I set an alarm for 6:30 to take the compost and recycling out to the road. All 3 cats went outside. Came back in and went back to bed.
Woke up and dh's bff was already here!

I had wanted to sweep the bathroom floor before he got here.
I went to knitting after dropping some stuff off at a thrift store. Went and got groceries on the way home. Got here and dh was out. Put away groceries. Dh came in with almost the same things I picked up. Oranges and bananas. Second
Dh has asked for meatloaf tonight.
It's overcast and cooler today. No rain, which is quite alright after yesterday.

TA-DA!!!
It wasn't easy, but I FORCED myself to vacuum the bedroom and bath before I took off my shoes and settled into the couch just now!
It was kinda a "lick and a promise" vacuuming in the bathroom (countertops, I mean) but it's done and there are vacuum marks on the bedroom carpet. That always makes me feel better, LOL.
Before that, I was ready to go to dbil's office by 9:30 so I picked up DS and we took care of that. Dbil is being so good about all this. He is not charging me for his time, just the necessary costs required by probate office and newspaper (to run notice about "anyone with any claims..." etc. I am giving thanks for dbil today.
I also made a phone call to the Opry -- I THOUGHT I was notifying them that they would not be getting paid for the tickets for August show. Turns out that HAD been paid when the tickets were ordered. It is against their policy to offer refunds, but the man said considering the circumstances (dh's death) they would. So I am getting $925 refunded. That was certainly a blessing, and another thing to be thankful for.
DS read a FB post to me on the way back home, and I laughed till I literally cried, tears running down my face, could barely see to drive. It's been a long time since I laughed like that. A third thing to be thankful for this morning.
"Some days are diamonds; some days are stone..." (John Denver) but I'm thinking it's good to have so much to be thankful for this morning.
OH -- ONE MORE -- ds's house is always messy, but there are no dead animal carcasses on the property!
I will try to vacuum the main area of the house later, but after 18 minutes with the vacuum cleaner, my back is already complaining. So I think I have earned my rest and I will settle down and read the paper now.
DS said he might come over tonight and we would look for important papers (car titles) in dh's strange filing system.

I wrote quite a bit this morning in my personal growth / goals section it took some time but SO
glad I'd taken notes on a book I read in the last week or two so it was ready to go yea for that.
I've been doing a section at a time. New season and I am doing some forward thinking now finally.
Lucyl. I remember thinking that all those tasks not pleasant but most are one time and you
do not have to do them again once they are completed. Remembering that really helped me to get
through some of those difficult days.
Bacon & eggs for bfast & toast today was great and felt like a real treat.
Two pieces of a four piece prepared wrap was lunch.
Chicken patty for lunch going to try that new recipe tonight.
My dsis said she found some steak in her freezer and was surprised I suggested she save it for Fri.
she loved that idea.
I go with the easy one for the Fri. is fish day.
Chicken
fish
pork
& bfast for dinner.
Enjoying a bit of a slower paced day I needed that.
I divided my journal in to thirds and I"m one third of the way through it so I am thinking it will last a month.

Wow, LadyM, yes it was wise for her to bring dd13 back and not have her deal any further with that job. Baking/cooking together tomorrow sounds like a much better idea - fun project.
Well, was I ever wrong!
Yesterday I'd posted here that I would NOT have a productive day because company was coming. But HRH and I both hit the ground running this morning and worked, both together and apart, and SO much was done before we even had lunch.
That chest of drawers that had to be moved is in its place in the small bedroom now and completely redone, several things tossed, much organization.
The den has had a big Re-Do, a cleaning and a decluttering. A large box in my way for SO long has been gone through by HRH (his stuff) and all handled well. Vacuuming, dusting with wand, swiffering under low furniture. Another large box of his keepsakes fit right into the under-daybed storage - big success there.
Outdoors, I sprayed the plants that I feel are most at-risk from the fungal/mildew problem. I'm not going further yet, because if these burn from this I need to know before I just kill some unnecessarily. If I see damage, I'll dilute further. (citric acid main ingredient)
Of course, eventually our financial guy did come, and he did stay well more than an hour, reining in our productivity. Mostly visiting but also the yearly update, planning, questions. We insisted he look at wedding photos, lol. I guess in a way, his visit is productivity, too. We do have to keep on top of things.

Just put a zucchini "bread" in the oven. Calls for a loaf pan, which I didn't have, so it's in a cake pan. I will check it at 40 minutes instead of "50-60" minutes. I will need to buy more floor and sugar to make more. I think I might invest in some loaf tins as well, so we can give them away.
Dh called a bunch of friends/neighbours to try to give away some zucchinis and cucumbers. Only 1 taker so far.

Dmom has appt at 9:15 tomorrow, getting the shot for her back pain. So I’ll be up early again. “Early.” I know y’all are LOL.
Editing —,WHB vacuuming is DONE.
