I napped after getting up so dang early that was needed.
We have winds now had to fetch a red and white bag from under the deck I draped over the rail this morning.
That said I was grateful that I"d done the get on the ground and up again exercises this spring.
I have just over three miles in today yea!

I have a new Chromebook on my wish list in the color I like that that I want found some $ I tucked away and had have to get a gift card
before I go ahead with that however.

Many friends and business are posting about their a/c units quitting today. Some a/c haven't quit but are running nonstop and can't keep up. We had the same problem last year with our a/c unit running nonstop, but it was still over 92 inside the house. I'm thankful we had the a/c unit replaced before this heat started. Today I am not a fan ofbeing in the pink. Our electric company says to not try to cool the inside below 20 degrees different from outside temp. That sounds unfeasible to most people with these hot temperatures. That would mean when it is 115 outside, they are saying we should keep the inside temperature of our home at 95F. We have our home thermostat set on 78 and the a/c unit is not struggling to maintain that temperature. It feels frigid to me when I come inside.

Harriet: Tell HRH I bought a gaming chair for myself when I needed a new chair. This one was expensive but it does the job very well. I don't use 1/2 the adjustments. I got the idea to buy a gaming chair when I was reading reviews of the best ergonomic chairs. This was one of the ones listed and I love it. I don't know if they are available in the US.

<Written before supper>

Not an overly productive day but I promised I'd make dinner since dh was busier than I was. So a casserole (the easiest thing I could think of!) is in the oven.

I did get the bed stripped and remade and fresh towels out and both those loads of laundry are dried and put away. So ends the saga of Mount Washmore. At least for another 4 - 5 days.

Got distracted by more planes today. Apparently this was practice for next week when we'll be treated to an aerial parade in honour of the 100th Anniversary of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Woot! Today was pretty impressive, at least 7 planes or groups of planes went by the balcony. All very close so loud but also very close so interesting.

I'm thankful I get excited by this, for so many of our newer Canadians these sounds would be terrorizing. I always remember our hair stylist telling the story of arriving here from Lebanon when he was in his early 20s, having emigrated to live with his brother. His brother took him to his work at a parking lot near the airport the first day and when a plane took off over them, our hair stylist dove to the ground and covered his head. The brother then realized how bad the war was in Lebanon, he had no idea. (Eventually all the siblings made it out but the parents chose to stay until one died about 15 years ago and then the siblings moved the remaining one here.)

I also continued to work on the bubble station prep, testing some things that didn't work and checking the big bubble string set ups downstairs on the patio (it is too windy up here for them to work) and pronouncing the new solution acceptable. I'm not sure if I'll make more tonight or not. I have about a gallon of various recipes. My biggest concern is the wands getting sandy and then sand getting into the solution. I don't have a solution for that (and there's no running water at the beach right now because it is still technically closed and under reconstruction but they are letting the neighbourhood use it.)

Had my exercise class and caught up on tenant news from the office (apparently it had been quite the week with ambulances taking away our elderly, including one while I was in the office.

I worked all evening on the final set up for the bubble station. Everything fits into one load of the wagon which is covered in a cloth in the office so dgs3 won't empty it.

Ds is coming by E-bike with him tomorrow, all 45 miles. I'm sick with worry but will just have to turn it over to God. He will call us if he needs help and we'll get him with the car. Ddil is already in the city working (and off at 3, I think) so she'll give him and the bike a ride home. I feel bad for dgs having to sit on the back of the bike for all that time but ds will stop if it isn't working out.

I just got up and packed the 'leash' for dgs into the wagon so I'll have it at the beach tomorrow. He'll be overtired and may not be as well behaved as usual, plus there is both a fire and the water as major hazards.

I'm off to bed now. Tomorrow is going to be a Looonnnnnggggg day.

Party is done, dgd is "done." As soon as everyone left, she wanted to play Uno, and after a couple games, she was ready to go to bed. Of course, she wants ME to stay in the bedroom with her, so she is in our bed and I'm sitting here typing on my Chromebook. I am sooo glad y'all encouraged me to get this last year for Christmas!!! THANK YOU, again. Even now, since no one uses the computer but me, it is still so nice to be able to take this to whatever room I want to. I can watch TV and stay with her, and still keep up with you ladies.

Rose, thank you for your reassurance that I'm doing well... sometimes I don't know... when I'm alone I really don't want to do anything but sleep... except when I'm in bed at night and I can't relax and have to have the tv on all night.
The party did go well, although it was different. There was enough talk though to fill the time without any empty awkward gaps where dh should be... but I know DS and dbil missed him terribly, too. DGS wanted to light his own candles -- a job that was ALWAYS dh's -- but I did not have the good lighter, so DDIL did it. DDIL used a regular cigarette lighter -- she had told me earlier that DS wanted to just "retire" the matches. She didn't even want me to leave them laying out where DS could see them.
But we talked about dh in normal ways, without tears, just remembering some of the stories he told re: teachers, etc.


Right now, I am REALLY nervous about going to look at the tombstones on Friday. DS and I have plans to go, and I would be okay with that, but I really have this nagging feeling that I need to at least ask my uncle if he wants to go with us.
Opinions?
Duncle is the one who encouraged my dmom to go to TN to get ddad's stone. I haven't heard anything about him getting daunt's stone ordered yet, so I feel like I should at least tell him we're going up there and ask if he wants to ride with us and take care of his/daunt's also. He is a difficult person, and it makes me nervous to involve myself with him... BUT... my other girl cousin and some of the boy cousins have done sooo much for him, while I have done NOTHING. N O T H I N G. So I think I'll feel really bad if I don't offer to take him with us.
I really think he will probably make some excuse not to go when he finds out that dgrands and DS and DDIL are all going -- he doesn't do well with noisy children... BUT... he might be willing to go. I won't know till I ask, will I? And I might regret asking, but I might regret NOT asking, too.

Oh well.
Tomorrow -- haircut. DGS will spend the night.
