- :?: I have a problem with my Microsoft Word -- I think it's Microsoft 360 -- I pay a yearly fee for it -- and the last time I used it, it just froze up completely, in two different documents.
The first one was was the church minutes, and I finally just left it alone for about 15 minutes or so and it was fine.
Then I started trying to copy and paste some things from FB to Word, and it froze up like that again. This time, I left it alone and there was no change. Then finally I went to bed and it was still froze when I got up the next day!

Waving to ALL ! Hope you all have a great day!

RR - You have been busy! Glad to see your CI.

We have 5 teenagers here this afternoon. Remembering when I was told homeschooling DS15 would mean that he wouldn't have an active social life. Ha!

I am thinking about and visualizing the pages that have been described today. I am discovering (the hard way) what is not working in my notebook. I made a future log page by dividing a page up into 4 sections. Each of the 4 sections were labeled for future events in June, July, August and September. I quickly found out that it didn't work well because there wasn't enough room to list all the future events. I switched to giving each month an entire page with the 1-31 days numbered down the page. That isn't working either because there isn't enough room for those days with multiple events. I don't know what I am going to try next for the future log.

47 days until school starts. ARGH. I'm not ready to start planning homeschool lessons.

Watered in the shade to walk a bit.
I rested on the couch stretched out.
Got some notes to think on for later not my writing day so I do not have to think about that now! LOL!
I do one day at a time in my bujo.
My planner has plenty of extra pages that are movable and I do monthly plans on it mostly ideas for projects.
We hit the 90* mark first time today for our area I think.

DGS wanted to get supper from T*co Bell... so we did that, and then went to Wmart. All the groceries are put away and we're just sitting around now.
DGS has about driven me crazy putting out imaginary match ups between random teams and I'm supposed to pick who would win. Now he is trying to tune dgd's toy ukulele. He stays busy.

I washed the dishes that had been in the sink a couple days... but I still haven't put the sheets on the bed.

I just feel at loose ends. I know this is probably normal... but I'm just feeling like I'm on the verge of tears. Started in the car, listening to the radio... Ray Charles came on, and I remembered how dh always liked it when I tried to sing along with the Rayettes.
DGS' birthday party here at my house on Wednesday, his request, and that is going to be sooo hard. It was a HUGE deal in our family to watch dh light the candles... He has been known to try to light 30 candles with a single (ordinary size) match. It was a big tradition to see how far he could go before he burned himself. Sigh. I dread this. It will just be family -- DGS, dgd, DS, ddil, dmom, dbil and his fiance'... and maybe ddil's parents and brother. I don't know what we're eating. Waiting for him to decide.
DDIL has asked my cousin to make the cake.

Other than that, the week ahead includes
* Monday, meeting dfriend for lunch
* Tuesday, possibly will be picking up DGS at football practice, dgd has eye doctor appt
* Wednesday, morning -- dmom to the doctor... evening -- party
* Thursday, haircut
* Friday, DS and I have tentative plans to go look at the out of tombstones
So -- it's a busy week. That's probably a good thing.

(((Lucylee))) I wonder if your mind/body are rebelling from doing much these days because they are storing up energy/motivation/strength/fortitude to make it through another "first" without your dh.

Treat yourself well. I think you are doing amazingly well!

Today was lethargy for me but to be fair the weather was overwhelmingly oppressive.

I'm doing the bubbles station at the beach opening next week and dh had an idea for it that he saw in Cologne so he worked on recreating a very intricate set of rope circles between poles for this. While he worked on that, I made up homemade mixture here to try. The cotton rope (actually clothesline but made of cotton) is really stiff and kinks a lot right now. I might put it through the dishwasher or the washing machine several times in order to soften it a bit. It really needs wind to work but by just swaying it I could produce bubbles but they didn't last because it was raining too hard. On the porch I was able to prove the mixture will work. Tomorrow will be windy with breaks in the rain so we'll try again.

Aside from keeping the place tidying, I haven't done much else this afternoon/evening. We headed out for pizza and got to know the server a little bit better at the only pizza place nearby (20 min away and in the middle of practically nowhere (just a gas station with small convenience store.) The pizza is good but heavy and we stuffed ourselves trying to eat half a 14" pizza each.

It rained all the time we were there and the full drive in both directions. After we got home it started raining even harder and there was a little stream running down our walkway towards the deck and dock. The mosquitos are wicked right now, I'm thankful we both have full bug coverings or else we wouldn't be able to be outside at all. Although, even the porch is getting bad now with them so I had to give up on the bubbles, even inside on it. They come in on us when we come through the door.

I'm really hoping the forecast holds for tomorrow. It will rain (80% chance most of the day) but there are high winds so the systems will move by quickly with breaks in between.
